What would you recommend me to do with my boring life?
I don't accept this kinda suggestions:
>kill yourself
>read books (i've done this since i am 15)
>do some productive (i want to, but productive>boring)
How much money do you have?

Learn music
1, Start with piano & learn theory, the most interesting part of music.
2, Learn to sing, this trains the ear so you can hear intervals and separate instruments etc. is basically expanding your sense of hearing
3, Learn bass, learn to walk a bassline and improvise and read chords.
4, join a band, have the best fun you can have as a human regularly.
give it a year or two to get to that point if you're committed
>>1125015
we cant tell you who you are. if you want to make something, ask the question. if you're just a boring loser with absolutely no creativity or drive to do anything with your life, there are plenty of other boards for that.
Hey there from /sci/
How do I cleant my lab coat? I have some autistic friends who painted a bunch of dicks and swastikas on it. If it wasn't for local legislation, I would have actually kept the swastikas. I want to remove mainly marker stains. I consider bleaching at the moment, but the internetz say, that it will damage the coat and shit. Label claims it to be 100% cotton.
>>1124994
Peroxide might work, diluted bleach, maybe 10%, should also get it out. Its just sharpie or something, right?
Sharpies hate rubbing alcohol...
its not worth it, buy a new one
Can someone tell me what those little plastic pieces inside the cabinet are called? You put them on the two corners where the cabinet door hits the cabinet frame so it kind of softens the closing and doesn't make as loud or a sound.
>>1124878
soft closing cabinet hinges
I dont see any plastic bumpers nor do you need them if you have soft closing hinges.

Me and my fiance are making our own wedding rings but we're having difficulty figuring out where we could buy investment and what kind of investment we'd need for the casts if we use silver for the rings. Do I have to order it online or can I get it somewhere? What kind of investment do I get? We're using 3d printed molds for the cast.
you can buy sterling silver anywhere. online or local. it will cost more than bullion silver per troy ounce but silver bullion is 99.999 percent silver and not suitable to jewelry.
that ring looks uncomfy as fuck, but neat. just make sure it doesnt have hard edges or it will be uncomfortable, a rotary tumbler with stainless steel pins would soften it too (ammo reloaders),
unless that is a dragon cock ring [it is 4chan, sorry i literally had to]. i think it looks cool
probably shouldnt have the cast with the numbers, have that part engraved in later but IDK
>>1124571
>d u r p wut investment?
Hint he's not talking about commodities
OP Try rio grande
>>1124507
Did you try google?

Doesn't that kind of intricate pattern pretty much require vacuum or spin casting?
Well lads, have told 4 people about my new boat idea and all 4 laughed at me.
Yes it's a bit fucked, but there are a ton of positives.
Essentially i'm turning a crown vic into a pontoon boat. Pic related.
Aside from obvious lols i see a long list of bonuses and no real problems here.
>a very common custom car for cops and hood rats alike
>tons of available parts and cars on cl
>aftermarket means 2 or 3 stock alternator setup for power accessories
>plenty of room
>small aluminum v8
>plenty of power at a descent mileage withboverdrive and reverse
>can lighten it up a lot.
I really dont see the problem here.
A junk crown vic can be had for about $1,000 on cl all day long. Same with a junk ass pontoon boat.
Fucking phone... pic not related at all.
>>1124434
>spends 10 minutes wondering wtf, trying to construe a vasectomy joke out of floating cop cars, fails.
>finally reads OPs last sentence
it can only get better anon.
make sure to not junk the sirens so S&R can find you when you drown
Think real hard about how you're going to keep it upright.
Does an used car battery has any /diy/ utility? Also do they have any value for scrapyard?
They are worth just as much as lead. At my scrapyard I get 0.5$ per kg of battery
Off the top of my head..
- NiG-welding
- Backup in the trunk for big car stereos.
- Alarm system with IR-detector wired to 12V fog horn.
- For diagnosing faulty 12V appliances.

