So since the majority of the modeling community is full of "muh rules" retards, how legally binding are the rules these authors set forth on their models?

Obviously no one is going to go to court over r18 model edits, but I could see DMCAs easily becoming a thing.

How much trouble could one theoretically get in for violating their "rules".

The rules are just a way for people to feel special, wanted and to create reasons for them to draw more attention to themself when things go wrong. You're a fool if you think uploading something to the internet keeps it as "yours" in any way. Look at anything digital that's been "shared" or "sold" online. It's free somewhere. It's edited somewhere.

How much trouble do people get in when they pirate Photoshop? games? Movies? That shit all has rules, enforced by huge companys and funding. Some xenophobic jap who made a model has no power over his creation, especially as he used tools he didnt create and the model is most likely someone else's intellectual property to begin with.

None whatsoever!

"Rules" are "rules" and not laws or broken copyrights. If someone creates an original model and puts it on the net for free to download with 759 rules attached, then just go ahead and break them all. It's not "nice" to the original creator, but he can't do jack about it at all.

"Rules" have absolutely NO meaning whatsoever. Rules are in invention from the MMD community with no legal binding in any which way.

If you get a paid model that was created by a company who lives of the money they get from selling the models, even then they can't do anything about your bootleg.

If a creator of a model (paid or unpaid) wants to sue you, then he runs into a bunch of legal hurdles. At first he has to find you. That's already a massive problem. Then he has to prove that YOU committed an unlawful act (stealing, violating copyright,…). Let's say he managed to figure out who you are and you with your IP address downloaded his model from some strange website (just this already is a major undertaking), he now has to find a lawyer that doesn't crack up laughing when he explains that situation. In court he has to prove that he is the original creator of the model, that exactly you were the one who downloaded it and redistributed it. he has to proof that your modified model is actually his…. OMG… There is no way that he would ever win against you in court.

And what is the damage anyway? "Hey, this dude downloaded my free model, made her boobs bigger and redistributed it." I wanna be a bystander in the court room. No comedy show creates more laughs.

Not even Adobe goes after bootleggers. They try to fight bootlegs by changing the selling model (Adobe Cloud for example).

Video games and MMD are single core\thread applications so the numbers of cores don't matter, the faster the better. As for short rendering times and video editing on the other hand you would want an i7, the more threads the better.
The i7s have Hyper Trading which doubles the threads per core while i5\i3s don't have it.

>8 cores i7 = 16 threads (this usually cost 1K USD)
I'd recommend the previous generation i7 (4790-4790K) over a new Skylake i5 (6600K) if you can't afford the new i7 6700K

CPU and GPU both go hand by hand. A slow CPU will just bottleneck your GPU, a 3.4ish Ghz processor would be good for that R9.
More core\threads = faster rendering, editing, etc. literally for a workstation.
You can check this while playing a game or using MMD, you'd see just one or two squares spiking while they all will spike up during rendering >>1870133.

I mean MMM got so many menus and tabs that I barely knows the function, its feels like running 3Dmax for the first time.
The bottom tabs looks like hell to learn and there barely any online tutorial about it.

I also heard that you cant used MME from MMD in MMM.

MMM is nicer to animate in, but last time I checked it didn't have all the visual shit people are using with MMD.

well now the user has released new ones, and from these you can build a nude body, since they share the same torso and body mesh, just in different sizes (the textures are the same too)

Even if you rip game models, there's usually nothing under the clothing anyways. The textures are also terrible. Rigging and emotes are only the majority of the problems.

You need the Japanese/Chinese language pack and a Japanese locale to unrar them.
Or there is a chance that the decompressing program is at fault, update it to the newest version. Or try a different one.
And there is the opstion to download a locale emulator like Ntlea or Applocale ...etc.

Alright this is a super technical question. Forgive me if it's in the wrong place. This is more of a generalized modeling question, but it applies to mmd.

