Here's what I've been wearing pretty much every day lately. I need to get more straps for it, all I have right now is the stock rubber one, this OD NATO, and a similar tan one. The NATOs are from my local watch store, and are nicer than any of the ones I've gotten anywhere else, and are reasonably priced, but they've been out of black ones for a while.

As far as I know a zulu strap is a single piece, a nato has the extra flap of material that goes under the watch and stops it from sliding up and down the length of the strap. Pic related is nato, if you cut off the extra flap it would be zulu. I prefer zulu because they're less bulky since the watch sits on top of one piece of fabric instead of two, but I guess nato is a bit safer.

Not entirely true, a five ring zulu is particularly defined by the two extra rings attached to that extra flap, whereas a nato has one ring on the flap. A three ring zulu is a single piece as you mention, but they're both defined a zulu by their shared hardware and material.

Buying from a boutique store (i.e. buying your Omega from the Omega store) is the most expensive option, they will charge you full MSRP and you would have to be retarded to pay full MSRP. Buying from an AD (authorized dealer, usually a jewelry store or a watch store that carries many different brands) is usually cheaper but still gives you all the same warranty and everything. You can also often find gray market dealers for cheaper still, but those won't have the official manufacturer warranty. Websites may be authorized or they may be gray market, you kind of have to read up on them to see which is which.

For something like that Hamilton that costs less than a few thousand dollars I would honestly stick to gray market, your cheapest option will most likely be Amazon or some other online store.

The strap in the OP is just too minimalist to support the bulk of this watch's face. It looks like a fat girl using twine as a belt. The original strap is burly, but if you're looking for a replacement, I'd shy away from faux pleats in the leather, I think it looks tacky.

Check out Hirsch Massai, They do a really nice ostrich leather band that would work well with your watch.

If you're still around, I'd recommend a PVC composite strap. They share the same shape of the original leather strap, being chunky at the lugs and everything. They are pretty robust and waterproof, and they look far better than a NATO.

I really like the ones I have, they're much nicer than the normal NATOs I've looked at. Great thick, durable nylon, and the hardware is a perfect match for the brushed front of my 173's case.

I don't know where my local shop gets them, though I have suspicions that they might be Maratacs, but it's part of why I'm waiting for them to restock and not ordering something elsewhere.

I also have this tan one and like it as well, but it doesn't go with as much of the stuff I wear.
