Go to a construction site, where they dig water pipes, heating or sewers. Ask for the manager, and then ask for used materials.

They often use plywood to prevent soil from collapsing down in to the trench. Some plates might be scrapped even though they are fine.. I have salvaged 20 plates this way, often in 244x122cm

Otherwise ask where they mold concrete.

I already know about the compression process and the need for filtering for sulfates, CO2 and particle matter. I more so need to know about dilemmas involved in trying to fit the chamber under the floor and the possible efficiency drawbacks in the size limits

If you want enough gas to cook some food yes but run the engine nope. You would need a lot more shit for that than one person can produce.

do you know of any sources that elaborate on the ratios of waste to produced methane? I'd rather not test this myself

I didn't/haven't learned carpentry but at the construction company I work for they send you to night school for 10 months or some shit to become a carpenter apprentice. Not really sure how the field guys work their way up from apprentice to carpenter foremen though. I think it's the smarts, people skills, and computer skills which separates them from the rest. The carpenter guys that work for the concrete department here generally build the formwork.

I'm just a couple years into the industry though, going to school for construction management. Due to enter the workforce in 2018 full time, hopefully as an assistant superintendent if I'm good enough and if I stay at my company for the next couple summers and transition into a full time position there.

Honestly I'd look around your area and try to find builders that survived the last housing recession. (If you wanna do residential). These are the people that have smarts about them and usually won't lay you off in 3 years cause work dried up and they ended up spending their nest egg.

I became a finish carpenter with no prior experience. I just happened upon it after losing my previous job.

Also generally carpenters don't make shit. So if you wanna have a certain lifestyle you might wanna think about other options after you secured a job.

Your batteries are going to die fast. It's generally bad practice to wire batteries in parallel. You never see any battery-powered electronics with this kind of arrangement.

Cell load balancing is the biggest challenge. I wouldn't use old cells that are likely no longer chemically identical.

Look up info on electric bike forums. Those dudes are pro at building balanced packs, without as much risk as venting with flame.

Start with a real fire in your coal pit. IE, sticks and shit. Kindling level, 1/4 inch around (or 1cm for the luckies that aren't stuck with a centuries old defective system of measurement). Put a few coal pieces on top of it. Let it burn down, slowly scooping more coal into the fire from the edges of your pit. Coal will smother itself if you try to light it too fast, since the tar ooze will make it form into huge masses with no airflow. When you add new coal, add it to the edge of your fire to let it start burning down, and move it to the center only when the tar is burned away.

Also, dont use a hairdryer. The air probably blows too fast and blows too much of the heat away, and it also makes your fire oxygen-rich so you metal corrodes faster in the fire. You want a large vollume of air moving at a slow speed.

If you can make your own charcoal and build a small oven out of fire bricks that works really well. You have great control over the heat. I've tried all kinds of fuels and i greatly prefer it, especially for smaller pieces and knives.

Yeah, this is the second hair dryer that I burnt out trying this. Gonna call it quits until I can save up for a real blower to put in, because my /diy/ attempts at making one have all been less than successful and the idea of coals flying at me at 230mph keeps me from sacrificing an old leaf blower. I'm also going to look into building a new forge, currently it ends up choking itself out with ash and the only way I can get air into it is through a 1/2" piece of pipe.

Figure if I rebuild it with a bigger pipe I will be able put a T in and let it act as an ash trap as well.

Also, as a side note, I think the regulator knob is stuck, the square portion of the knob is missing and I can't get it to turn with a pair of pliers, would that limit the pressure on the gauge?

if the cord wont pull its probably something blocking the blades i would take it apart from the bottom to see if any copper has wrapped around

Search "european 220 volt power strip". I just did and got plenty of hits.

Be glad you have 220, and if you also have three-phase be extra happy. Legacy US low voltage is a hangover from early post-and-bead wiring systems.

Get a empty spray bottle if you can and mix up a good dilution to fill it with. Spray all of that shit down and let it sit for 15mins, then wipe down. If the smell bugs you get a bottle of whatever generic cleaner you can find for the cheapest (that the smell of doesn't bug you) and use that afterwards.

use a mix that is 95% water and the rest bleach.

Not wanting bug droppings everywhere is normal, but bacteria doesn't really do much of anything unless it is placed into liquid water.
