I've never made images or anything like this before. I had to trim the frames to fit underneath 4mb. It took me awhile since I was learning all this shit.

This is the only format I thought was erotic, and I think it's because the person watching has to use their imagination to fill in only the most erogenous zones. When you censor too much of the image then there isn't enough to go off of to enjoy it in the first place.

this is good, there's only 3 things I would change

1. I prefer smoother boxes, the jagged one you made for the breasts doesn't look as nice. I usually use the free select tool in GIMP (i think its called lasso select in photoshop) to click out 4 points to draw my boxes.
2. Because the background isn't a solid color, parts of your caption don't contrast well and are harder to read. It's not so bad in this case, but keep it in mind for the future. Ways to improve your contrast: write inside your black box, draw a solid color box behind your text, use white text with a black border.
3. A small grammar thing, but

My favorite form of censoring is pretty much what you did with >>7456343 except that the head and face area is left clearly visible. Instead of a caption, a sentence basically declaring "you suck" is also pretty cute..
But those are just bonus points. My only real request is an image with a disgusted looking girl in it. You should have artistic freedom about every other included tag, the kind of censor and text on it, simply because you are already doing gods work by taking requests.

there's always stuff to do on the booru

Here's my to do list, typed out so that I don't forget, but also so if someone wants to help out they know where to start.
1. censor_request. this will be the easiest to help with, and its probably the most work quantity wise.
2. artist_request and character_request. these two I have already gone through and tagged what I can with reverse image search. contributing here would mean recognizing the artist/character or having the original for sourcing.
3. fixing early uploads without prefixes. some of the images uploaded before I made the css and tag prefixes don't have the prefixes that color the tags.
4. editor tags. many of the images from CCA were uploaded before I made the editor tag, so they need someone to add it.
5. caption length and perspective tags. the short/long caption and the first/second/third person tags were suggested and I put the tags to use in the tag list post, but I haven't actually used them anywhere.

I talked to Becquerel about it, and he was cool with it, so my next project will be to upload and tag the stuff from Becquerel's imagefap galleries.

yep >>7462930 has it right, censor_request means that it needs the censoring style and censored parts tags, just like how artist_request and character_request mean that those tags are missing.

the easiest way to help out with this is to add the following to your account options My Tags, then go through images with censor_request and add the relevant ones and remove the censor_request tag.

I'd say you are doing fine so far. You're censoring "just enough" of the image, which is fine for what you're doing.

You could make the boxes a bit smaller, so that they fit more around what you are trying to censor.

While not required, you could add in some insulting text within the boxes. Although going without is perfectly fine too. I'm a fan of captions, so seeing text as in >>7468753 is welcome too.

Either way, you're doing alright for your first edits. Plus, it's always great to see new contributors. Please, keep it up!

From the way the mosaic censor on the foot looks I think they cut out the foot and then applied the filter on a new layer, which would explain why some parts of the foot aren't censored and why other parts of the mosaic go past the foot. I would suggest that you usually modify the original image's layer with the mosaic filter rather than do it on a new layer as to achieve the desired effect.

you've already picked out an image an wrote the caption for it, that's like 70% of it. load it up in gimp, draw a selection for your box, draw a text box for your caption, and bam it's done. you'd probably want to put a long caption like that off to the side, but that's a simple Image > Canvas Size and adjust the width, then make a new white/black layer behind the image layer.

so it will always depend on the size of your image, but I tend use ones like 22, 25, 28, 33. after you pixelize, zoom to fit the image in your window to see what it looks like at a normal viewing zoom.

its good practice to zoom to fit in window before saving anyways, it will let you double check that your edits look good and that your captions are readable and don't have typos.
