My fashion sense is practically nonexistent. I know that I dress pretty poorly; I pretty much wear a grey hoodie and a college t-shirt every day, and I'm trying to change that this Christmas. I've read a bunch of guides and looked at a bunch of inspo albums for techwear and streetwear in general, and I still have no fucking idea where to start. Not much has really grabbed my attention yet, and for the things that have, I don't know how to incorporate them into an outfit. I haven't developed that skill yet, I guess.
Some fits (is that the right word?) that I like:
https://i.imgur.com/BXLVwMc.jpg and https://i.imgur.com/6t7942G.jpg. I think I'm into kind of muted or understated outfits with the focus on the shoes, and also anything with a futuristic vibe.
For shoes, I know that I like the Nike Lunarfresh Sneakerboot (https://i.imgur.com/j42pKZl.jpg) since they'd match the kind of outfits that I'm looking for now, and also I live in Chicago so it's getting pretty cold. Speaking of the cold, I'm mirin' these Isaora jackets/hoodies. Can anyone help give me a sense of direction? Is streetwear/techninja an okay place to start with dressing well? How can I make it work well for winter? Also, how the fuck do I synthesize an outfit?

if anyone on here owns these can you help me out real quick? i'm getting the grey and black ones when they go on sale, mainly for layering with shorter length shirts but also on there own. i'm really not sure whether to get medium or large. the ssense model is in medium and farfetch model is in large. i'm 6'3 with pretty broad shoulders, a 37 inch chest and a 30 inch waist.

first and foremost, LURK. I don't know how long but i'd say a month.
It's probably safe to say that you'll need basic tees (everyone will tell you Uniqlo) so you can probably buy those so long. (maybe stick to black and white/ neutral colours at first)
You should probably read the sticky if you haven't.
Lurking will help you find a style that appeals to you. You'll need a nice pair of pants.
obviously, you can skip all this and instantly become an effay meme by buying rick owens and a shit tonne of drape.
point is to keep it under control and dress like yourself. Start with dressing well normally (learnt by lurking) and if you want to move on high fashion from there then do that. After a month you'll definitely have an idea of what you want.

Okay, then do that. TBH men spend more on individual pieces than women do; women's fashion has so many styles and pieces and trends that you can't afford to buy expensive everything. Men's clothing only has a few styles if you know what I mean which is why people buy more expensive, higher quality basics. For example there's no Arc'teryx Veilance for women, no Reigning Champ (expensive basics), I could list countless other brands
