service boots is okay, engineer boots is another term
historically they're called 9 eyelets becuase a trad boot would be good year welted with 9 eyelets made of a brown leather
however since dayton obv has less eyelets than usual they make up their own names
for an example of a 9 eyelet boot

Technically, those are 7-eyelet plain-toe blucher/derby boots. Terms like "combat boot" and "service boot" are just marketing terms, as far as I can tell.
