Any advise on what kind of pot and resistor is required to make this circuit dimmable?

Leds generally don't 'dim' well. It takes so little to get them to light up, a dimmer wouldn't be very useful

You usually dim LEDs with PWM. A 555 timer with a pot.

get the voltage range that will put ~1mA to ~20mA thru the led, use that range to find the max/min resistance, put a pot in series with a resistor to get standard values

Template it out with cardboard first.
Trim until you get desired results.
Use that template to cut the MDF.

Get the right volume for the sub you're putting in. Adding poly-fill can help if you're on the smaller side.
Wood glue on all the joints.
>>
-Get a piece of poster board or cardboard
-Rough cut it to get it in the ballpark
-Temporarly attach it to the side of the vehicle
-Measure up (vertical) from the surfaces (including the flat, easy part) an equal amount all along the contour about every inch or so. A small block of wood or something about the right size, is a lot quicker and more accurate than using a tape.
-cut out curve (and flat) and use it for a template to mark the wood.

Hello.
I want to make the mask from Zelda, Majoras Mask (Pic related) in wood. I don't have much experience with woodwork, but I don't think it will be a problem if I paint on the smaller details with a small brush.

I have a friend who works as a furniture carpenter, and she told me she could cut out the basic shape of the mask from a piece of wood for close to no cost at all. For this, she needs a proper drawing with measures she can use. After attempting something with GIMP, I realised it wouldn't work since my printer only prints A4 paper, and the mask needs at least A3. I settled on drawing it by hand. I got a compass tool and started with some basic shapes, but i can't seem to get the correct curves. Can anyone help me with this? It doesn't have to be exact, I can change the shape a bit by hand, but I need to have a correct basic shape, to get it as symmetrical as possible. Only a small tutorial on how to use the compass tool is necessary.

The drawing having measures has nothing to do with being on A3 paper, unless it needs to be 1:1 scale?
Open it with a vector graphics software like inkscape, add a new layer on top and trance over the important lines. If you can't measure it (pretty sure you can in like every vector graphics program ever because that's what they are for essentially) directly you can work out the dimensions from coordinates and angles. Then just scale each measurement by whatever factor to give you the size you want/need

Clearly I expected the tires to be fucked as everything else looked ancient and untouched for about 50 years.
When I opened it up the upper tire came off easily (rubber) where upon closer examination of the lower tire someone had put what looks to be roofing tar or some shit on it as a makesift bandsaw tire. FFS

I already bought new ones online (just arrived last night) so it's time to unfuck this.

So I'm sure I'm yet another idiot who's proposed this idea, but figured I'd ask anyway.

I see a lot of people like doing bedroom lighting with LED strips and various other small light sources. I'm wanting to do this for my whole house. The reason being is that the lights I have in my house have very inconvenient light switches, and the lights are all too bright. I want to do a low-light and low-power constant-on setup so I don't need to fiddle with the light switches and so I don't waste electricity. The thing is, I haven't messed with electronics in a long time and I never paid any attention to actual power requirements.

So, 2 questions:

Is this an economical solution? I.e, will LED strips/lights use less electricity on average than the way too many (3-5+ per area/room) recessed floodlights I have?

Is it possible for me to run this off of mains power so I don't have to change batteries every day? (ideally without shocking myself with the circuit design)

Any ideas or suggestions (or criticism) would be helpful. I'm not dead-set on this but I figured it would be a neat side project that's actually useful

Recessed floodlights as you say are more commonly known as spotlights because they illuminate small spots. This in itself is an inefficient way of lighting a room.
The type of lamp in the spotlight is important, incandescent is much more inefficient than led. Does anyone make cfl spotlight lamps? I don't think so.
Replacing led with led isn't going to make too much of a difference.
You can buy led strips with a mains adapter which you could in theory very easily connect to your lighting circuit.
In reality there are all kinds of pesky rules and regulations to deal with.

>is this an economical solution?
Not really. You won't be saving any money really. Just do it for convenience or ambient lighting.

>is it possible to run this off mains power?
Yes. Either the 12V or the 5V version can be run off an AC adapter.

>Any ideas?
If you want to go the super easy route get 5050's. They're cheap and have premade controllers for them.

If you want to try and make your own patterns, colors, or just have more control get WS2812Bs and hook them up to a microcontroller.

>replacing LED with LED
That's the thing, some of the lights are LEDs while others aren't. From what I remember, LED spotlights are ~$30/per (or were a few years ago) while a meter of LED strip is ~$20-30 as well but would look much nicer.

>>1165845
>AC adapters exist
>5050s are easy
Awesome, will look into those.
I don't really need fancy effects, maybe just a fade between colours but I don't know how much I'd really use it.

Another thing I forgot to ask - are LED strips hot or warm? I'm not going to be putting them into a pile of dry straw and running them constantly, but I want to make sure that they wouldn't melt something close to them or be a fire hazard. I've also considered EL wire.
