So the way I see it...

Sometimes they impregnate each other as well. The offspring are born after a gestation period of about a week to a month, and the mother is ready to become pregnant a few minutes after birth. There is a quest inspired (so more or less riped off) by these images over at questionable quest. You grow stronger and your kids gain different bonuses depending on who the mother/father is.
