Need help trying to screw these bolts in such a tight configuration. Any ideas or specific tool that will help?

The 2 bolts are next to each other in a corner. Adding nuts to them prevents me from apply a box wrench over them. The inside-top bolt has a narrow channel, so trying to use a stubby open ended wrench does not work. Why the fuck did they design it this way?

I'm trying to figure out what the fuck I want to create and sell, and right now I'm fixated on room sprays. I'm your average college girl and figure I might be able to peddle them on campus. However, I have 0 experience selling to people like that, and 0 experience making them. Would this be more of a parfum oil or essential oil venture? I'm trying to figure out how much it would generally cost to make 4oz. of room spray.

Read the sticky

Step 1

Use fucking google

Step 2

Come back with an actual problem, not do my google and maths for me

But selling room sprays to a demographic who is known to be the least tidy or clean seems like a good idea
>>
>>1214308
I'm not worried about the bottling, packaging, etc., just the distinction between parfum and essential oil sprays and how people feel/think about either one
>>
>>1214311
Then research your market we can't tell you fuck all about how a product will sell in an area we know jack shit about.

Heat plus left hand drill bits for when the bolt head is broken clean off, if there is a nub left over or just a super rounded bolt head I've had fabulous luck with easy outs (pic related).

This.
I'll also suggest PB-blaster.

You're welcome.

I have a really fucked office chair, and i want to make into a great office chair. The backrest's crooked, the pneumatic's are fucked, it's fucked to bits. How do i make it great/better?

If you live near a big college campus they sometimes have stockpiles of busted up chairs you could use for parts, or even find a fairly intact one. Or just pay a kid with crippling student-loan debt a few bucks to steal you a brand new one.

Does anyone know if these spinning glass plates/trays are universal for all microwaves, if the overall size is the same? My microwave is ancient and I can`t even really find anything about the model online, let alone spares.

They have to fit the track correctly, not going to be a universal fit.

I'm a disphit, how do I remove this wood part on this desk? The desk is too small for me and my knees hit the wood part.

Red lines are where nails are, obvious to most here.
7 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
That looks like the only real support the desk has. Removing it is probably a bad idea.
>>
>>1213980
The drawers on the right side of that image will probably give enough support.

Maybe.

I only have a power drill and other basic stuff, hacksaw etc.
>>
>>1213980
^
is right.

The panel is there for diagonal bracing and prevents the desk from collapsing sideways.

>I'm a dipshit
>desk is too small

Go on and destroy it and use your lap as your desk, it's probably just as big

Use coving designed for LED strips. Depending on your needs and budget, you can get coving made from polystyrene, plaster or extruded plastic.

Protip: unless there's a significant risk of it getting wet, buy LED strips without a silicone coating on them; the silicone traps heat and causes earlier failure as well as turning a sickly yellow-brown colour as it ages (can happen within 9 months if run continuously).
>>
>>1213715
What would you use to get the overall room that color those led strips? And if so what would you use for highlighting colors like the blue in the image?

I'm a mechanical engineer working in the defense/medical field, I want to buy a CNC machine and other production tools, I want to be able to do everything at home or in a garage. Where do I start? I have a 200k budget but I'm going to finance over years for ~2k a month. Already own a house so it's like paying half a mortgage again. Lathe probably not needed but I do want to be able to thread things, so I would need a tool for that.

I don't think it is worth to buy your own CNC machine. I am sure there are many workshops that would love to sell you some usage time. I am pretty sure you will not end up spending more than 200k in a lifetime making parts there.

Peasant. It's like you want mongols to take your lands.

Hi diy.
I'll be using one of these after the summer. Already know that I must learn how to use a caliber and Autocad. Any other advice? anybody has experience and want to share with someone who's about to start learning this stuff?
I don't know how it is in english. google translates it as turner-milling cutter

>>
In english it's called a 'lathe'.
Basically don't get lose clothing caught in it, lots of people hurt themselves with lathes for some reason.
Spend time learning how to use the various 3-jaw, 4-jaw, 6-jaw, etc types of chucks - as getting your part centered is half the battle.
>>
>>1207717
well #1 is don't kill yourself, 2 is don't kill anyone else.
i shouldn't need to tell you to never ever leave the key in the chuck because anyone letting you anywhere near this thing will drum it into you until your ears and brain explode.
just take it easy, think carefully about how and what you are doing before you do it, which handle to use what way you are turning it etc.
if you want to look like a pro get a little guide book with all the feeds and speeds for various materials and set your machine up properly.
great long big spiral chips are great fun until you have to clean them off whatever they are wrapped around.

don't crash into the job, keep clear of moving parts, wear fucking comfortable shoes and practice leaning over if you aren't used to standing for long periods!

Anybody know how this type of buttons work? Or what they're called? I'm trying to bypass one with a couple of wires for a tripwire but don't know wtf they are. Look like alien technology or something
16 posts and 5 images submitted.
>>
>>1214641
Not sure but I assume the rubber buttons has some metal contacts on the bottom of the buttons that connects those circuit traces.
>>
>>1214647
this is right but if he is really building a trip wire you might be in trouble for assisting a terorist.
>>
>>1214641
Just a basic switch anon. The pad (conductive) makes contact between the fingers and there ya go. Normal push-button switch will work.

>Mechanical aspect of arms, joints etc
like what?
get a maths textbook, read about forces and moments. figure out what you want to lift, check tables of materials for strengths per section to figure out what your building it out of.
>>
You should learn about DH parameters if you are going to be creating the arm controller yourself

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denavit%E2%80%93Hartenberg_parameters
>>
>>1214498
Someone has already done the math and experiments on these things. Why re-invent the wheel?
