Hey there, /diy/
After years of apartment living, the wife and I are finally moving into a big-boy house. I want to start investing in some decent tools that will last for a little while but not break the bank.
The first one I think I'd like to bring home is a table saw. Any suggestions as far as what brands to avoid, models to consider, or if a certain tool has been especially good to you that you can recommend to a new buyer?
I guess what I'm really asking is what someone starting a tool collection should prioritize

Well, telling us the type of electricity it takes, its voltage and its amperage would help us out. Without that information I can only guess. I'm assuming its 12 volts DC and draws under an amp so you can probably get by with a simple rheostat.

Nah not 12V thats the 5V from the USB Port.
I checked it up it should be 0.38A, 1.9W at 5V.

Many years ago, I came across a guy working with a small, all wheel drive articulated tractor. Much smaller than pic. About the size of a 'garden tractor'. It sat pretty low to the ground and that sucker could handle prctically any terrain.
I'm thinking it was a Kubota (orange and I seem to remember the name). But I've never seen a little one like that since.
What's the smallest all wheel drive articulated tractor on the market, now or in the past? This is something I could use.

So long story short, I bought a condo about a year and a half ago. I haven't paid off the mortgage obviously, and it was a 30 year payoff plan or whatever.
My aunt is a realtor so she really knew what was happening. But things have happened and I was considering moving/selling the place. But since I have had the 30 year agreement or whatever, what happens if I want to sell it and haven't paid for the entire thing (basically barely any of it, actually)?
Do I have to pay for the other 28.5 years? Does the bank take it and then when the next buyer purchases, they go through that?
I looked online and I have found numerous, different answers, so I thought I'd ask here.

you have to talk to the bank. the new owner will probably take over your mortgage and pay you the difference if you are able to swing it. if the rate stays the same it should be a better deal than if it is cleanly purchased. if its variable rate there's no benefit to anyone.

Hey /diy/, I broke the frame of my glasses when I went snowboarding. It broke the bridge of my frame. My frame is made of acetat and I want to use acetone to attach the two parts back together. However, with my bad eyesight of -9 I need my glasses through the day. What I have read from the internet seems that it needs to dry 24 hours. I can't go without my glasses for that long, so what happens when I let it dry for 14 hours. Should that be sufficient? Or should I just keep them taped together and wait until I get my new glasses?

Take it out and put it in an empty bowl near sunlight (but not directly)

Could you please suggest a simple finishing schedule to me for my walnut chandelier. I want it to be a very dark but be able to still see as much of the grain as possible. And would you be so kind to include the drying time I need on each step? And could you please suggest products that won't take very long to cure/dry?
Just a quick note I must add:
I already tried to finish this slab of walnut using BLO, then Watco Danish oil, dewaxed shellac and crystalac grain filler but somewhere I messed up and the piece turned not so very great. Some spots seemed to have absorbed more oil than the others. I also followed the instructions out of the cans and I think that led me to working with costs that weren't fully cured. So I've just sanded the piece back to bare wood and am seeking your help.
I live in a basement and don't have access to Very much sunshine this time of the year. Though I have a nice heater in my little shop if that'll help with faster drying time.

Hey /diy/ers. Mind if I pick your brains?
My Mom's water heater fell through the floor of her trailer.
What's the easiest way to get it out of the hole and either fix the hole or come up with a more temporary solution until I can get a professional in there? I was thinking of crawling under the house with a car jack and seeing if that can hold it up long enough. How stupid of an idea is that?

You could try it.
Maybe you can lift it high enough and then slip 2x4s under it to sit it on, where the floor hasnt fallen through yet.
Im not sure how else I would lift that thing, other than typical bear hug removal of it, which would be difficult.

I would like to install a hidden push button switch to override the immobiliser on my car. Reason being is it is a key fob style (pic related)that you push into a receptacle to disarm immobiliser and it gives me the shits
Bonus points if I can retain functionality of the immobiliser as its law over here to sell a car with a functioning immobiliser.

I picked up a Line Trimmer off the side of the road two days ago. It had disintegrated fuel lines and old fuel still in it. I emptied this out completely, rebuilt the carb, installed new fuel lines and filter, put in a new spark plug, and I've cleaned carbon deposits from the exhaust port and spark arrestor.
It now starts, but sometimes bogs down straight away, other times it will run well and idle great. There's a little bit of oil(fuel?) leaking from the exhaust still, and it blows white smoke on idle and blue smoke when I hit the throttle.
Any suggestions to fix the smoke blowing problem or the residue from the exhaust?

That's normal m8, mostly anyway. Two cycles burn oil to lubricate themselves.
Otherwise if it seems like too much smoke it probably just leaked, while it was out of service, from the carb into the muffler coating it and should stop after it's all burned off.
Either way it wont hurt anything except the environment but you offset that by not being the cunt that throws these things away after a season.

Take the muffle off and see what happens. Don't over rev it though. The muffler can serve as a rev limiter in those but if its internally blocked with oil deposits they have to go one way or the other.
If the carb was rebuilt using the old rubber gaskets etc pic related you can have issues. I have tried cleaning them and all but once the are hardened they are never the same again.

And of-course it wasn't as simple as just plugging it in and play.
there are some issues with this system
-only main center speaker works
-cant play sound from tv(samsung)
- digital audio outputt on speaker and optic audio input on tv
