I'll start.

Pic related is me(with left being the most recent). I'm currently still growing out my worst decision of the year, getting a buzzcut. Anyway, I'm thinking of going to the barber already, since the sides are a mess and the upper parts are creating an unflattering headshape, since it's all the same length.

However, Í'm not sure what to do with it, I'm thinking of going back to a sidecut (top right and middle), but that will still take some time. So I'm looking for a new haircut in the meantime.

Anyone got an idea?

Black is one of the easier colours to dye your hair. It is, however, difficult to get it to look natural. So watch out if you're going to dye it.

Also, adding some dye to your conditioner(you are using conditioner, RIIIIGHT?), it will prolong the lifespan of your dye job, so you don't have to redye all that often. This piece of advice is dependent on the duration of your dyejob. Is it something you are only doing for a month, or are you going to stick with it until your hair is fully grown out?

To reiterate, use conditioner. WAIT, use conditioner. You're dying your hair, this hurts hair a lot, fill in these blanks '... ...........'

Alright, hope I managed to help you out a bit.

You might also want to get a bathing cap, to avoid fading your dyejob if you shower on a daily basis. Showering with water that's too hot also exacerbates fading.

Permanent dyes(at least, that's what they're called in the Netherlands) tend to last a while, so try looking for those. Your general drug store should have those.

Alternatively, look for henna dyes, those aren't as bad for your hair, still damaging, but less so. Any sort of organic store tends to stock those. Be sure to heck for any henna allergies first though.

Also, you look like fine, it's just that you hair seems to stretch your face a bit more. Maybe fill it out a bit by keeping the sides a bit longer. 'cause it seems to sit there on top, instead it growing out of your scalp.

Where do I go from here?
All my friends pester me to get a haircut(doesn't look nearly as good as in the pic irl) so evidently I'm past due. Here is the thing most barbers aren't really that skilled when it comes to style cuts. Most salons aren't good at fades. Look around and just ask guys where they get their cuts at.

So basically I visit my barber regularly and get a #2 Brooklyn bald fade on my sides. Tend to like how that looks best.

I ran into this same issue about a year ago and started cutting my own hair. I fucked it up a few times but seem to have the hang of it now. Just takes some patience and practice.

Otherwise, it's just a matter of finding pictures of styles that you want. More importantly, find a barber/stylist you can trust (this typically involves trial and error)

Hell, take the pic i posted in if you want. The biggest difference between how it is now, and how the old barber used to fuck it up, is that they never got the fade/undercut/transition area right.

The hairs that fall over the undercut need to be long enough to style towards the back to create a smooth transition effect. Otherwise you just get a crisp undercut line and that doesn't work for everybody.

Looks fine, don't fall for the receding hairline meme until it's undeniable. It's at a short enough length I think you can do the "messy" hairstyle and just gel it up in random which ways. You can maybe trim the sideburns/around the ears if you want to have it look more styled with less effort

Yes, it'll look much better.

You don't have to go too far though, just make sure your back and sides are shorter than on top. I have much less hair on top than you and I get a 5.

i've posted this in other threads but fuck it

my hair is bottom neck length. After a few days of not washing or having a shower at all, it is silkly, looks nice, I don't even have to brush it. But I only don't wash when I'm outdoors or indoors a lot, when I'm going out I don't want to have beautiful hair and smell like shit.

After the shower when I shampoo and condition my hair it is very big, poofy, and is a few inches longer. If i shower the day after that it will still be big and poofy. But without showering it gets shorter and feels nice. I'm thinking it has something to do with the temperature of the water; I have very hot water when i shower but I've heard cold water showers are much better for your hair.


so can anyone with long hair give advice?

My hair is very strong and dense, kind of like pic related, but even stronger. I always cut it to 1 or 2milimetres on the sides and a bit longer on the top, kind of military style but not as "edgy" if you know what i mean. As soon as it grows out a bit, on the sides it looks terrible (hedgehogish), my head looks wide as fuck etc.. Strong wax only helps on the top where my hair is abit softer, but the sides of my head could literally be used to brush stuff.

Do you have any recommendations? I'm getting bored of the same style again and again. Do you know if there's a reasonable way to get your hair softer or can you recommend some haircuts or waxes?

I think this is the longest l've ever gone without a hair cut, and l'm in in sore need of styling help.

Pic related is what my hair looks without any product. I usually put on some hair cream or something to keep the lock of hair from falling over my forehead, but it still looks kinda bad.
