hopefully it doesn't mean they're going to go even lower quality....I have craftsman stuff that has worked just fine
I came here just to see if someone had made a thread. I am worried too anon, I am worried too.
>>1109938
I don't get it. Craftsman and Kenmore are the only reasons to shop at Sears. What are they going to sell? Ladies clothes?
>>1109938
I don't even understand what they plan to do with Craftsman. They already have Stanley, Black & Decker, DeWalt, Bostich, among others. Craftsman seems to line up directly with at least one of those brands in each category, aside from maybe their clothing line. Is this just consolidation and nothing more?
I have no tools at all, except for a hammer and measuring tape. How can I build a simple computer desk like pic related for 40 bucks or less? would it even hold shit or just collapse? I live right next to a Lowe's
>>1109796
Easy, one inch thick plywood, nail the sides to the top, done
>>1109800
okay brb gonna go look at their plywood
U might need a saw of some sort, recommend a circular saw
Fucking love cardboard + hot glue. So much you can do. Built myself a table, computer desk, and computer cooling system for the cost of hot glue + scrap cardboard + several pieces of junk wood. Really don't even need the wood, folded cardboard is fairly strong.
What have you guys made with these wonderful materials?
Pic with the computer housing open.

Don't know who built the place but nothing is lined up, I highly suspect they may have been drinking. I have no other explanation. Its wooden paneling painted white, not drywall.

This is a human spine. As you know already you need to sit straight to have a healthy back.
The problem is that most of the office chairs are badly designed.
So let's start working on a superior DIY office chair.
Some important points:
>It has to be comfy
>It needs to to be curved in a few places so the spine could be in its natural position
>You have to sit in a half lying position (sitting is unnatural position and the gravity could help you to straighten your back like on a bed)
I'll post my ideas after I "design" them in Photoshop
>>You have to sit in a half lying position (sitting is unnatural position and the gravity could help you to straighten your back like on a bed)
Yeah I love using computer desks while lying down. -_-

I don't see a problem in making a place for a laptop. In the worst case scenario it would be only 2 pieces of wood a small pipe and some screws.
Any radio operators/HAMs on here?
I've heard that you can use MURS without a license and that some forms of analog encryption are allowed as well as digital data.
Is it legal to send digitally encrypted data over MURS?
You're talking about the walkie-talkie frequencies. You'll be fine transmitting encrypted over that as long as you aren't obnoxious with it.
>>1108891
In a word: No.
FCC does not allow encryption. Digital modulation yes but no encryption.
>>1108957
Why doesn't the FCC allow encryption?

Spiral wrap the cord on your powered site tools to prevent kinks, knots and add some minor abrasion protection. I heatshrink the ends to keep it in place. Have done ever since a neighbour tangled my shop vac to fuck and cut into the cable some how.

If you need to fish a cable in a cavity wall, form a loop with a piece of spare cable and place it into the hole, then drop a plumb line from the top. Pull the loop back out to retrieve the plumb and use the string to pull the cable.

Hello /3dpg/
Parson my ignorance, first time poster, but I'd like to build pic related
I don't have a 3dprinter, but I hear UPS does prints. Anyone have any experience with that? Or any other suggestions? It'd be my first build, hell I'd pay someone to build it, but I wouldn't mind trying myself
Any advice?

Already starting off strong
This is pic related
I don't have room, nor the budget, to place a big "plaatschaar" (not sure what the English name for it is, looks like pic related). So what would be the best option to cut steel plating up to 3mm for distances of let's say 50-100cm?
All I have at the moment is a simple angle grinder.
Other options I was thinking about: jig saw, metal shears, reciprocating saw.
What do you guys recommend?
>>1108254
angle grinder w/ abrasive cutting disc (maybe with a jig to make long straight lines )
Another question:
Is this kind of tool capable of cutting sheet plate or only steel plate with a shorter width than the blade of this tool?
>>1108254
Just get a small metal bandsaw
G/ retards didn't post shit like usually when it's about some real question.
So, I am making simplified oscilloscope, and i don't know how to retrieve specific data from samples array. It's about triggering ofc.
Im not asking for ready code in any particular language (i use bas for xmega...). More like easy algorythm. I need like retrieve 3 or more samples that are related and in a row or in a short distance, like there are 3 samples in a row and one after one is higher or lower than first, or like 3 or more aren't higher than some level.
I just don't know. I was trying finding it in for and if's loops conjoined but it was working like once in a time. It was useless, embedded comparator or comparing register in adc also didn't work like i was expecting. Time between occuring rising moment and detonating interrupt was too long and pretty random.
>>1107448
>I need like retrieve 3 or more samples that are related and in a row or in a short distance, like there are 3 samples in a row and one after one is higher or lower than first, or like 3 or more aren't higher than some level.
not really sure how this is supposed to work but i'd try whatever you're doing in C (in something like visual studio), feed it random data, and step through it so that it works as intended. then figure out why it isnt working in that other language
>>1107448
put log/print statements everywhere until you understand the flow of the code. I would try and make sure you can capture all samples before you worry about capturing subsets of samples.
>>1107656
Thats exactly what i do. I collect 3000 of 8bit samples to array, and then i try to operate on them, i was coding like 3 time if condition, if that 3 ifs were true then jump to copy to buffer from place that those 3 samples were found, but worked like once for 2-3 seconds or something which was nonsense.
It was something like:
If sample 1 > 50 then
if sample 2 > sample 1 then
if sample 3 > sample 2 then
jump to recopy buffer to itself but from sample 1(and that number was supposed to be found)
else
do nothing
end if
end if
end if
So I'm in the market for some new power tools
I work at a family business as a plumber/HVAC and the power tools I currently have were all given to me by my father a long time ago.
The problem is that I'm not sure which tools I want to be corded and which to be cordless. The only set I'm sure of is the hammer/impact drills, which I definitely want to be cordless.
Tools I plan to buy over the next six months
>Jigsaw
>Skillsaw
>Sawzall
>Angle Grinder
Ideally I would make them all cordless, but that will cost a lot more money and I don't know if it's worth it.
>>1107145
it really depends on how much you are using them.
With that being said, I would get them all corded. I own all of those tools and they are all corded.
I own a cordless angle grinder and have used sawzall before and they are both garbage.
I use cordless for tools that I use constantly, like a drill, driver, leaf blower (literally the most used powertool I own and good for everything from cleaning the shop to starting bbq fires).
Corded for tools that I don't use that often, like skilsaw, jigsaw, sanders, etc, because they should last me for decades.
>>1107145
i would def get a corded grinder

Hello /diy/nos,
i got some HDD's lying around, and i wanted to build a rack, wire them together and connect it to my PC over a patchcable.
But how to wire them together?
The rack ain't no problem, but the wiring of the HDD's.
Thanks in advance!
mr. trump, give me a bump
>>1106027
that doesn't exist, you need to build a server to do that, you can buy the components separately, even if you build the rack by yourself
>>1106048
so there is no possibility of creating a "cluster" without any server?
