of the ~800 albums I've heard (used to be a /mu/fag) this is undeniably in my top 5. I can't say how many times I've listened to this drunk and started crying like a fucking baby during I Loves You, Porgy. Each member is simply unrivaled in mastery of their instrument, its as if the three players have a single mind and are moving forward in one unified musical direction.... idk
thinking about the fact that these are the last notes that scott played while being recorded just kills me. he's 25 in this. and he's about to vanish from the earth by a fucking tree on the side of the road. how can this happen to someone capable of producing something is purely and consummately immaculate as this album, specifically the last song? It is cruel.
They say that after scott died, bill would ONLY ever play I Loves You, Porgy as a solo piece, and that he played it obsessively.
