Would it be a safe assumption that you've read through whatever instructions the creator of the shield wrote, or am I being to optimistic here.

pic related, my regulated (and new) vape started blowing up in my car seat for no apparent reason, and I had to toss it out the window as quickly as I could, but in the 3 seconds it took my to get out of the vehicle, it left a dark burn mark. I've already scrubbed the hell out of it and cleaned it, so there's no soot left, but there is still a burn mark. I tried using a razor to scrape the burn marks off after I cleaned the spot thoroughly, but no luck. Any suggestions?

Scored two large styrofoam coolers,
Luckily the ones I have are 1" thick on the sides and the top is very flat with no weird designs on it like in the pic.
I got a 7" fan - but I am not sure if thats powerful enough.

No video on youtube explains whats a decent size elbow pvc pipe to get but most appear to be 2" or 2.5" diameter. ( last item I need, will get tomorrow.)

If you have any experience or tips, please share.

I am in Taiwan.. and its humid as balls and its just going to get worst as summer approaches.

I have regular A/C units, but I would like to cut down on my electricity bill this summer.

>using water to cool the air so the air can cool you

why not just use the water to cool yourself, zero electricity
>>
>>1163936
These are only good for spot cooling where the cold air flow is directly hitting you. Otherwise, they don't do all that well cooling a room.

I use them when working in attics or other hot places. I use a large box fan and a fountain pump. I have the it pump the cold water through vinyl tubing to a copper tube spiral on the front of the fan, back through more vinyl tubing, and into the cooler. I can then direct the air flow where I need it.

In my area it is very humid too, so I have to place a towel on the floor in front of the fan to catch the condensation.

>I would like to cut down on my electricity bill this summer.

Sit with your feet in buckets of ice water and a wet towel around your head with a fan blowing on you. You'll be as cool as a cucumber.
>>
>>1163942
I forgot to add that you can use water bottle as ice packs both for cooling you and for use in the cooler as ice cubes.

Can I use polyfilla for the surrounding of the shower basin, instead of silicone sealant?
10 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>1163543

No...use silicone, it's only 8-10$ a tube...

Polyfilla is for drywall repair and isn't waterproof/resistant...
>>
>>1163543
I work as a builder and I just got done fixing where someone did exactly this. No. Don't do it. Just get silicone. you can shape it in place with a wet thumb and some care and it's cheap. Don't do this to yourself OP.
>>
3M 5200 marine adhesive sealant is designed for through-hull boat use and makes all conventional RTV silicone shit by comparison. It has far better wetting and adhesion. Worth the money. I use it all the time indoors and outdoors.

Available at most hardware stores and online.

This local is selling this.

Basically I dont know shit about machining at all other than what a lathe, end mill, and drill press are.

I have no idea what to look for or what to avoid.

Thanks for the link, will watch.
>>
>>1162610

Not a professional machinist, but I know some things.

Like the other guy, going to hazard a guess that you're interested in that lathe.

My only concern would be how worn the bed is. If it's fucked, the same fuckery will show in your work. You can recondition them, but it's very labor-intensive.

Quick-change gearboxes are attractive features. Manually swapping out gears to thread is absolute garbage. That's half the reason I'm working on converting my mini lathe to CNC.

What's the asking price on it?

Hey /diy/, my sink's been broken for ages and I finally found the culprit, this bit here which is supposed to control the waterflow.

Hardware store wants to charge me 60 for new ones, but if I can get the name of the part I might be able to see if the manufacturer offers it cheaper through some searching.

I've checked extensively, the manufacturer has no label anywhere on the sink set.

Where should I buy flooring online to install? I'm interested in vinyl planks, but I'm not sure what the best place is to get them. I'd like to avoid the really cheap faulty stuff.
I don't trust talking to retailers who work in the industry, as they usually just try to sell you their own brand.

Trafficmaster Allure Ultra, you can buy it from home depot online. Make sure it's the "ultra" type though as it is thicker than the lower grade they offer, somewhere between 3/8" and 1/4". Last I checked I think there was like 20 or 25 variants they made.

I installed some in my construction office about 5 years ago, which sees a ton of traffic including a couple of large dogs, and it still looks like new. It's for the most part indestructible. It would probably outlive you.

Thanks for the recommendation. I'll see if I can convince my family to go for one of these.
https://www.lumberliquidators.com/ll/c/Dark-Hollow-Oak-EVP-Coreluxe-XD-EVPDKH7/10041439
My family's heart is set on this. I'm a bit skeptical of lumber liquidators, though. Especially since this has no reviews. The 50 year warranty seems promising, however.
>>
>>1165910
Seconding this. I use Allure Ultra in all my rentals and I never have a problem. For a bit of added protection, you can paint the subfloor with Kilz before you install the planks. It costs a bit more per foot than laminate or sheet vinyl, but it's well worth the cost in the long run. I don't even bother with carpet in the bedrooms anymore.

If you get 10mm, or thicker, planks, you can even swap them out if one of the planks gets scratched. They're practically indestructible though.

Another alternative is self-adhesive vinyl tile. If one of these gets damaged, you can just heat it up, pull it off, and slap in a new one. They're about half the cost, but they don't look as good IMO.

I love these fuckers. How do I grow them at home?
They grow near me but I can't get enough to satisfy myself. I have a large basement and already grow, but I've never done anything with mushrooms.

So build it.
Trial and error. If you can make one frame work, the hard part is over.
$30 worth of shit and one afternoon, that's all it takes to fuck around and see for yourself what works and what don't. Hit a snag? Take a pic and come back.
Trial and error.

Go in an home depot and look for those plastic pipes and try to figure out what you will need, try to make it sturdier adding some diagonal pipes or it will collapse on itself with some wind.

And anchor it to the ground.

Take a nice sheet of paper and start with that and see it will work well.

I'd like to make one myself, to grow in vertical some vegetables.

What can I do with these speakers? I helped my buddy move and he game me these and an amp, I sold the amp already so these are relatively worthless to me now and they're not selling so I'm looking for ideas of what to do with them before just scrapping them. I was thinking of tearing them apart to play with the magnets

Is there any easy way to melt down soap bars into new bars without spending 12+ hours and fight clubbing my house

Microwave oven? That's my guess, try googling, there has to be an answer already somewhere

This. soap will melt. Use a double boiler setup on your stove instead of a microwave though.
>>

This is exactly what I do to melt my soap together. My favorite bar soap only comes in tiny circles, so I melt them together
