I'm interested in making some foil proxies for my decks was wondering if you guys could give me some insight into printing directly on the card.

You need a foil printer for that. They print the foil onto the paper backing. It is a special machine.
>>
>>930819
Most people use clear stickers to print on and then apply them to the card. clear sticker labels are available at any office supply store.

Heat pipe with room heate and/or salt

Open all faucets, use anything you can to heat them, run to a big box store and get some insulation for pipes, you need to thaw them before they crack

Hey guys. This window (tilt and turn) doesn't open anymore for some reason. And I couldn't care less but, the top right corner isn't in the socket or w/e. Can stick my fingers through the gap.

Only just noticed it because it's getting cold!

Any ideas on how to fix it? Google didn't help me. Thanks!

Already removed these screws but that didn't help. And I broke the thing because I pulled too hard but I can replace that/glue

push harder?
>>
>>931963
The fact that one corner isn't fully home is probably putting considerable stress on the mechanism which you will have to overcome to disengage the latch.
So basically push harder you weedy little nonce poofter.
Put those screws back before you lose them

Now that warosu has been down for something like 5 days, I'm pretty sure it's not going to come back any time soon, or that we should at least have multiple options.

Anyone aware of an archiver for /diy/ besides warosu?

I'm getting tired of not being able to search for basic advice, and real "forums" are universally terrible.

There's no /diy/ on desustorage, and I also have no idea what's come over them, but they somehow have the delusion that /trash/ is a valuable board worth archiving.

Alright /diy/, I was Googling how to make your own internet connection, and this was the first thing to pop up. Some Brit farmer made pic related for himself.

Is it really that easy? A 4G reciever, a battery, a solar charger, some water proof toolboxes, some cheap lumber, and fiber optic cables? It honestly seems too easy, like I'm missing something. Help me out, /diy/.

Here's his website: http://www.agri-broadband.co.uk/

Thoughts?

Like $180/month for 4g service? I guess that's easy ?

All that shit was necessary. He could have just got an antenna for his 4g pack and put a nice antenna on his roof.

That tower of fuck he made needs some guy wires because there is no way those thin pieces of wood can support all that shit.

Better diy would be a wokfi relay/network of people that want internet going back I to town until you get within range of a fiber build out and paying LOD fees for development to your small business and sending the fat fiber bandwidth down the line.
>>
>>931365
Will work, however to get that 4G with decent data limit will be expensive. And routing that 4G to fiber might not be that easy, also have to get back from fiber to normal when in house. Still, very feasible. But hey, they also sell 4G receivers that output normal ethernet cable, so you could make it even easier.

To anyone as clueless in electronics as I am, this is an amplifier I'm using to build speakers, the point of the diagram in the op is to reduce the ripple from the wall wart powering the amp. The high ripple from cheap wall warts would cause the speakers to emit an irritating buzzing sound.
>>
>>930373
Hi OP, I was the guy who drew that diagram. I'm glad it worked for you, did you not need to use that unconnected capacitor on the desk in the end?

As to your question there was a guy who showed me a technique on how to take iron cored transformers apart (to scavenge the copper wire). The core laminations would not come out but he said that all I needed to do was chisel them out with a hammer and flat head screw driver. 10 minutes later and the job was done.

Another time I had a strange looking connector that I just could not identify even after hours of research. 2 minutes after posting on here and I had the correct answer.

I honestly prefer this place to forums now.

So i just laid down this anti-skid tape. Got the edge sealing compound but havent applied it yet. The instructions say that it needs to dry overnight but its been raining every night here. How do I protect it so it can dry? Thinking about some plastic sheeting but im worried that itll stick to the compound.

I've had to do a bit of work on wires that disconnected or split in these

Was thinking of building one of these IBC aquaponic sytems. What sort of air pump would I need in this? Assuming there'd be about 200 gallons of water in it.

>>
Presuming this is for fish, why would you use an air pump over a venturi?
>>
Oh, didn't know of this method until now. Well that helps alot lol. Thanks mang

So that just requires a water pump then right? Could I get my air flow as well as my flood and drain to the plant bed off just one pump?
>>
>>931168
not that adnon but out of curiosity why does everyone recommend venturi?

Your going to wear the pump out faster and an airpump is also a pretty cheap way to circulate water and add air.

my question is:
how small can i make a hydrolic ram pump? i would like to make a very miniaturized model to test some concepts, but im concerned that the air pressure in the compression tank will never reach a decent pressure. im talking several cubic centimeters of space in there, a few inches tall.

Anyone ever deal with a dog who marks his territory in the house?

Here's the deal: My dog is about 5 years old and was fixed when he was young. A year or so ago I took in a friend's dog while she was unable to care for him. Friend's dog began marking a couple spots in the living room (I'd clean it up as best I could).

That dog is now gone, but he taught my dog how to do this. The two spots are on the corner/leg of an end table and on the corner of my bar.

I recently purchased Nature's Miracle enzyme cleaner to try. What I did was spray/pour the cleaner on the location then cover that area with plastic and plastic bags /duct tape to keep the area wet so the enzyme could get down into the carpet (and wood).

During the 2-3 days I was allowing the area to remain wet with the enzyme cleaner I noticed that my dog was still peeing in both spots! (the plastic on the floor next to the end table had obvious fresh urine on it and the bar that they previously peed on is separated with carpet on one side and linoleum on the other so the urine was also quite visible.

Is there something I'm doing wrong? Do I need to repeat this process and keep my dog away from these areas until they're completely dry before letting him back in?

I got this ipad from my grandpa, but the thing is disabled because of too many pin code attempts. Now trying to restore with itunes forces me to also update the iOS, which would slow down this ipad since it is not the latest (see apple marketing strategy).

So my question, how do I restore/reformat this ipad without updating?

I use pc exclusively, so I can't connect the ipad with another apple product.

Any ideas?

>>
>>931935
You'd think it would, but it doesn't.

So long as you don't jailbreak it, iPad 2 or later will run the latest OS with no bother.

>how do I restore/reformat this ipad without updating?
By definition you don't, because restoring an iProduct mean putting a new system image on it.

If it's set to disable itself when you enter the pin wrong, then *it cannot be reenabled*. The whole point of this feature is so that when someone steals your iPad, they can't do anything but restore it, and if Find My iProduct is set, it won't restore without the owner's password. It would be a pretty useless antitheft feature if it had a workaround.

If (as your question suggests) you didn't actually get it "from your grandpa", it's worthless to you. I suggest you take it to a local bar or library and "lose" it.

Hey /diy/

I wanted to make something like the tesla radiant energy patent for a school project.

Has anyone ever tried it? Is it worth it? What materials did you use for the plates and how high was the voltage?

Any help is appreciated
