how to find the right angle
the board is cut at an angle of 30 degrees and a wall 45
How do I find the angle to combine both boards equally?

Not to be a jerk, but Google. "How to figure compound angles"
Hi /diy/,
My badge in the picture has become too worn on the pointy end for the clip to grip. It comes off with a bit of light jiggling. Is there any way I can fix/rescue this badge? It has a great deal of sentimental value to me.
Thank you for your time.
Size? Might be easier to attach a new pin to it
http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/161320765607
Something similar, shouldn't be too hard to find one the right size
Take a dremel or really small file and carefully make a new groove on it
Rough the pin up a bit and then add a coating of something to it. Even paint could work for a while... but would recommend an epoxy, superglue, or some sort of jb weld type of adhesive that sets up. Just a light coat. It will increase the diameter of the pin and make it have more texture so the clasp can grip the back again. (alternatively, just try a new clasp? old one may have lost some of its grip strength over time)
What are these measurements in? Specifically the 166.4 on the right/top
It's a Bartop arcade

Missed all of those other numbers appended with "mm" didya?
>>1025683
How can it be only 63.6 mm from top to bottom, but 166.4mm on the top part of the cabinet?
This is a Roth Steyr 1907 stripper clip.
They sell for $100-$200.

Think of a way to make them. So you can sell them for less than $100 and turn a profit. while being mindful that it will small batches.
Fuck you OP, if you want to make money, you go do the legwork. This is /diy/, not /doitforyou/. Go take some sheet metal classes.

You pretty much just told Ian of forgotten weapons, /k/s god, to fuck off, you dildo.
Mind your manners when we have an actual pro here. We don't see that often.

They always seem flimsy and narrow and I always imagine falling off them.

Big enough that me carrying anything of substance will overpower these tinfoil ladders.
Also, have to crab walk up these steep stairs cause my thighs and knees just start hitting everything.

An actual fixed stairway, built to the appropriate building & fire codes for your location.
>these things look like they'll buckle
They are not going to buckle, you fucking sperg.
I have an awful lot of disks but I don't know what do with them.
I searched a little if I can do something useful but everything I see is some art attack kind autistic shit. Idon't want to make trash.
any ideas please? otherwise I'll dump them.

does pic related float your boat?
Interested in dipping my toe in the water with DIY analog synthesis, eurorack format. Some questions:
1. Is the voltage per octave a set standard 1v per octave? How does this tie in with the PSU that powers multiple modules?
What's the best way to learn the fundamentals of the electronics involved
Any general advice for someone looking to GWR started in this.
you already have a computer which can do more than 1000 synth circuits without once burning your fingers on a soldering iron. it's not 1950.

this board is called /diy/ - Do It Yourself, not /ddiy/ - Don't Do It Yourself
>>1020569
Exactly this
Hey, /diy/, first time posting here.
Here is a gimmicky camera with a flippable lens. I don't do anything with it, so I wanna spice it up a little. Does anyone think this can be modded or be made to look cooler?
>>1027537
Yes, put some led strip on it controlled by arduino, and then build a container bunker inside so you can make a damp proof layer that will stop that stink coming out of this thread
>>1027537
why do you want to make something look cooler that you don't use
Put some stickers on it, mate. Bitches love stickers.
Above a billiard table, I'm looking to craft and mount something similar to x2 of pic related.
With two bendable laser diodes each projecting a line, I'd be using this setup for instructional purposes to train and teach reflection/strike angles and other billiard drills.
I have seen pre-made laser diodes packaged with "360°" mounting kits (most of them are just 2-axis, which won't work**). I figure I'll need a bendable, pose-able method for manipulating the lasers to line up shots and demonstrate angles.
A couple questions:
What is the technical term for the corrugated bendy tube in pic related?
How would YOU implement this solution, knowing over-head power is no obstacle, and to do so in the cleanest fashion?

