Sooo I found this on my grandad belongs its like a little safe, how can I get it open?
This is the lock
Dynamite.
>>1228430
Great idea but I would like to keep untouched the thing inside, it looks like is money
>>1228428
Lock pick it. Needle file. An bicycle spoke and hammer. and a print out of a lockpick (to scale)
Then go to town.
if you dont care about the lock just the contents I say jam a flathead screwdriver in there hammer it in and force turn the lock.. it looks like some shitty lock that isnt really made to be 100% secure like todays safes are.. probably just one of those keepsake boxes to hide your diary n shit in....
fuck that lock up bro!
>>1228428
Drill the lock out it's shitty
>>1228427
Give it back, Jamal
>>1228427
Rake it open so you dont destroy it
sentimental value and somesuch
good lockpick practice here if you have ever been interested in it before.
Only brute force your way through if you have to.
>>1228482
I second the raking.
>>1228427
Diamond coated drill bit, vise, drill.
Drill slowly, Start with a smaller bit to line up where you want to drill
>>1228561
That's probably an older lock that uses flat keys. You can't rake those. Need more detail on the lock. Looks like the lock my grandpa has on his bankers case. I gave up and eventually found the key.
>>1228827
Warded lock. Not too difficult to make a skeleton key.
>>1228427
Soo what's up on this safiƱo ?
Did OP managed to open it or not ?
Go past a locksmiths, curiosity might make them do it for free
>>1228427
That is a bank deposit box.
Which means, its probably stolen as hell.
But carry on - 'whats in the locked box?' threads always gud ;)
Op better deliver whats in it
>>1228460
This
>>1228439
bicycle spokes are good for lock picking?
>>1230663
They are if you turn them into a pick
Take it to a .....Lock smith
Please just take it to a locksmith. Don't ruin something like that
Use the key
bamp
>>1228427
OP WILL SURELY DELIVER!

Looks old, more than likely retired and bought from a thrift shop.
>>1228427
Post it on reddit for karma
This thread is almost dead, saving bump, away.
GUYS THE THERMAL DRILL GO GET IT
Will we ever know
That plaque reads
"savings box
Trenque Lauquen's building Bank
branches
Passo and Tres Lomas"
It's from a bank in the Argentine rural town of trenque lauquen.
OP sos Argentino? Was your grandad Argentine?
>>1234866
>old banking box
>Argentina
Please be nazi gold
>>1235321
>Please be nazi gold
Or Hitler's diary for the last 30 years of his life where he replays Barbarossa over and over in his mind, winning the war in multiple different ways and making europe great again, at least for nazis.
>>1235331
Buenos noches mein fuhrer
>>1231049
you have to go back
>>1228427
Hey! some little shit stole my savings box. All I have in there are used condoms.
What's in the fucking box
>this thread
>>1228455
This
Golly-gee wiliker's, OP. Open the gosh-diddly-darn box already!
>all these anons wanting to destroy an antique lockbox
Take it to a locksmith and he will pick it for you without damaging the lock, it's not very expensive and a good one will be able to cut a key too but that will cost a bit.
>>1237991
>>1228427
Obviously none of these suggestions could open it, time to get serious OP
>>1238124
Could just inserting a magnesium strip into the lock and igniting it work? Maybe filling the lock with magnesium powder?
Gonna be sad if we never findd out what the Argentinian had in his stolen safety deposit box.
>>1238211
Hell no. A lock-hole full of magnesium isn't even going to warm up the lock
>>1228427
That's a pretty old lock. This is your change to buy a lock-pick set and learn a new skill. It's really fun. Start with Master, they're simple.
>>1235844
>All I have in there are used condoms
this
Send it to Bosnianbill
How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop? Will OP ever open the box?
The world may never know.
Fuck you OP, you don't warm a guy up and then leave him hanging.
>>1240321
Well you would too if you realized halfway through that it was gay as fuck
Been waiting 2 weeks checking everyday for an update OP.
>>1240610
Me too, can't believe it's been 23 days since his first post. Is it bait once the thread archives?
thermite
Open it! Get on with it already!
I've not been on diy much and I would just like to add my disappointment that this thread has been abandoned by the OP. All that can keep me happy is the thought he got caught by his father trying to break the box open and got a bit of an ass-whoop and internet ban.
Maybe the box was titty-trapped and hitler's shit-covered razor blades got embedded in OP's skull