So let's say I have a base model, and want to create clothes and put it on this model, so I load it up into my modeling program of choice. The base model itself is already rigged with its own weights and bone structure.

From here let's assume I modeled a shirt already. It fits the model's t-pose and is ready to be rigged.

How the fuck do I proceed from here? It seems like it would be impossible to perfectly weight the shirt to match the weights of the base model, so that there is no clipping.

Is there some type of automated weight shit that I'm missing? Doing it manually seems goddamn impossible.

How the fuck does everyone just shit out all these different outfits that I see all over DA?

The secret for clothes to not clip is the equation x+1=y. You learned that shit in high school. In this case x equals skin and y equals shirt. The reason why all these people on DA just shit out models left and right is because the equation x+1=y is fresh in their minds since they're underaged.

Actually, it's more that there's a plug-in for PMXE that allows you to copy the weight from a model onto other parts. Easy mode button that requires little to no tweaking, etc.

Its still for noob's/kids because it yields crap results. The closer the cloth layer is the the skin the more important both the skin and clothing matches in typology otherwise you will have skin clipping through clothing when the model moves.

There's so much more then that lol. It has a lot to do with the relation the geometry has to the pivot which effects its speed when bending something like a elbow. It will result in a cord where the objects clip at extreme angles unless carefully weighted. All clothing on a model has 2 points in which it will clip eventually with the skin. Being pro at weighting and adjusting the pivot aka bone location in 3d space is how you push those 2 clip points to the extreme so they almost never are seen.

Make sure the physics are assigned to the correct joints. Also, since it looks like it's just a tie you're working on. The first physic of the tie needs to be parented to the body physic of the character. While the first bone of the tie needs to be parented to the body bone.

I had a premium account. MMD videos are actually a very minor part of FC2 adult videos as a whole. Literally no one would link you buying an account there to watching MMD videos, nor would they have a reason to, or care either way. I got the one month account and downloaded everything that looked decent from there on it, but this was back about a year ago or more. Since then, there has been nothing worth downloading that wasn't posted elsewhere, or already HQ and free even on FC2. Members only MMD videos 9 times out of 10 are not even worth downloading. This is the first time in a year or more that I've actually been interested in having a HQ version of a video from there. It seems that there is actually no HQ version of this video though from reading the comments, despite the fact that it has the HQ button, but I can't be positive because I don't have an account anymore.

I'm not going to pay for a monthly account just to check and see if there's a HQ version of a single video, so I was hoping one of you MMD enthusiasts might currently have access.

Assuming there is no HQ version, or a version with audio, lets hope the creator makes one in the future, because it was made by a very talented and creative individual. Every time I see another boring MMD R-18 dance motion with little to no interesting transitions or scenes, I want to kick the monitor. For god sakes, not having good ass shots should get you banned from the Internet. No one should want to stare at the front of a character for an entire 5 minute dance when she has an amazingly modeled and scantily clad ass right behind her.

Anybody happen to know of a way to change the .fx on a file during the motion?

For example: say I'm trying to make something fade out on frame 170. I'm using NCHLShader2, and that item has a metallic .fx file applied to it. If I just use a slider to make the item transparent, then there's always this strange shadow left behind where the item was and I suspect that it has to do with the NCHL shader.

Is there any way to make that transition work, or do I just have to use a non-NCHL2 shader on the item to begin with?

FC2 is stupid and allows the non-HD video to be left untouched if done correctly by the uploader, while the HD is always re-encoded to FC2's standard, so you'll rarely get HDs that are actually better quality. The one you linked is a bit weird, normal video is tiny but looks untouched although uploader says he uploaded 720p, and HD looks terrible as usual. Here it is in any case.

Does anyone know a way to remove existing weight maps from bones short of deleting the bone itself? I rerigged a model and now a small section of the chest doesn't deform to my liking. But for some strange reason, I can not edit the existing weight map on the bone.
