I tried myself but it always ended up being very expensive and i think it could be cheaper.
Only thing that is a must is that it has a i7-6700 not 6700K dont plan on Overclocking.

He doesn't need relays. It's a 4-pole switch so it can turn four things off and on without them being electrically connected. He doesn't even need multiple poles if everything plugs into the wall.

Looking for a quality Miter Saw that can hold up to years of abuse. I've looked through all the big box brands like Makita, Bosch, and Dewalt. I thought I found the perfect saw in a Festool KS120, however they are plagued by motor malfunctions.
Anyone have any suggestions for an accurate industrial grade saw?

Buy either the top of the line Dewalt slider, or the Bosch with the glide arm.
They are both magnificent saws.

Those are actually both the saws I have been leaning towards. I love the XPS light on the Dewalt. Kind of surprising the Bosch doesn't come with a laser or anything of the sort, other than that I actually like the Bosch glide arm better.

I am a bit of a tard when it comes to breadboards so bare with me. When it comes to ground on breadboards I tend to see people attaching the component/jumper wire on the negative rail that has a power supply going through it which toss me off since I have always heard that the power rails are fully powered on all its holes as long as a power supply is going through it, is this correct and those people that I see doing this are tards or am I wrong in this instance?

I have been cracking my brain over this and i need some input,
i have sanded this piece of oak wood untill grain 600, it is smooth as fuck and i coated it,
The problem i have now is that i dont know what kind of legs will look good witht his fucking thing,
i think it is an amazing piece of wood and i want to make legs that fit nicely with it.
Anyone here who has an idea?
It is supposed to become a coffee table

Hello guys, I am doing a guitar refinish project for fun , i made EVH style Purple with Black lines finish , thing is , first of all i have a few runs of paint , any way i can get rid of them without refinishing it again ?
i havent applied a clear coat yet , i have a few questions , i have not touched the final coat of paint , will sanding it with 2k grit ruin it ? should i dry/wet sand it ? spray lacquer or applying it with brush it better , how to make paint glossy ?

When I designed my guitar look, they included some stickers in the box. If yours didn't come with any, just trade it in. The level of aesthetics stickers bring to surface is phenomenal. It really motivates me to try more difficult songs and harder difficulty.

I know this might not be completely /diy/ related but I think this is the best board to ask this question. I'm going to green text it for faster understanding.

So, my theory is that his terrace doesn't actually have any water insulation and that is causing the leakage. What do you think could be causing the leaks ? I'm asking this because I need to confront him about it and tell him exactly what to fix because obviously he is incapable of doing that himself.

To hold my amp and all applicable gear, like pic related. Mine will be shorter and wider (45" high by 35" wide), and will hold the amp, a slide out tray for pedals, and drawers for miscellaneous storage. It will also have a section to slide my guitar case in.
Anyone done anything like this before? Got any advice? The goal is to have my entire rig in one enclosed case that can fit in my truck, and require minimal setup.

You could build something quite similar. It would basically be angle aluminum, plywood, and then 2x2 for bracing inside.
Case work like this requires symmetry for it to be solid and look good, so having a table saw would be be beneficial. If that's not an option, a circular saw with and edge guide would work, but you'd likely end up with more waste. The top and bottom panels need to be the exact same width, and the side panels need to be the exact same heigth, and they all have to have the exact same depth. I'd recommend motoring the corners at 45 degrees, and using a router to create a rabbet(rebate if you're a bong) joint on the back side so you can slip the back panel in snugly. This will help make it more ridgid. If you're going to cover it in tolex or another material you can frame the inside with the 2x2s with glue and screw through the plywood into the 2x2. Solid. Cover holes with wood putty and sand flush before covering. Leaving it bare will require more work, because exposed screws and wood putty look ugly.
Also, if you're doing this because you think it will be cheaper than buying one maybe reconsider after you price materials, those company's get cheaper materials and get them at a discount.
For example, you can buy a decent guitar case for $100, to make one of equal or slightly better quality (at least when I priced it) I would have paid $150.
If you're doing this because you can't find what you want or want the experience have at it.

I've been wondering though about the wood for the walls.. I don't know whether to go with 1/4", 3/8", or 1/2", to me I can't really judge sturdiness from thickness since it will be different when it's all put together anyway. Is 1/4" enough or is it worth it to get the heavier boards?
Is there a type of plywood I should look for that's really smooth?
After I paint the boards, what kind of coating should I put on them?

