reasonable for the price in terms of being a cut above kent wangs but cheaper than CPs, stitching quality is questionable. had the heel blow out as soon as i tried them on (i emailed them about it, offered partial refund and cobbler fixed it for $10), leather's wearing in okay, doesn't crease horribly, have been wearing them for about 30-40 hours

Not him, but...

I would say neither are versatile. The guidi are slim and fit weird with traditional hems/cuts. The creepers look good with basically any slim black jeans and pants and sweatpants. If you want something that looks good with anything look for Guidi lace ups (995/991).

OP here. Neither are super versatile, and unless you have the wardrobe to support it hold off on buying. You have to invest in a supporting wardrobe for either boot, otherwise you'll look stupid. Since you're looking for a "avante garde" boot, versatility shouldn't be a factor. In terms of quality Guidi is a lot better than Rick Owens, whether that be the Creepers or any other boot. Maison Margiela boots are essentially Buttero boots with a facelift. Good quality just extremely overpriced, but very versatile. I'd say go for the 988's over the Creepers.

Also a pair of slim jeans that can stack are a must for either boot. I for example wear them with a pair of Julius 457pam15's.

OP here. The quality on them suck. That's why I sold them. The leather is stiff and cheap, but the most annoying was that the zipper was IMPOSSIBLE to zip up. Like it physically hurt to zip up the shoes even when your feet weren't in them.

Dont really wear the nikes that much. Could really get rid of them desu. Just have them mainly because Ive always been into sneakers, so its basically just an attachment thing. Got rid of all of my other sneakers though

couldn't find image of my fourth pair, but it's literally the same shoe model, but canvas green. they've all aged really well.

Depends what you're looking for. The shoe is a fucking tank. Aside from scuffs (which can be buffed out anyway) you can beat the shit out of them and you'd never know the difference. If anything they'd only become more comfortable.

As long as you're sure to oil them, etc. every few months the shoes should last for years with everyday wear no problem. I picked up a pair about 6 months ago and am planning on treating them for the first time as soon as I find some free time.

With that being said the leather isn't anything awe inspiring. The silhouette of the shoe is definitely chunky. When I first got them I was very underwhelmed, especially after all the praise I had heard.

However, now I can't really imagine wearing anything else. They have kind of become part of me, scuffs, creases and all. I really like them a lot - my favorite shoe to date. Sounds stupid but I really do think they are more than just a shoe.

They are nice, supple leather, somewhat chunky profile, but overall excellent quality.

Suede leather; not recommend for shit weather.

chunky is sort of discouraging but i was planning on getting rid of every show i own except 2 pairs and i wanted the postman/postmen to be 1 of them, just a simple black leather shoe is really appealing to me. the only obvious alternative i know of are dr marten mono's and the quality seems shit on them

nah, not really. i found and chose the shoes that fit my lifestyle best. the 3mm sole, zero drop, durability and functionality of them are unmatched in any other shoe. i opted for utility. form follows function.

remember that protection is what clothing is first and foremost about.
