I just like to play up my minor mistakes as being more than they are just for the shits. If anyone gave a damn about it they'd have made the thread themselves.

Let's start a discussion: Why do Manticores seem to have so much art? I wouldn't overwhelmingly say they have the most out of the girls, but at the same time they seem to have a wealth of it while the others are more... Lacking.

While I agree both are appealing to a more sub mentality (nothing wrong with that, don't get me wrong) there are quite a few other species that have some interesting things going for them.

Shirohebi are exceedingly loyal to one man, making them an ideal waifu for a fella. Plus, snek. But, as always, they've got that particular monstrousness contained in their "flame" of sorts. Cheat on em and they not only physically rape you, they effectively rape your soul.

Sea Bishops are quite interesting, basically just existing to marry people together. But if they find a man stuck out at sea, they shotgun marry themselves to the man. He becomes a merman and they live happily ever after. That's awesome waifu shit right there.

Those are just two off the top of my head. And they're both rather spiffl outfit and visual design-wise. Neither of them beat my girl Wurm and her much more devious sister Apophis, but they're still top-class.

If I had to guess the popularity of Manticores, I'd have to guess it's a combination of things.
Firstly, Tailpussy. Weird sex focused appendages would obviously be appealing.
Secondly: Their attitude. It's not a stretch to say that the fellas interested in MGs probably lean Sub. Manticores fit squarely into that.
Third: They're sexy. Yes, most MGs are sexy, but Manticore seems particularly so. Skimpy bikini as the "typical" outfit, crazy curves. They'd catch the eye easily in a thumbnail. Even I'll admit that some species like the Shirohebi, Apophis, most slimes, and the Sea Kelp look kinda like same-colored blobs in a thumb nail.
Lastly, they seem to have gotten the most OCs (which is to say, any) out of the species shown, and with a little magic from a place like Tumblr that can cause them to explode.

Wrote a little story this weekend as I lounged about.

"Temple Troubles"

It had been a full week into your vacation before you decided to branch out from the city and try and visit a few more remote sites. One that caught your intrest was a temple not too far south of the city meant to be a place to appease any ill spirits before they got too close. Or at least thats what you heard, some funky old bullshit about voodoo-hoodo whatever the hell. What you didn't hear was that the temple was right next to a very decent park and a museum about the religious and spiritual beleifs of the country throughout history. Now that was a fun place to tour. Now it was nearing the end of the day and you decided to check out the temple before it was closed for the night. Checking your watch it was half past 5pm, so you had a full 30 minutes to do a walkthrough to see what there was to see. As you passed through the entrance one of the temple minders gave you a friendly head nod and wished you well. What you didn't see was after passing her by was her eyes turning a different color and a michevious grin lighting up her face.

To be honest you kinda wished this would have been the first stop, that way time would'nt be such an issue. The archateture was really nice and some of the wood carvings were very intracate. A check of the watch revealed you had 15 minutes left, time to keep moving. On through the other side of the courtyard and past a huge stepped altar thing with a bunch of candels on it, some lit others not. There were some signs there that were english translations of some of the wall art and symbols, you can afford to stop and read them. Check the watch, 15 minutes left, you got...wait a minute. No way there is that much time still. You look at your watch and it keeps going, but as soon as it hits 5:45:59 it resets to 5:45:00. Fuck. Checking your cellphone, except its dead. Bullshit it was on 45% battery right before you came in here. The temperature suddenly drops a bit, You have a very bad feeling from this. You never really believed all that spiritual hocus pocus, but all this just felt wrong and that was enough of a reason for you to head towards the exit. There is the door and a manual clock next to it reads 6:20, thankfully none of the staff has caught you here overtime. You throw open the door and...its the courtyard...from before..what the fuck.

Panicing you turn around an run through a door on your side of the courtyard, not daring to look back so see if its pursuing you. Okay, try and slow down and think. Fuck, why are there no exit signs. You open another door at the end of a hallway to yet another hallway with a few doors in it. There was no way this temple was that large, It looked tiny from the outside. Which doot to choose? A scratching sound on the other side of the door you just came from hastened your decision, The one on the left. You go through that one and stop dead in your tracks, wtf. It was like a maze of doors in front of you. A feminine voice suddenly echoed through the air. "my my my, are you having trouble finding your way?"

Tumbling to the ground you lay there, panting, waiting for the end. You look up, and notice its the same courtyard you started in. And there was the fox demon, still laying there and watching you. You slowly get up and walk backwards to the door you came from, eyes glued to the demon. It did nothing as you backed off and took hold of the door knob. But when you opened it there was nothing but black on the other side. "Something wrong?" You looked back to see the demon had moved and was standing a few paces away, staring you down. You stared back, weighing the options. Your eyes darted into the black beyond the door way, then right back at the demon. With out a word you threw your body into the black, the demon lunging after you. "NO!" You felt weightless as you plunged into dark nothingness.

You felt too warm and fuzzy for there to be any real danger. That perfume smelt nice.

I'd advise using spellcheck, though that in itself was not a big issue throughout the story.

I think you could do with using more synonyms and being a little more descriptive of things. For example, was the transformed kitsune wearing anything? What did she look like in terms of her human parts? Hair, skin, eyes, etc? Was she a foxgirl with blonde hair to match the fur like we see often in depictions, or did she have typical dark Japanese hair? What kind of physique and proportions did she have?

Only other criticism I have is the language you use. In second-person narration you should avoid certain words or phrases that sound...less professional, shall we say? Avoid using slang or profanity unless it's part of dialogue itself. Reading this really just made me feel like an anon was telling me what happened to him personally and in his own words but in the second-person.

Make no mistake, this was a fun read regardles.

There's a manga series where it's explained acceptably - the dominant vertebrate skeleton in that world ended with 6 limbs (a possible mutation from the original fish skeleton turning dorsal fins into limbs).
From that centaurs are creatures that evolved their lower 4 limbs horselike for mobility, and develop their upper torso for tool use and so on.

I liked that you made a monster world 4chan in mentioning /x/ larping. Now I want to see a parody of /d/'s monstergirl threads with monster-femanons posting human guys and saying shit like "Blondeboi is bestboi" and "tfw no glassesboi to rape".

Now for some advice:

-Separate the lines spoken by different characters into separate paragraphs to avoid confusion. I was scratching my head when it seemed like Lexi was talking about her grandchildren in the beginning. Took a few rereadings of lines to figure out who said what sometimes.

-Part of 1st person narrative is being able to get into the skin (metaphorically) of your narrator and seeing/feeling things from their view. That wasn't to say you did no such thing, but it wouldn't hurt to give some more details next time. There was sadly a deficiency of sensory input from the narration. Smells, tastes, sounds, and so forth. What did Lexi think of the taste of Humanboi semen? What did Michael's crotch smell like to her, because you did describe her antenna sniffing it but made no mention how the scent affected her lust or anything. Bugs have more accrute senses of smell than humans (most animals do, in fact), so I'd imagine human scents like sweat would be more powerful to her. Sensory input can really immerse readers into the story, just to let you know.

-Your tenses went between past and present throughout the story, try to adhere to one tense in narration at all costs.

-Without going into tangents of details that would bog down the narration, try to add more descriptions of things. You wouldn't need to describe the mailman orc like Chaucer would, but adding a few details sprinkled into the beginning could help readers visualize things better. Yes, he's porcine and old, but is the mailman portly? Not just that, but even a quick description of Lexi heading to the forest? Does she live in the suburbs? Is the forest she went into nextdoor or did she have to walk a mile?

All in all I'd give it a 7/10,
