I'd like to run 220v to my detached garage. I have 110 12/2 line in the ground right now running through some 3/4 conduit. I'm not sure how the conduit is routed by I know it's going underneath my deck so I have no desire to dig it up. I'm guessing the total length of conduit/wire is around 50 feet

My plan is to connect new 10/3 wire to the existing wire and try to pull it through.

Do you guys have any experience fishing wire through this length of conduit? I'm not sure how fucked I will be if it gets snagged and separates.

Romex is difficult to pull.

You'd have better luck pulling three #10 wires through.

Learn the basics: rhythm, sound, melody
Then: do a skill check--=can you sing, or play an instrument, can keep a beat going, or at least have an idea for an interesting set of tones, etc.
Afterwards: practice that shit--try recording some of your practice sessions just to see how you sound like, also to see if you're getting better. Software: most Windows/Linux/Mac OS X or whatever you have on your computer will have a default recorder application (or 'app'); the one that comes with your smartphone will also do for this purpose.
Then: ask Google about what free and easy to learn software to use. You're looking for something called a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW). With this you can record 'tracks' and edit them--google/read up on music production+sound engineering, and/or just play around with that shiny new software. If it's music creation software you want, try Googling for: synthesizer, drum machines, beat pads, whatever.
Finally: create, record, and produce your music, put it on a few CDs (whoops I mean USBs or whatever you kids use nowadays), or just upload that shit to SoundCloud or Bandcamp or whatever (or MySpace if that shit still works). Have it listened to and critiqued by fellow music-minded people. Accept feedback with an impersonal perspective--if they say something like "this sounds like the shit I shat out this morning," don't take it personally, instead ask them if they can specify what is shitty about it, like is the timing off or are the vocals flat or is the sound quality terrible, etc. so you will know what to work on. Chances are, if you pick who you will have listen to your first few tracks (ideally those who know good music or at least someone who's not just trolling you), you can really get constructive and objective feedback, which will let you learn better and improve your craft.

Nothing wrong with his english. If anyone ever says "Buy brand X", you can safely assume they are idiots. Buy products with good properties, not because they have a logo you've seen everywhere. Probably there's no good way to stop the ringing noise, but if you can think of a way to stop the tips of the claws from vibrating, try it. Maybe jam some rubber stuck between them.

Hello /diy/, got told by /g/ to post this here instead, so here goes.
Got a PCB in the mail today and expected the outgoing video cable to be a VGA one. Realised it was a DB-15 plug (the ones that old Macs used), contacted the seller but all I hear from him is "We sent you a better product actually" and "I don't actually understand the problem". As that approach leads nowhere, I thought I could just pop the plug open and rewire it to a VGA plug as I have seen adapters for converting between them back in the day. (I'm sending 15khz signal either way, so they should be compatible with just a rewiring, I think...)
Searching online, all the answers I found on how to wire this differed slighty.
Pic related, it's the plug and how it's wired.

TL;DR Please help me wire this to a VGA plug as internet isnt being helpful

>you obviously cant use it because its not what you bought

and you didnt dispute this why? if it was ebay you could dispute the charges saying you were sent an item different from what you purchased and ebay would have refunded you. so instead you are here crying about the connector and reqiring it, if its from a mac and you want to use it for a pc you will have issues

lots of >>1153855 as well, however.

my best guess, with 5 wires, try pic related, with RGB (you got RBW for this, helpfully..), black ground and yellow sync, sync to V-SYNC (pin 14). That may work, but probably wont. At least you tried, tho.
>>
>>1153859
He's missing the Hsync wire in that case. A VGA monitor will just tell you to fuck off and not even bother turning on if you don't give it Hsync.

>>1153821
You've got five wires there. VGA would require six. I'm guessing it's some kind of video standard with either a composite sync, or chroma, luminance color wires instead of R,G,B. You'll need to do more than just solder the wires to a VGA connector,

I try drilling in reverse all the time when using cordless drills. Maybe it's just me being autistic but I often put it in reverse and then try to drill, make a mess of the surface because of the drill bit walking away, then finally realize what's wrong.
Happens every second or third hole I'm drilling.

Shalom bouise,

Have you ever seen someone throw some chemical into a campfire, and the flame changes color? Cool huh? I've decided that I want to replicate this, but being a greedy sonnofabitch I don't want to spend money on it.

So, I have here some chemicals that I believe will produce some interesting effects. Has anyone made their own fire magic stuff before, or can tell me what will do what and if it is dangerous?

Pic related, very fine magnesium powder, a chunk of gadolinium (which I will probably file off some flakes), a piece of copper, some fine copper pieces with shavings mixed in, and finally some CaCl crystals both large and fine powdered.

copper wire
hydrochloric acid
35% hydrogen peroxide

in a well ventilated area fill a 1000ml beaker with 500ml of hydrochloric (muriatic) acid

add copper wire

have ready 500ml of 35% hydrogen peroxide and add it pipette by pipette until you no longer see the mixture bubbling

heat the mixture (outside, ventilation) until you have nothing but a blue sludge left

let dry, pulverize and throw in your fire

tons of videos on youtube which you should watch, what i wrote was from memory only
>>
>>1153489
Will pure copper metal work if it is finely divided and pulverized? Because the color is produced by electron excitation in the copper atoms, so I don't really see why you would need the chloride or sulfate ionic pair

Elevator technician, those fuckers charge an arm and a leg and there are basically none of them

I stupidly flushed sewing thread and video tape down the toilet and now it's blocked. I removed the toilet from the soil pipe but the blockage is somewhere down the soil pipe where my hand can't reach it.

I've poured domestic drain unblocker, bleach, caustic soda, vinegar, and boiling water down it but it's still blocked.

Anyway I stupidly put them down there. I tied it to a cardboard toilet roll and flushed it to see what would happen. I wanted to see the thread / tape getting sucked down but instead it just got blocked.

It's been blocked now for 4 months and I'm shitting into plastic bags.

ok they are made of cotton, if you try to dissolve it you will dissolve the pipe before you do, so again, you cant dissolve it

have you even tried bending a cloth hanger and see if you can hook some of the shit out

I had a problem. That problem was not wanting to use the front panel audio on my case but wanting to be able to swap between headphones and speakers without getting to the back of my PC every time.

I looked on Amazon and the solutions I found were $15 and $30. Upon finding out how "simple" electrically it was, I went to the local Radio Shack, which was having a closing sale, intending to get a DPDT switch and three 3.5mm jacks. Well as it turns out someone cleaned them out of the jacks I wanted so I improvised by getting a cheap headphone splitter dongle, hoping to at least scavenge the jacks.

The following is what ensued.
