Christmas is coming and we need to show off winter fits.
WHO HERE IS
T E X A S
>Buffalo Popcorn Heros at Wheatsville
>Talk shop with the sneakerheads at Nice Kicks; seriously those guys are cool as fuck even if their selection isn't great
>literally spend an hour at REI trying to find decent bags/Snow Peak gear
>Get drunk at The Library then proceed to fall asleep on the couches at that burlesque-bar-with-a-crustie-tiki-bar-upstairs
>Wake up and shoot the shit at Kerbey Lane for a few hours
>Not exchange numbers
That would actually happen at an /fa/ meetup in austin
I feel like these'd be remarkably hard to pull off. Most people on here appear to be under 18, so drinking is out of the question. Hanging out in stores always comes off a bit forced too, especially since it's not like anyone is gonna throw down cash right then and there. Most well-adjusted non-4chan adults struggle with meetups like this as it is.
But I'd totally fund a meetup where people on /fa/ were forced to do something totally out of their element, like sending a bunch of 18 year olds in knockoff Rick to a camping trip with a sorority or do the Amazing Race or something. That'd be goddamn good TV.
>sending a bunch of 18 year olds in knockoff Rick to a camping trip with a sorority
They might do better than the sorority. At least they'd be too scared of embarrassing themselves to GO SLOW.
>i started clubbing when i was 15
My parents would have backhanded me so goddamn hard I'd have a deformed skull
>They might do better than the sorority. At least they'd be too scared of embarrassing themselves to GO SLOW.
Man, think about the possibilities. It'd be a TV show I'd genuinely watch. You could have shit go down like:
- /fa/ kid gets all hyped about the depressing weather up until he gets mud on his geobaskets
- Sorority girl hooks up with /fa/ guy, the latter ignores her the next day, cue an entire episode of histrionics
- Discussion of Rick vs. Raf turns into literal fistfight at campfire, someone falls into campfire and severely disfigures themselves, gets pity appointment at modeling agency
- Sorority girl who considers herself a "fashionista" begins to cry as autistic /fa/ kid gets into impassioned rant about how Tori Burch isn't ~like, the best thing ever~
I maintained a list of locations in the meetup threads earlier this year.
These places were all added by anons.
People on /fa/ who are interested in meeting others were located here:
(the list got wayyy too long to post in one comment)
I am also in the Dallas Area
hopefully will be able to join something cool
the galleria is my reccomendation
but I also heard about a store called Traffic downtown that sells some high fashion stuff
Meet ups should be based around some sort of activity, not clothing shopping. Visiting a museum or art gallery, going to a night club, having lunch or dinner at a trendy restaurant or maybe even doing Urbex if the meetup is techwear focused.
There is more brs here than you might think.
What would actually happen:
The /fa/ crew gets on the reality show. Initially they are total assholes to the TV crew, act awkwardly and drop tons of memes. On /fa/, opinions are divided but everyone still watches the show regardless.
Pretty soon however, as they begin to hang out with the production people, they begin to mold themselves to whatever they think is cool. Their internet identity is too weak compared to their new IRL friends and is rapidly lost.
The show ends with the public at large condemning the awkward nerd virgin identity of the 4 chin, while everyone here proves their point by sperging in an attempt to purge the outgrowth that the show spawned.
Actually, I'm not even in LA, more like 45 mins east but it's our closest major city. It was pretty cool last time I organized it but I've been focusing more on school instead of making time to hang with fellow shitposters.
Vancity /fa/ meetup
We need some fun in this culturally dead
I make decent money but never as much as I want, especially given the hours I put in.
>Meet ups should be based around some sort of activity, not clothing shopping.
100% agree. I tend to prefer athletic stuff, if only because it builds quick camaraderie and prevents people from standing around posturing.
Hahaha this is so much better than my idea, 10/10
>exchange face grase though
Dammit where else am I gonna get face grease? I mean other than some slut at A-Town
>she clubbed at like 14
How in the fuck? Is this in Europe or something?
More like hiking, ziplining, skydiving, racecar driving, etc. events. I've done all of those in different contexts, 300x more fun.
One thing I dragged a date on: airsoft stuff, like paintball but more painful and usually indoors. Fun as absolute fuck.
Dude how rad would that be? I had no idea how fun airsoft was gonna be. (That said, I suck at tactics and still have the welts to prove it). It's just kinda scary how good the teenagers there were, some 16 year old kids basically smoked me every round because I'm a lumbering old man and they're goddamn airsoft ninjas or something.
Lots of companies on the east and west coast rent out sportscars and racecars for events, and it's usually not exorbitant if you have enough people. They usually supply staff to take care of instruction/safety/etc. To clarify, I recently drove a lambo and ferrari on a track, and I'm trying to get people down for some sort of redneck NASCAR event where we all wear wifebeaters and drive stock cars (I doubt anyone's gonna be down for that, but I'm trying)
Dallas /fa/m reporting in.
Let's do this.
Who's going to arrange the meetup?
I'm new to this so somebody who knows some cool effay places to hang out.
i was thinking that /local/ could be a good general to add to the board- not necessarily meetup related but have people check in from their cities and discuss local happenings, best stores, etc. although i guess it'd only really work for a few cities
>not são paulo
S Ã O P A U LO
Anyone up for a southern Sweden/Denmark meetup in Malmö or Copenhagen? I might be willing to organize it if there are a few more interested people.
Yah dallas bro here too. Traffic has high end shit as does highland village and northpark. Sadly our barney's closed down it was beautiful. Not that I can afford any of this shit I'm just a fuccboi who likes to windowshop. I'd say a meetup at weekend coffee at the joule would be /fa/.
Victoria but you know we share that 778
Plus I'll be in Van for Contact and boxing day shopping
I dont think anyone is ever talking about the one in WA, sorry anon
what's the best/most efficient way to organize this?
i dont actually post here that much/i'm not that /fa/ but i'll be down to help organize (i don't really want to plan the whole thing though :|)/meet some anons.
I'm not wearing a coat atm its 15°c mainland europe.
Jongens asjeblieft :((((
To my NYC brothers, please recognize the significance of meeting up. I was in an /fa/ group chat, and the shit never came through, and this one lame kept spamming the chat with shit posts.
Dude wasn't even /fa/.
