>Really love ties; love the way they look, love how they feel when wearing them, love having that little extra accessory to play around with.
>TFW you never get to wear them because everyone in business is getting rid of ties, claiming they're stuffy and old fashioned, no one wears them casually anymore and wearing a tie looks strange as fuck.

Are ties going to be like fedoras are nowadays?
>>
then don't wear old fashioned ties

stick with slim (not skinny) solid/dotted silk ties

go for knitted if you want to make that extra statement
>>
>>10485428
>claiming they are stuffy and old fashioned
that sounds like old people trying to be hip with the kids these days

Men used to dress like pic related; No problem, just another day.

Now they're literally afraid to wear neckties in fear of being called stuffy. Marxism in action, gents. Soon we'll all wear some kind of homgenised unisex trashbag.

Fuck off with this renaissance shit, holy fuck.
Go back to >>10483649 or track down Antonio Banderas and make capes with him or something.

I haven't noticed this. And ties are not going to be fedoras in our lifetime at least
>>
>>10486213
I haven't either. OP, where do you work and in what position? Any corporate position outside of software definitely still requires ties as part of the dress code.
>>
I used to wear ties like once or twice a week at my office but I've stopped and no one cares.

Like others have said, just wear conservative slim ties with simple patterns or stripes.
>>
>>10485428
now that you mention it, ties are the new fedoras tbh objectively
>>
>>10485428
The main thing that makes fedoras so bad is people wearing them with casual clothers. That's not something you can really do with ties
>>
>>10486202
this one looks autismal

I could see how you'd think that from just the picture. You need to see the entire suit in the proper lighting + the actual fit.

Here's a few I have from a while back.

you know better anon

>>10486371
>>10486371

debatable really. button downs with ties are perfectly acceptable in [most] environments.
>>
>>10486390
not so much outside of america though
>>
>>10486358

It was for a Gatsby Mixer in college 2 years ago, but does it really matter whether I'm an exec or not?
>>
>>10486208
Do you have to ask everyone's opinion before you wear a coloured T-shirt?

>Will I look old-fashioned or fedora if I wear these sneakers? Someone please tell me what's acceptable, I'm so insecure.

Tie in a navy shantung silk, works with pretty much everything.
>>
>>10485428
You're in the wrong industry OP. Hipster bullshit startups are killing off suits as much as they can because their employees can't be trusted to dress themselves.

High end consulting, law, and financial business world still expect proper business attire, and failure to dress proper is a death sentence.

Law field is sadly a little stifling, I'm still getting started and young associates are expected to wear conservative colours and style. No fancy socks, bright ties, or patterned suits for me.

Depends on the firm and the context. I know some firms that roll like that regularly, whereas others enforce a much stricter dress code.

Most firms I know of are incredibly laissez faire if you aren't meeting clients, though. Especially if you're making goddamn money.
>>
>>10486688
I have the same experience with law firms. I don't mind that much though.

Ah, the 'I shop for clothing at the gun shop' outfit.
>>
>>10486726
Have you ever even been to a gunshop?

lel
that tie is clearly shopped, the question is, is anything else?
>>
>>10485428
Don't wear anything glenchecked, monostriped, or anything with little motifs on it. Avoid washed out colours like beige and light grey, but also throw out anything pastell and overly bright.
Two navy, two reds, a discreet green/grey and a black one for funerals are all the ties you really need. Use your pocket square if you're gonna fuck around with colours and shapes.
>>
>>10486791
I work at a gun shop. We sell tons of crap like that. That tie is actually Bonart and I think we stock it.
>>
>>10486942
but do you lock stock and two smoking barrels it?
>>
>>10486942
why would a gunshop sell clothing that isn't hunting stuff, milsurp or tacticool shit.?
>>
>>10487031
Maybe he's talking about a hunting shop, not your average American hickville gun shop full of red state flags 'n shit, where you get a free cheeseburger for every cart of ammo you buy.
>>
>>10486908
In all of the funerals I've been to only old men wear black suits and black ties. Everyone else just dresses their best. Wearing black at funerals just seems antiquated now, at least it does coming from where I am in the States. I don't know if you're in Europe or something.
>>
Are paisley ties acceptable in professional enviornments? I fucking love paisley ties I dont care if that makes me a pleb
>>
>>10488362

See there is your problem.
