I've never visited this board before and I thought this would be the best place to ask for advice. I'm a male and I want to get a cross that doesn't look gay. I've never worn jewelry or anything like that before, but these kinda look okay. I was thinking maybe even a jade cross, but the only site I had found to buy this kind of stuff is this overstock website.

http://www.overstock.com/Jewelry-Watches/Stainless-Steel-Mens-Black-Resin-Cross-Necklace/5243327/product.html?refccid=OGTYJ4ZYIX7YU22KNQ6TJDBTW4&searchidx=58

(1) Are you religious? If not, you're gonna come off as either confused or weird, at least in American society. It tends to be associated with super-Catholic latinos and shit.

(2) Overstock stuff tends to be cheap-ish, but not awful. With that said, keep in mind that both of those are gonna be pretty garish when worn - they're not only kinda ugly, but the colors and overall styling are gonna make them very, very noticeable. Mens' jewelry really doesn't look good when it's over the top.

For what it's worth, my preference would be for you to not wear a cross unless you're like super religious or something.

I'm Christian and my Grandma runs a church. I would probably wear it mostly under my shirt. Where I have moved there are a lot of drugs and alcohol and the main pastime is hedonism. I want it as a physical reminder to stay strong when I feel like falling off the straight and narrow road.

Could you recommend any that don't look like shit?

Glad to hear there's legitimacy to your desire to purchase the necklace, that's rare on here.

Hm, that's tough. My preference would be go go for something tiny and inoffensive - kinda oldschool Catholic, in a way.

Going cheap, ultra-simple, and with real metals:

Silver: http://www.amazon.com/Sterling-Crucifix-Pendant-Necklace-Stainless/dp/B003H9LGL8/ref=sr_1_5?s=apparel&ie=UTF8&qid=1450687328&sr=1-5&nodeID=3888121&refinements=p_89%3AAmazon+Collection
Gold: http://www.amazon.com/Mens-Filled-Cross-Pendant-Chain/dp/B00I3VHSSA/ref=sr_1_17?s=apparel&ie=UTF8&qid=1450687297&sr=1-17&nodeID=3888121&refinements=p_n_material_two_browse-bin%3A114274011

One thing to keep in mind: cheaper necklaces have a bad tendency to tarnish, especially gold necklaces. You might want to consider dropping a bit more money to get something nicer and less likely to tarnish - for example, Amazon seems to be plating some of their silver stuff with Rhodium to stave off tarnishing.
>>
>>10738280
Thanks, that gold one actually looks good, I don't really care about if it tarnishes. Can't really wear the silver one because "Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image" and it's also creepy as fuck to have a mini Jesus being crucified on my neck
>>
>>10738193
Hahahaha pls kill urself
>>
>>10738290
>"Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image"
>Crucifixes everywhere

In all seriousness though go with what the best trip said, nothing too cheap but keep it simple. Silver looks better and less flashy than gold imo.

They have this silver version but
>Bed Bath and Beyond
seems like it might give me the Catholic girl look. Maybe I should just get a wood cross with a string?

Get a necklace that's small and simple, not in your face. I've seen a dude wear one that had diamonds on it and it was obnoxiously big

w2c

cant even tell what colour that is, silver or gold?
>>
>>10738161
Carefully consider if silver or gold fits you better, skincolor wise. I could also imagine a simple steel cross on a leather sting, but it has to match you style and skin color. Silver would be the safest/least gay imho
>>
>>10739785
...also, gold is available in different colors, just to remind you...
>>
>>10739793
What goes best with a little tanner skin? I'm half Chinese. I'm guessing gold would match more but I'm not sure if that is good or bad, is it supposed to be the opposite?
>>
>>10739678
Silver, and I don't know where to cop, was hoping someone here would as I've been after one for a while now.
>>
>>10739601
That's nice, anyone know where to get one?

It should have the same hue as your skin, brightness and saturation can be whatever you like. If you are a "cold" color type, go for neutral metals or white gold, if yellow go for yellow gold. The saturation varies depending on the alloy. Yellow gold is considered more classic while white gold is considered more modern (similar to platinum, but cheaper).

I'm not Catholic. Catholic churches having gift shops is news to me too, I've never been inside one but that sounds kind of wierd

The Medal of St. Benedict is sick as FUCK, it's also the only real magic-esque things a Christian can wear non sinfully.
I have a small tin one on a black chain but I'm not really pious enough to feel right wearing it.
The Vade Retro Satana is cool too.
The shit in pic related is pretty dumb and superstitious though.

yeah this is pretty fucking autistic
>>
>>10742845
I'm Catholic but most churches I've visited of other denominations still have craft groups that sell stuff they make (inc. jewellery) and tea/coffee for the congregation.
>>
>>10742576
I'm Roman Catholic and there is no gift shops in most Churches. I'm sure theres some in the Vatican. Also OP you could go Bespoke if you have the money otherwise I'd go with what the others said.
>>

It is possible to find the same straightness of mind in rationality, just as a little sidenote. But here you go (the more fashionable choices for cheap):
