Favorite bombers available now? I've been putting off getting one for the past 3 years and I still want one so I guess I should shop around.

I might even bite the bullet on the rick owens bomber from pic related. Any fit pics involving the classic rick owens bomber?

Preferably some more low key looks, bonus points for ramones/no geobaskets.

>>10728127
Lang never ever ever said anything about them being "bondage". Please find somewhere he referenced the carrying straps as bondage. That is only a term that has been given to his jackets with the straps by onlookers. Many of Langs pieces had cuts reminiscent of restraints and bondage, but I don't think Lang ever wanted them to be seen as overtly sexual. So no I was not "pretending to be retarded". You have no idea what you are talking about, just reforming the bullshit that pf and others have said before. So next time you try and act smart, keep that shit to yourself.

What is boring about carrying straps? It is true to the point of their function. It is much better than some untrue and fictional name like "bondage straps".

Like if you had a Lang bomber and you were walking down the street, carrying it on your back. Someone approaches you and asks you about it and the straps, are you going to say "err u-uhh they are b-bondage straps" and loom like a gimp fag, or are you just going to say "oh they are there to easily carry the jacket when I don't want to wear it"

Neat. Always wondered tho about the neck, do you roll it up or leave it as is? My bull bomber does the same thing and sometimes it feels like i need a longer neck to pull it off :s
>>
>>10728526
where's the source? How does this writer know what inspires Lang?
>>
>>10728526

Not him but I work in fashion and you have to realize how much published content is solely the work of a single, and often misinformed employee at the company. You see so many errors and points lost in translation being put forth as fact from fashion publications, and even more so with non - fashion oriented news companies like The Atlantic.

Not the most familiar with Helmut but I do recall reading about Helmut fanatics elsewhere saying that he was inspired by aerial / flight gear, and that the bondage label was given afterwards by observers. That probably was lost somewhere via word of mouth, and came to be interpreted as some by "He was inspired by bondage gear".
>>
>>10728179

Actually Pigfuck said the same, that it was never inspired by bondage, but he said he uses the term when reselling because of the cultural capital / hype associated with it.
>>
>>10728543
i'm in the industry also
this article was published on multiple websites by the author, not just The Atlantic
and yes HL was definitely, and obviously inspired by all aspects of the military.
Whether HL has commented directly on the bondage influence or not, fashion critics all refer to the straps as bondage straps and is the correct term when speaking on HL products

>>10728543
>>
>>10728526
Basically what everyone else has said, anyone can look at pieces and how they are presented and guess at the designers influences. But in the end, even if the guesses (big emphasis on the fact that they are guesses) influences are nothing more than just that. I can look at a Rick mountain hoodie and say it looks like a nazgul hood, doesn't mean that suddenly Rick is inspired by Lord of the Rings.
>>
>>10728526
who's the retard now huh? still you it seems LOL
>>
I'm pretty confident that the bondage straps are sexual. The positions of the straps tend to be cupping ur ass and also he has tom of england t shirts, shirts with nipples hanging out and all sorts of naughty stuff
>>
>>10728572

For some reason I highly doubt that you work in the industry.

Also the original argument was the provenance of Helmut's inspiration for the straps, not which term is more widespread.

Nice backpedaling.
>>
>>10728662
got my degree in march and have been a technical designer for 8 months

didn't backpedal at all
stating that helmut hasn't commented on it publicly doesn't take away from my side at all

all his shows were sexual
not just in presentation but in detail

Aww that's cute, you've seen the picture of pigfucks ass and now you think you're right. Sexual elements =/= Everything revolves around sex

Rick has shown ducks hanging out, breasts on obvious display below thin gauze. Margiela constantly had girls I'm tight as tops that would very obviously show off their breasts. As I said before: because they had those in their show, does that make the entire thing sexual? Do you really think rick was referencing glory holes when he did shit like that? Or when Dries displayed pic related on a runway, was he suddenly inspired by bondage and BDSM? Look at the rest of the show, even though the straps are featured throughout there is still very little sexual nature to it
>>10728671
>all his shows are sexual
>http://www.firstview.com/collection_images.php?id=6442#.VnQcastlDqA
>God look at all these fucking sluts, disgusting. Put some clothes on you degenerates
Even being completely clothed yoy can still make the cuts sexual, provocative, and displaying the body. That is simply not happening here, everything is fairly modest. Even the dresses that feature the cuffs high on the arm do not strike as sexual at all, more powerful than anything. Making everything revolve around sex is never something Helmut untended to do, again yes, he might have had some influences but not to the point of "every show he has done was sexual"

If you really did study and now work in the industry you really need to open up your mind and see what's real, and stop the blind consumption of information that isn't and has never been true.
