Can confirm for panels of that era. That said who knows how the panels of today will last in the future. I have one working that is over 25 years old.

i doubt it op, plus most places you are just babysitting a computer.
save up, buy a lathe, set up your own shop.
but really go to school. you don't need a 2 year course, you can probably find a community college course to learn the basics, see if its right for you.

There's a lot more to machining than being good with 3D stuff.
You need to understand different materials, tool geometry, tolerances, forces generated, machine ability to take the forces, speeds and feed rates, safety, ect, ect.

No one is going to give you access to a machine worth hundreds of thousands of dollars without you knowing these things.
You might be able to get something as a machine operator doing mass production.

Best way to get into it is probably some schooling and learning manual machining methods at a small job shop.

That's just a drill bit and doesn't cover how variances in the geometry effect performances for different materials. There's a multitude of just cutting edge special geometries that each have their own advantages or disadvantages.

i have no idea about pig blood but i think the reason you can eat beef raw is because there is no blood. if it gets blood on it you have to cook it.

i don't know if that is true or if it applies to pigs
but i wouldn't like to put real blood anywhere.

smear it with your own blood so you don't catch anything then clearcoat it

Pig blood is pretty rife with parasites. You could use chicken blood. It's relatively safe in comparison. You can make passable fake blood with a corn starch recipe. I work in a haunted house and it's what we use for large-scale blood scenes. You'd have to google the recipe though.

Heatsinks don't magically make things a different temperature.

They just accelerate the rate that something's temperature conforms to ambient.

If you turned a cpu "cooler" upside down and put an icecube on the contact plate, it would make it melt faster.

You should describe the scope of the project some more. Is this robot supposed to do pathing and obstacle avoidance so it can navigate to you from the other side of a building, or just drive towards you in a straight line when you're in the same open room?

I don't think bluetooth is the right technology for this. It's a pretty complicated protocol so you're going to be limited to using microcontrollers with bluetooth transciever hardware and other people's bluetooth stacks because doing all that from scratch is 1000+ skilled man hours of work. Bluetooth stacks and hardware aren't designed for your application; most won't tell you the signal strength, and none of them will tell you the angle from the robot to the smartphone because that requires putting the bluetooth antenna in a small dish and waving it around, which isn't how bluetooth was ever intended to be used.

Two options I'm thinking of:
Use dead reckoning from your smarthpone's accelerometer/gyroscope to get it's position. Use that as breadcrumbs for the robot to follow. Send position data over wifi or bluetooth.

Put a simple radio carrier transmitter, IR LEDs, or any other sort of beacon on your leg and directional sensors for it on the robot.

GPS and a two-way radio datalink is probably the most straightforward approach, but I'm wondering if acoustic homing might be conducive to favorable behavior (i.e. robot follows sound of a beacon as it reflects and diffracts around corners and such).

Even a few Arduino projects for car and cat tracking etc.
Once you know where it is its easy to follow it.

Do you have access to a video editing program like Premiere?
Use Photoshop, or similar alternative, and create an image with the same dimensions as the video file. Make sure the image is transparent (PNG files work well for this), and import the image to your video editing program and use it as an overlay.

Depends on your heating unit. The easiest thing would be to run a new wire with 3 conductors. I'm pretty sure all wifi thermostats require a common as the power requirements are greater and a battery isn't enough.

Don't believe Nest when they say you do not need a common.

My AC works fine without a common, but I needed ta common for heat.

Really, the only quick and easy way is to use an engineer with extensive knowledge of the lights you're using. The long and tedious way is to try it with the lights evenly spaced, then try to burn a test pcb with that set up. If you're not happy with it move the lights closer together and add a light or move them farther apart and subtract one.

The vast majority of common glass is restrictive to UVA.

I probably lost a week of my life trying toner transfer too. Then I gave it one last shot using a different printer and all of a sudden it worked beautifully. I quickly learned that the brand of printer and toner is the single largest variable in the equation.

Brother is a definite no. Most Dells seem to work well. HP tends to work too. Use the absolute cheapest photo paper you can find, the cheaper the better. Always print high quality, and if there is a special setting in the driver like 'make blacks blacker' then turn it on.

tl;dr toner transfer does work, using the right printer.

We did and couldn't find anything. He has already talked to a mechanic as well, but there is nobody who can come out and work on it because we live quite a ways from the city.

What issue is he having? I've did more than a couple engine and trans swaps on passenger vehicles, never touched heavy equipment but some things I know might apply.
