I agree with this, but assuming that both shoes are roughly of the same quality:

If you're just going to wear jeans, the desert boots will be more versatile. Brogued wing tips are rad as hell, but sometimes can come off a bit dressy. In contrast, DBs are pretty easily work in a casual outfit.