Hang from the ceiling against the wall. If it's stipple ceiling just put some toothpaste in the holes and paint the ceiling when youre done hanging shit. Actually, just make a tiny hole in the wall and fix it later that way, because it's the easiest thing to fix in a home.

are you concerned about it flaking off all the time?
removing it will take a lot of time & may make the plastic look like shit. put a piece of clear tape over the flaking part and quit worrying about it.

A /diy/ tale.
I'm a hobby woodworker, I make fancy boxes, canes, jewelry and the like. Almost always I wear a dust mask, the 3M kind with the two pink filters. It works great, it's comfortable, the only issue is that it gets humid inside the mask.
Well, last year during the summer in Florida, it was already very, very humid. Wearing the mask made it difficult to really get oxygen because of how damn hot and humid Florida is. So instead of taking a break, I continued to sand and work with black Walnut and other woods. JUST FOR AN HOUR OR SO.
I have a poor immune system, and I work in a nursing home. So after some moist exotic wood dust made its way into my lungs (oh it was there, I was coughing a good bit), I went to work and got exposed to MRSA (the shit's everywhere).
I started experiencing chest pain after a few days and I ignored it (I have chronic pain, I hurt all the time). It got worse. It got harder to breathe because of the chest pain.
I was a tough guy and I waited too long to go to the hospital. They said if I was there an hour later I'd have been dead. I ended up with a severe MRSA infection in my lungs. For the next few days my fiancé had to feed me and stay by my side because of the critical condition. Because of the poor oxygen supply to my brain, and the significant infection, I ended up with kidney failure, heart attack, hallucinations and other issues.
I was 23 years old.
I barely, barely made it back and I had just asked the most wonderful woman in the world, kind smart and cute and an old soul, to marry me. I almost died three times in that hospital. I cannot stress enough the importance of having family or friend with you in the hospital; healthcare workers are often incompetent or abusive. And most of all,
Please wear a dust mask.

wood particles are not like asbestos, metal or ceramic dust. wood dust usually breaks down in the lungs and gets "digested" without incident.
not that you shouldn't wear masks, and use dust collection, you should, but breathing a little wood dust isn't so bad.
my neighbor's husband died of mesothelioma. he was a mechanic who breathed a lot of brake dust. brake pads and shoes are made of asbestos, which causes lung cancer.
never change you brakes without wearing a mask.
if you have a bad immune system, you probably shouldn't work in healthcare. being around sick people can easily make you sick.
I recently casted this mask out of resin, and it started cracking around where the fins meet with the top of the head. Is there a way I can patch this up seamlessly without needing to go through the process of casting another one? I'll post a close up of the crack in a second.

So i need to resurface this head /diy/ style.
Very poor right now, as in 25$ to my name.
The engine i am working on is an EJ25, the Subaru engine notorious for blown head gasket leaks.
This is one of the engine heads, still have to pull the other, it's a boxer style, jsyk.
So i need to get this head down to a 60 ra finish, i can't say for sure, but i believe that it's around 180 grit? If someone can confirm that, it would be much appreciated.
Right now, i have 80 grit and 120 grit 8.5x11 sheets of sand paper, will order 180 sheets if necessary, although i do have smaller sheets, that fit in an envelope up to 4000 grit if a large sanding block isn't needed for the smoother grits.
I know that this should be brought to a machine shop, but im in dire need here to /diy/

If this is a steel head just use a wire wheel to get all the large bullshit off of it then sand it with 160 grit.
Should come out with a nice mirror shine
If this is an aluminum head skip the wire wheel, you will fuck it up, use a brass brush and some kerosene to get the large shit off

If so, no amount of sanding is going to fix that, a lot of modern aluminum cylinder heads can't even be machined if they're warped, they have to be replaced.
If you want to just clean all the gunk off it, use scotch bright and degreaser.

Some time ago I had a tree fall on my main storage shed. I can't afford to replace it or hire anyone to repair it.
I'm here to ask for some advice on how to proceed. My only experience with construction comes from helping my uncle build a garage for my grandmother and that was 16 years ago.
First thing is it split the corner apart. What if anything can I do to get it back together?
