Good on you man, glad to see you're trying to improve. In reply to your OP, I would suggest tapering your jeans and getting some better shoes, actual running shoes and jeans aren't the best look! Maybe get some casual sneakers (look at Sneakerfreaker for some ideas). Just keep trying different things, and remember stick to basics. You can never go wrong with well fitted jeans, nice shoes and a simple jumper.
