How do they work yo?
Just bought first apartment and need to know who the "Shakespeare of architecture/interior design" is so I can copy his style.
another analogy:
>Theocratic Age
d'Orbais / Michelangelo / Dante / Josquin
>Aristocratic Age
Boulle / Claude / Racine / Mozart
>Democratic Age
Pugin / Delacroix / Melville / Wagner
>Technocratic Age
_____ / Welles / Pynchon / Stockhausen
Fill in the blank with the designer's name.
you are quite possibly retarded. it's an apartment, who gives a fuck?
>>1102921
Corbusier or Mies or there about
>>1102922
>it's an apartment, who gives a fuck?
Why would you consider aesthetics to be an irrelevant consideration for apartments?
All my plumbing has to fit under a door with 5/16" clearance (supply and drainage). This is because I'm incredibly autistic and don't want to leave my room (or maybe just because I like tinkering.
The drainage pump I'm using is self-priming and gets decent flow rate with 100psi through a 1/4" tube, but more recently I've been playing around with vacuum canisters which make it simpler to drain the condensation tank from the airconditioner and give the possibility to drain into container to make sure food or other debris doesn't get into the pump.

Is that your mom's basement?
>>1096228
If you're such a recluse, who drives the Toyota?
What is the purpose of all of this? To route water to your room?
And what the fuck are you doing with all that shit for a condensate pump? Run the water into the coils of your fridge and increase the efficiency at the same time.
Is there any kind of paper/paper-like material that:
Is transparent
Is able to be printed on (or at least draw on with ink)
Wouldn't interfere with a touch screen
Specifically, I was thinking about putting a transparent sheet on the display of my Blackmagic 4K with lines on it (rules of third, golden ratio, etc.) to help with shot composition.
Vinyl
There is transparent film for laser printers.
>>1107732
That sounds like my best bet, as far as getting it right. Would taping it be the best way to put it on the display?
Soo... yeah?

I do tons of small home improvement projects throughout the year to get my house looking better and better. Happy to share some of my lessons learned and results and hopefully you guys can do the same. Who knows, we might even learn something from each other.
Today I installed a small ventilation plate in my bedroom. Right behind it is the chimney (double insulated tube) and the wall was getting warm anyway so I thought why not let that delicious hot air heat my room. It was also the excuse i needed to buy a multi tool. Managed to pickup a Black&Decker MT300KA for 75eur and 20eur cashback.
Install was easy, I leveled the ventilation plate and used a picker to mark the drill holes. Then i used the multitool to cut out a hole smaller those drill holes (about 1.5cm smaller) so i was sure the ventilation plate would cover the hole. Then installed the plate and presto done.
Went exactly how i hoped and i knew the multitool was perfect for this. Good start of the year!
>>1107428
I know jack shit about doing work around the house so this might come off as a dumb question but: wouldn't the plate let the chimney's smoke fill up your room?
>>1107428
>delicious hot air heat
This is where you fucked up because it doesn't have circulation, you have put a hole in the wall for nothing
I'm making a bluetooth speaker, and I'm currently making a case for it. I bought a 2' by 4' peice of MDF, think it's 1/4" thickness. My plan is just to make a rectanglular prism and glue all the peices in place with gorilla glue. Also planning on spray painting it black, or potentially getting some hardwood to put on it after and then staining it so it's a nice dark color.
Should I use a different glue or is gorilla glue okay? Does shape really matter?
I also read some mixed reviews of MDF online so should I switch materials?
Pic unrelated
>>1107362
Gorilla glue is garbage. Its especially garbage with wood as it expands.
Regular wood glue will work better
MDF is fine, dont get it wet
>>1107362
Use wood glue and mother fucking clamps for days. I'm serious. Use all the god damn clamps. If you don't clamp it then the shit will fall apart.
>>1107378
Id like to see someone try and not clamp anything that has gorilla glue on it
Oh, I can't wait to get my free -$100 discount.
Where do you buy bulk metal stock? Does McMaster Carr deliver to residential addresses or not?
McMaster will deliver anywhere, but their metals are overpriced as hell. Find a local place and you'll pay less than half what you would online.
your local steel stockists will deliver to wherever as long as somebody's paying and the trailer can fit.
a better question is where are you going to borrow the forklift from? an 8x4 of half inch plate weighs 650lbs.
>>1107106
>Where do you buy bulk metal stock?
Alro and Alcoa
How would a DIY newbie/retard go about making something like pic related except in the grass?
>>1107090
The exact same way, but in grass.
probably just better off and going out and buying one. Theyre pretty cheap these days and plus will probably have various handles and grips so you can switch up your workouts from time to time. Good luck in the new year brother.

