And for the record, I wasn't trying to LD a GF, I was just wanting to learn about LD in general.

I think I pulled it off once on accident though, but I don't remember anything that happened after I walked out of the RV that had the trigger item inside.

Everything in life has its price. If you want to tamper with your subconsciousness, then you have to be prepared that it will take a toll on your sanity.

It's a common case for people involved in LD (and other alternate states of consciousness) to develop nightmares along their desired lucid dreams. There are many reasons for that, but most supr from alterations in sleep cycles (most of nightmares and other sleep anomalies occur during non-REM phases).

In my case, after mastering control over my usual dreams and attaining skills to maintain equilibrium between lucidity and wakefullnes, I started to get repeated encounters with certain being (over the course of last 9 months there were 6 such cases). It's the whole reason I even started to delve into the whole buisiness of horror/creepy art style, and I even decided to hire few artists to draw/paint my own experiences. It's honestly pretty serene experience, because it's the first time for me to open myself towards the world of art.

But as I said, there was a price to pay for all of this. The moment I learned how to aleviate my own nightmares and morph usual horrors into phenomena of unparalleled beauty, my brain changed the form of my nightmares, completely inversing their purpose. Instead of having bad dreams about being the victim of some unspeakable macabre, I dream about being the perpetrator. And it takes severe toll on your conscience and sanity - even if you are aware that it was only a dream, feeling of waking up with gut wrenching feeling of guilt is one of the worst thing that happened to me.

By the way, what does RV mean, and could you elaborate a little bit more about that "trigger item".

It all depends on your level of self control, grip on reality, and in certain degree - courage. Jumping straight into the rabbit hole without any plan ahead is a great way to fuck yourself up.

It's better to keep it under wraps, because most of society will consider you mentally ill, and the religious bunch will write you off as a possesed by some sort of demons (well, it kind of is something along this). And over time, you will want more. It starts with exchanging experiences on sites like this, getting more information from people with similar interests. After this, the next logical step would be the usage of psychedelic substances. And this is the moment when most of people slip into pitfall, and develop real mental illnesses or get addicted. To be honest, i would not really recommend this to "normal" person, but I know that this place is filled with misfits, transcending over the boring, usual mindset of a man.

So, to sum it up - lucid dreaming and searching for your elusive "Shadow Spawn" GF is a great, otherwordly experience. but you need to sacrifice something in exchange.

If that's the case, then it might be another proof that sleep paralysis has tendency to unfold when you are sleeping in a place you are not used to. From what info I've gathered from various people, most experience it while taking a quick, sudden nap (as if, when they are tired but trying to not fall asleep), while being in unfamiliar place.
