Irregular shapes and diagonals are hard for me to censor myself in paint. I should probably get something else eventually but I don't really want to pay for or pirate photoshop.

I did some sorting of my saved images, and now that I've figured out the MegaSync tool, my saved folder of censored images and my OC folder should update to my mega as I add/make new stuff. 1300+ images, with over 100 of them my own work.

Man, we have face recognition software, how come there isnt any nudity detection software which could automatically censor/divert what's on screen? You would think some company would make it for a child safety thing or whatever.

Most anti-porn software casts its net too wide and wipes out entire domains or misses individual parts. You have to manually set up all sorts of filters to get certain sites to be functionally usable but censored.

I wrote a short guide on how to censor images in GIMP, to show you guys how easy it is. (and because I want to see more content makers)

1. Download and install GIMP from here: https://www.gimp.org/downloads/
1a. This is just my preference, but go to [Windows > Single-Window Mode] for your first time launching.
2. Open your image in GIMP.
3. Select an area to censor, using [Tools > Selection Tools > Rectangle Select or Free Select]
4a. For black boxes, its best to make a new transparent layer [Layer > New Layer > OK with the defaults], then you can use [Edit > Fill with FG Color] or [Tools > Paint Tools > Bucket Fill].
4b. For blur or pixelize, stay on the picture layer and go to [Filters > Blur > Gaussian Blur or Pixelize]. The box will prompt you for a number of how hard to blur, the higher the blurrier.
5. Before selecting something else, zoom out [View > Zoom > Fit Image in Window] to be sure your censoring is enough (and not too much /s). If you need to change the number you used, go to [Filters > Re-Show X].
6. Repeat steps 3-5 for the other areas needing censorship.
7. Captions are optional, but you can do them with [Tools > Text] then draw a text box. Set your font, size, and color there as well.
8. Once you're happy with your edits, go to [File > Save] to overwrite the original, or [File > Export As] to make a new file for your edit. Put .jpg at the end of the new filename for the file type.

Some tips for captions
Make them readable.
Use white on dark background or black on light background. If the background is too changing, make a new box or use white text with a black border.
Don't write so much that you end up rambling or compromising the text size. I'd say 1-2 sentences per small box is enough, and more than 5-6 sentences total is too much. Instead of shrinking the text, split it to other boxes or cut down your word count.
[Tools > Transform Tools > Rotate] can rotate the rectangle select or text boxes if the perpendicular doesn't fit so well.
[Select > Invert] is great for censors focusing on feet/dick. Just use free select to connect the dots around the area, then invert so your'e selecting everything else.

If you have Photoshop you can combine a mosaic filter with this scramble filter for a stronger effect.

Not so great if you want to be focusing on a specific area, but it can work nicely if done over a body since it further disrupts contours and such while retaining fleshy colours.

I make use of an already finished striped sprite that I copy and rotate/resize accordingly to make the process quick and easy.
You can probably find a tutorial somewhere on how to render similar colored stripes to cut out and paste over an image.

Tried doing some ones for personal use but couldn't quite seem to hit the sweet spot between too little and too much. Personally the Minotaur is my favourite so far because it has one box with very little then one with a bit more text.