Hello /diy.
I'm turning to you after google failed me. I'm planning to make a board with some Cherry MX switches and when I played around with my scope and probes I noticed that they bounce sometime.
I would like to get rid of it, and I kind of did with some simple RC filter. The bounces are nearly gone and very rarely reach a suspicious value.
I did my RC with 10kOhms and 100nF and I would like to know if the values or R and C matter, outside the fact that the RC time should stay the same. If I had used 100k and 10nF what would be the consequences ?
Thanks for your help.
It would change the rise and fall timing but keep the same pulse duration. Overshoot and drop will come into play when you get to either extreme.
You can software debounce by sampling a few points in time near eachother and once all of them are 'near' eachother in value you can say the signal is settled and legit.
If try to smooth it with caps im pretty sure its gonna make your signal climb slower but seem smother. But isnt is likely that its gonna fuck your threshold voltage values up since it wont climb as rapidly?
>>1107056
Who can it change the rise and fall time without changing the pulse duration ?
The only difference I see is the amperes passing through but the tension will be the same (or look identical) if the RC time is the same.
Hi guys i have 3 3M respirators and i want to at least personalize 1 of them for airsoft pourposes, i want it to look intimidating/tacticool. dont have much around the house since i live in an apartment in East EU but i can get a few things if i search
pic related is me during a winter game
Spray paint it black & stick nails out of it. Mad max style
>>1106992
i was thinking to either paint it black or OD green but i dont know what to say about the nails part, dont wanna fall and wake up with no teeth, but sounds cool anyway (just so that im not confusing what you say, stick nails like...with glue right?)
>>1106988
Decide what style you are into: realistic military, sci-fi, steampunk, biopunk, post apoc, etc
Realistic: paint it black or match the camo pattern, sharpie with white pen a skull on it if you want
Sci-fi: Cut and stick patches of aluminium tape over it
Steampunk: glue some brass tubing all over it
biopunk: extract the bones from a chick breast, or left overs after you eat it, then glue the bone and tissues all over it, optional spray it red
post apoc: sand paper all over it, spray paint it brown, and then sand it off so it looks rusted
easy mode: black sharpie all over it
im adding an electric starting system to my generator. it comes with a charging system for the starter battery that consists of a coil (or 2 if you buy another and can double the amperage or the voltage depending on how you connect them) attached to the housing underneath the flywheel that use the magnet rotating around to generate current. want to use a cheap buck boost controller to regulate the voltage to a constant 14v as the voltage varies based on flywheel speed, but as this is for a generator the rpm should be mostly constant but still a buck boost would cover both bases if the voltage runs above or below 14v (no way to know until you actually measure it at speed).
>the coils face the same direction relative to the rotation of the magnet, this should generate pulsed dc so no need for rectification right?
>should i worry about voltage spikes or emi to the controller from the coils? what should i use to handle them?
>im going to add capacitors to the coils to the controller for trying to filter the output, but how do i figure out how much capacitance i will need or is it trial and error?
>any other things i should be considering that i overlooked?
pic related is how the coils look under the flywheel.
>the coils face the same direction relative to the rotation of the magnet, this should generate pulsed dc so no need for rectification right?
No. Pulsed AC.
>should i worry about voltage spikes or emi to the controller from the coils?
Once again pulsed AC.
what should i use to handle them?
>im going to add capacitors to the coils to the controller for trying to filter the output, but how do i figure out how much capacitance i will need or is it trial and error?
Trial and error unless you want to be massively /sci/ about it.
>>1107391
Why would they make ac if they were facing the same direction? I mean it not as in they're both facing upwards, but they're both the same direction across the axis. So the magnet would go bottom to top on both coils.
>>1107438
Induced voltage depends on the change rate of magnetic flux density. Unless you figure out how to constantly increase the density (protip: you can't), you won't get dc from a coil
Let's talk about field mouse mazes. This really is some weapons grade autism.

Can you /diy/ aluminum sheets?
Do you need rollers or can you cast it?
Does cast aluminum have the same strength as rolled?
>>1106707
>cast
beware the bubbles. gove up on this.
>strength
rolling is stronger, atleast that would be logical.
>>1106707
yeah you can cast a sheet you can, 99.9% chance you fuck it up an you will fuck it up
its bether to make a block and roll it to needet size, its imposible to cast perfect sheets of metal just buy it or get it somwhere
I just bought a chest freezer, and I already don't like that I can feel the exterior chilled.
How can I add more insulation and what kind of NASA grade insulation can I add to keep my semen collection fresh?
I'm kidding, I know about aerogel and I also know its price but I am looking for ideas other than wrapping towels around it.
>>1106703
...maybe it got through QC without any spray foam insulation
wrap some fiberglass batts in plastic and put it around the exterior
>>1106705
This. Take it back and spend a few more dollars on a better model or a unit that isn't screwed up. You shouldn't feel any coldness on the outside.
>>1106764
I have a cheap model and it feels slightly cold on the outside of it.
I think its just the fact its a cheap freezer, not some defect.
I mean these dont even defrost, you have to periodically manually defrost them.
They work for their intended purpose. I have mine set at the stock temperature and it keeps my icecream hard as a rock. There is supposedly room to make it colder, and I have a ton of shit in it.
You cant expect too much from a 125$ freezer