- prob rebuild something like link related, these are used for rack/PA sound mixer/etc. lighting, has electrical coonections through the shaft, and build quality should be good enough for your uses - usually known as 'gooseneck' or 'flexshaft' - maybe more 'technical' term, but, cannot think of at present.
How you planning on mounting this, side attached? Shouldnt you just be using one, and a mirror - bit confused, why the need for two lasers?
>>1027498
look at machining coolant hose
usually blue
you can make it as long as you want by clipping it together and its all bendy but holds its shape really well
might look a bit shit though
I'm actually thinking one of these over the table. Hear me out.
Accessory storage, transformer/battery concealment, downlight options, and overhead replay/respot camera might just make a lame pot-rack good to have.
I really appreciate the suggestion. I could flush-mount a bnc bulkhead through this rack for a really clean install.
Any boatfags no what the hole on the left is in this pic? I'm replacing the transom on this bass boat I just bought and have no clue what this is. Middle hole is obviously the bilge drain and the right hole is a hole for the aerator pump for the livewell. The tube is steel and is capped on both sides.
>>1027486
Another drain? I don't know why your bilge drain is sealed as that makes no sense.
>>1027517
The bilge drain isn't sealed though, it's clearly wide open.
>>1027525
Sorry on my phone it looked like foam.
Try unscrewing the cap.
Itt: designs you made and are planning on making.
I have this one, semi based off the saw gun from dead space, but it has a fixed blade and a small engine on the wrist
I drew a shitty sketch for a visual idea

>>1027321
What are you on about?
I recently got my new debit card but i didnt choose the design (which is a lion) i was wondering if i could customize it my self im only doing the front
I plan on plasti dip the front of the card (while protecting the chip, bank logo and the viza logo which is going to be a chore) then i plan on using a gold sharpie and passing it over the numbers what do guys think
Yep you can no problem!
Do it OP, let us know how it turns out.
omg
what a fantastic life hack
Hey guys. Last week I made a very shitty table. Tonight I'm making a new chicken coop. I've 11 chickens and they're getting too big for their coop. So far I have the bottom frame done and some perches. The drill keeps dying so I have to go little by little.
Up next is getting the rest of the vertical frame screwed in, then the top horizontal part.
This is coming along much better than the table. I will be surrounding it with corrugated metal on the outside and chicken wire on part of the front, as well as a roof.
Never built a structure like this before, this is of my own design as well.
Any advice for more with it?
Why not treated for the boards that will touch the ground ?
>>1027271
They won't touch the ground. I have cinder blocks set up and I will be putting in a sheet of treated plywood for a floor.
>>1027236
Is that frame just for the coop or for the run as well?
>corrugated metal
You sure that will be safe?
It will get hot as an oven in there during summer and the cold will lower the egg-production by a lot during winter.
A questions to all the carpenters and furniture makers out there. Why are almost all doors made of Particle Board?
Is it even technically possible to create doors made completely out of MDF? If yes, what are the advantages and disadvantages of doing so?
How does MDF compare to particle board, when it comes to holding the long screws for the hinges? (screws L=10cm)
>>1027106
Because a solid MDF door would weigh a 1000lbs.
>>1027110
No, it wouldn't. An 8cm thick 1mx2m door made completely out of mdf would weigh 160kg, most heavy duty hinges can hold that with ease.
>>1027114
>160kg
So what would be the benefit of this, exactly?
Sup, /diy/.
Just had a thought about a project I'd like to start.
Thought it would be a fitting thread for /diy/ too.
Making your own binoculars.
Is it a plausible idea?
The biggest issue is getting a porro prism setup working properly.
I can see the zoom being made easy with interchangeable eyepieces.
It would be really fun to make something outrageous for a smaller price than what's available to buy complete.
But I do understand that the glass would end up being expensive.
Has anyone here tried this out and got some insight?
>>1027098
Building a telescope would probably be a better thing to do.
>>1027098
>>1027102
This.
Or alternatively i'd recommend building a video binoculars. Get two camera modules (Just get a sharp or sony HAD so that the image is not noisy), s-mount (M12) lenses and two LCD modules. Add wiring, power and viewing lenses.
From here you're just a few steps away from stereoscopic night vision and various other fun DIY things.
