Post-amputation pain varies widely. Some live the rest of their lives in excruciating pain, others have none at all. Most have minor sensitivity and occasional phantom pains

I'm actually kind of curious about phantom limb when it comes to fetishists. It's a fact that there are scenarios where it's less likely to occur; transgender people are less likely to get phantom dick for example. I think I've read that people with BIID are less likely to get it, too.

All of that on top of the fact that shit like mirror box therapy is effective in making it go away. Kind of makes me wonder if the fantasizing/pretending that I do would make me less likely to get it...

Oh man, I think I mentioned before that I'd like to see more things in amputee art that's exclusive to amputees and I finally found some more. I can't read Japanese so I don't really know what's going on, but the sex scenes are pretty well done with lots of emphasis on the amputee aspect, such as touching, rubbing, and holding stumps during sex. The pixiv IDs are 57633230 and 64614229. I'm posting an example page. The only thing more lewd than hand holding is stump holding during sex.

That's not how it works. That'd make the seam where the scar is, and that's the most sensitive part of the stump. Also consider that arms are much thinner. These have to be custom-made as stump socks from the very beginning, not that custom-making clothes is that expensive.

Real stump liners are for practical purposes like keeping moisture out, reducing friction, constriction, keeping the prosthesis on and other reasons. If you mean the ones in art, then that's just for visual appeal. It's a way to hide the stump but also draw attention to it at the same time. Just like how a cute bra makes you excited for what's underneath while also letting you appreciate the design and shape.