I received an older Singer sewing machine in trade a while ago and was setting it up to do a few projects. I discovered that the belt for the bobbin was disconnected and after replacing that the machine would make about 1.25 revolutions and then stop. I did some looking over and found the wrong size needle was in the machine and it would hit the bobbin tray not allowing it to go further. After replacing the needle with the correct size the machine will run about 3-4 revolutions and then just stop.
Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this?
>>1122529
Have you found a manual for it? They had pretty good maintenance and troubleshooting sections. Also, have you oiled it?
>>1122529
It came with a manual and I have used 3in1 oil on the moving parts. Nothing seems to help.
>>1122529
I shit you not. An old bearded man named Merlin once told me "its black magic under a sewing machine. I you figure it out you are now a wizard."
Ya know what? I beleive him to this day.
How many hours do you get for sleep?
Do you drink coffee in the mornings?
How many meals do you have in a day?
>>1121347
I get about six hours of sleep due to late night projects, wake up, get Biggby because i usually forget to start a pot, when i get to work the ladies of the office usually have a buffet of snacks going in the kitchen area so i live off of that all day
>>1121347
620 wake up
700 eat breakfast, feed cat
8 out the door
820 arrive at work 10 mins early like a good wageslave
1230 lunch
1630 leave work
1700 lay on couch, play with cat
1730 eat dinner, feed cat
1800-2000 watch tv, read, play vidya, hangout with lady
2000 bedtime
Shit, your life sucks
Is there anywhere to practically learn how to forge, drill, bore, and ream, what we can call for now very precise, small and unusually thick pipes made of hard metal with a small diameter? I'm interested in making such pipes that could be capable of passing precise objects through smoothly.
>>1120023
You mean like a gun barrel?
The best ones are forged, not drilled.
>>1120026
Actually yeah I did have forging in mind, that would be my preferred method. But as you can see I have no idea how to do this and simply reading books can only get me so far, eventually I need hands on experience. I don't know where to start, in the 21st century you can't exactly walk down the road to the local blacksmith.
>>1120037
Have you considered walking down the road to the local gunsmith?
Cringe, yes I know. Living in a vehicle, this small, that is 2 from the 90s? Anon are you out of your mind!?
No, I just have to, undergrad was expensive. I just received my first med school acceptance letter. Great, except I won't be able to work in med school like I did these past 4 years.
Solution: Live in my truck for the year, and save every dime I have in preparation.
So, now that I'm done with my sob story, how do I make this livable? I'm planning on tinting my windows, not too dark as I'm trying to keep my bed on wheels low on the radar. I will park in a corner in my university parking garage and wake up before everybody else does ( i already do anyways). I'm thinking of removing my passenger seat and possibly building a flat platform with hinges so it can fold up. +soft layers for a makeshift bed.
How do I do this? OR, any other ideas welcome. Thanks in advance anonbros
btw not my vehicle. same exact, but mine is WAYYYYYYY uglier.

Having camped in an old C-10 Chevy I can tell you the insides of that will get drenched from your breath and it will suck in the winter. Cabs aren't made for living in. So you will need circulation/ventilation and insulation.
I put a camper shell on my old truck. Let me use a full(ish) sized air bed. water supply with sink. Insulation on the bed walls, and glued insulation on the roof. Depending on how much juice you pull you might need a camping battery and solar to keep it charged without having to run the engine and flush gas money.
Didn't live in it for uni, rather used it for camping by the lake.
Realistically, you should try to find some other folks that want to split rent on a small apartment and put in for every form of financial aid you can get.
>>1119188
You can gat an actual camper for them. Probably can get an old one for cheap.
Other wise this >>1119195
Alright DIY, I think we torched a breaker and I'm new to this, what numbers or letters do I need to glean from this guy right here.
It's the one on the top.
Early 90's trailer home if that helps
>>1116656
That's a standard GE single pole, 20 amp, BR style breaker. 5 bucks or under at a bigbox.
>>1116656
Might be worth the effort to make sure it isn't connected when replacing it though. Without the breaker you can really tickle yourself.
Any good place to buying micro screws tried ebay but can't find jack shit. I need a store or something that sells Hex flat head 1.7x5.0mm.
Picture related is the screw type I need.
When I stain leather, it keeps cracking when it bends. Am I missing an important step or something? Kinda new to this
Not op, but also very interested in answer.
It's it I'll advised to wet the leather after stain?
Would a conditioner help in this regard?
what are you staining it with?
>>1068776
not op still, but I use Fiebing's
My house has been contaminated with fiberglass due to the rupture of a fiberglass containing mattress. I have closed off the room that the rupture occurred within, and have discarded the mattress.
Problem is, my house is coated in a layer of fiberglass fibers that range from microscopic to large enough to visibly see with my eyes. My air conditioning is currently using a HEPA filter and I have a bit of money to throw around. I do not want fibrosis of the lungs later in life and would prefer to properly decontaminate my living space.
Ideas?
>>1126292
I've been breathing in fiberglass for 5 years now. Your wussy little 20 minute cleaning job is nothing.
Buy a mask at home depot and clean the fucking room. It's not complicated, and certainly doesn't warrant a thread on /diy/. What I'd like to know is where you got a fucking matress full of fiberglass from.
>>1126293
https://www.google.com/patents/EP1808098A1?cl=en
I don't want fucking fibrosis when I turn 65, you not using a mask for five years of fiberglass exposure makes you an idiot.

Trying to paint a ceiling in a 1930's house.
Ceiling has previous water damage but has been dry and sealed for years. The paint is constantly cracking and peeling as it drys, I have sanded back and re-painted 4 or 5 times in some spots!
Started with and acrylic seal undercoat but that also peeled, seems like nothing will adhere to the old paint/ plaster
Original pic is worst section but this is typical of 3-4 other areas peeling
Typical of peeling sections
Got one of those DIY guitar sets where you put together and paint and finish all the parts, but ive been having trouble with how how to paint the white trim around the body. Any ideas? the rest is pretty straight forward
Mask it off with blue painters tape... or get a kit with real binding... that's not supposed to be punted it's supposed to be a different material.
>>1126171
what kind of kit do you have? Usually it is a strip of different material that form what the rest of the guitar is. If it doesn't have that strip, you could try to still make one, but it probably won't look good. Mask it off, and then if any stain leaks underneath, sand it off, or scrape it off with a razor. Let your stain set in, and then apply your finish.
>>1126171
the white strip isn't paint it is binding often made out of plastic but sometimes wood strips.
