Anyone Know where I could possibly get a broken computer terminal, or atleast the shell/plastic housing of one? , googled it a bunch and all I get are JUST connectors and other wire related headers, I want to do a micro ATX sleeper build inside one of these, pic very related but willing to work with anything (I could make a custom keyboard for it aswell, I have a very good amount of soldering experience)

My best guess would be to look around locally. Craigslist. Swapshops, flea markets.

I have been looking for one for YEARS. I want to mount a raspberry pi in it to look at BBSs with. Sadly haven't been able to find one like pic related. Even on ebay

you def. find them in ebay, just, not especially cheap. Do an image search in ebay vintage/google w/e, find the exact model names of anything of interest, then, search those in any category, and wait, patiently. Like Buddah on The Mountain. But if its just the case you want, cant imagine its that difficult, freak prices be for complete, or as near complete as you get on 40+ year old hardware.

Helo /diy/,

I could use some help. The playground at our local church is on a hill. It has pea gravel and is enclosed by a chain link fence. This means that pea gravel frequently washes out into the yard.

For my Eagle Project, I would like to do something to fix this problem. It cannot be a temporary solution, like the mesh or fabric normally used on construction sites. It can also not be dangerous to the children in the playground, and must be somewhat easy to maintain.

I think having decking boards along the bottom of the fence would probably be easiest, but I don't know how well they would stand up to the elements. i assume they wouldn't warp too much, with them being treated. In the fall, I did a test and mounted a decking board against the chain link fence in my back yard using those cheap green u posts you get at lowes as the posts to mount it against, and it's held up very well. My main question is what would be the best type of posts to use. Keep in mind that I live in a VERY rocky area, so digging large holes along the length of fence that would be required is unfeasible. Because of this, 4x4s aren't really practical. Those cheap u-posts are nice and all, but they just aren't as long lasting as it needs to be. I just don't quite know what to do.

Any help would be very much appreciated!

pic related, it's not a pic of the area where I'm having the problem, but it's very similar. The playground that I'm talking about is on a much more gentle slope though.

Build a retaining wall with cinderblocks or scrap concrete.
>>
>>1153623
it's not a small playground, it's about 300ft of fencing that I'll have to put the barrier. I mean it's probably doable, but I don't think that's the most attractive or practical option.
>>
>>1153621
Have a truckload of rock moved in. Stack up a retaining wall by hand. It will suck. But it will work. I built one 3 years ago and can get picks in a few hours when its daylight if u want. Or try railroad ties and hammer rebar in them.

What the fucking shit. What is the point of a big shower head when the fucking retards responsible, make it just spray straight down without any spread? The entire point of a big shower head is better "coverage", but without spread a head half the size can be better.

Also, why are fixed heads like pic related standard in murrifat? Are they all manlets who don't need adjustable height?

Hi /diy/,

currently I'm in the process of finishing building my house. We actually bought it partly done. The first floor (including the kitchen, one bedroom, living room) was almost finished by the time we moved in. Right now, I'm in the process of finishing up the second floor and soon time will come when I will have to throw away the shitty temporary wooden staircase.
Me and my waifu both agree on the style of stairs that we want (see attached pic), because they will go great with our interior.
I'm going to manufacture the stairs myself (the metal frame atleast, but not the steps), because this type of stairs will cost atleast 4-5k euros here in Europe. The calculations for the step sizes, angles, etc. can be easily done online, so that's not a problem. The problem is choosing the thickness of the metal for the sides of the staircase. In my opinion it should be in the region of 8-10mm.

So I come here hoping for your input.

I'll post several more pictures of the same staircase

How hard is it to make your own desk? I've never build anything besides 7th grade Workshop projects. I have no tools besides a hammer, knife, etc. I have no attachment to wood & economics is the main concern.

depends on how complicated you want it to be

if you have a hand saw, a drill, and basic measuring tools, you can make a lot of stuff

you could use 4x4s for legs, make a frame to attach the legs and the top out of 1x4s, then use prefinished melamine/mdf for the top
>>
>>1151833
A desk could be anything from a piece of plywood on some cinderblocks to a modular hardwood setup. Post a pic of the kind of thing you're looking for instead of the wench and we'll help you figure out how hard it will be.
>>
>>1151833
>buy door from used builder's supply
>use plumbing pipe for legs is you don't want to mess with wood
>use wood if you feel like messing with wood

Total tools needed: screwdriver and screws. Drill if you want to get fancy.

Post work shops or projects you are working on.
post your ideas to make money using your /diy/.

Im making some dolls houses or room boxes, hoping to sell them to rich old ladies...
I saw some going on eBay for ridiculous money and they weren't even that well made.
I dont want to make any furniture so hoping to team up with some one once I have finished them and we can sell each others work.

I'm making three and will film making the last one for youtube, hopefully drum up some business.
I thought it would be better to make a few before selling so it looks like more of a product/business.

dosent have to be wood, electronics - anything.

My parents had a grease buildup in the split from house to main sewer line. After clearing obviously there was a mess in the lowest spot which is the basement toilet. Problem... it happened the day before they went to Europe.
Question, what are some products that can be sourced locally aka big box stores that will clean this "grease" up. Mainly just need to clean the floors and some seepage around the trim.

Hey guys, I'm wondering what would be the best kind of cabin or structure to build in the Washington mountains. The factors I'm looking for in order of importance is 1) Self Sustainable {will be off grid but still want it to have electricity, water, sewage, and a way to manage temperature}, price {think more value for the money rather than keeping things dirt cheap}, and 3) aesthetic {I want it to look nice and unique but I also find beauty in form and FUNCTION}. With all that in mind please feel free to post whatcha think. I love creativity so go wild but remember I don't want to put something in that doesn't serve an important purpose.

Yesterday I started to shower and noticed a silverfish that was hiding under the tap washing towards the drain; I quickly closed the tap and took it gently out on a piece of paper, and let it dry hoping it would awaken and run away eventually, but 24 hours later it was still there, must have drowned. :(

I'm trying to save money so I can pay off my car then finally apply for a loan for a 120k-ish house (my first house).

So instead of continuing to pay 1400 a month for rent in my nice, upper-middle class neighborhood.

I can literally buy a house in Detroit with a couple grand down and pay 300 a month for 36 months until I get the deed.

That's long enough for me to pay off my car then enough time to wait to apply for another loan (for a nice house).

How can I make a house in South West Detroit "safe" or at least keep people from breaking in/trying to steal my car, ect.

I have a very good 16 channel DVR/camera system. An I was going to weld bars over the windows or maybe just keep them boarded up well. I don't know...Whatever is cheaper.
Any ideas?

Also what constitutes a "booby trap"?

I read recently (in local Michigan news) of a woman who put deck screws in a board and a cop stepped on and she wasn't charged for it.

Specialized parts like galvanometers, and patents. Remember formlabs got sued and currently pays royalties. Patents are a bad meme
>>
>>1145210
I've used SLA printer (form2) a lot. The basic resins are brittle compared to what you get from FDM but the quality is way better. Post processing is a mess though.
