Well, if your goal is to emulate those games, I recommend you work on both your animations, and your in game controls. Right now, it's very janky, looks like every other default settings gamemaker platformer.

I've seen you getting advice from other anons on how to animate stuff, and your character still looks like she's walking around with moon shoes in 2x speed. You have no jump animation, she just suddenly goes airborne. You might check out some other platformers and try to break their animations down frame by frame. If you're an artist, check some stills from animation in movement to see how people move around. I'd recommend taking a look at the original Prince of Persia to see how the weight of animation effects how a character looks in motion.

also I had worked the running animation, frames by frames, but I never studied animation. I plan to make it lewd, but I'm trying to make the game functional for now. I just ran into an issue I didn't have before. When I try to set my sprite for the "nswf" the characters is stuck on ground and don't move when pressing left or right key press. But when I play with the sprite sfw character it's not the case. I'm confused as to why it's happening. The running animation and the nsfw are essentially the same except that one is lewd and other is sfw. But for whatever reason, the character is stuck in place with nsfw version.

How long have you been using gamemaker?

I've been casually messing around with it for 10 years now.. there's a ton of tiny tweaks that your game could use to make it work a ton better. If your lewd sprite is getting stuck in the ground, give your player object a mask. What's going on is the sprite for nsfw is probably larger, and therefore is clipping into the ground and causing it to not be able to move.

Based on JoNT and Newlife, you might enjoy Girl Life. It's a lifesim similar to Newlife, but with a lot more content (and more repetition). Most of the core content is translated, but you'll run into JoNT-esque slav translations occasionally.

Aside from that, I enjoy Night Games Mod and No Haven. The latter has promising mechanics, but is kind of an RNG clusterfuck combined with RAGS.

If you start looking into Metroidvania or Megaman type games and begin thinking about upgrades and how to use sex as a weapon or a way to succeed that should help you continue. I really like the idea of a good platforming sex game and I want to encourage you to keep going.

Keep practicing and you'll get better. Go through iterations of changing your artwork and artstyle until you can settle on something that you're proud of. Or hire an artist who has an art style you like.

One idea I've been having is that you need to collect an amount of semen or sexual energy to complete a stage or for upgrades kind of like how in certain Megaman games (I believe the Zero or ZX games) where you had to do the level at certain ratings to actually get the upgrade.

Upgrades could be like a bigger dick, limited flight, more or less clothes which make you more attractive to victims.

That's really where the problem originates. Every time I play a game, I think "this is pretty neat, but it would be nice if it had [fetish] too." If I tried to include all of my fetishes into the game, the scope would be enormous, and the project would be guaranteed vaporware. So it comes down to prioritizing fetishes.

The villagers and minions move around like little dots on the map, and the things they do show up in the event log. They have names that can be clicked, which brings their individual details to the info window.

The control space is where you'd set out actions for your minions, monitor the captives. You give your minions task, and how many to do it. You have them go kidnap at night, or make the dungeon longer, make more minions.

If you make the minions "open" the players base class can be anykind of monster they'd like, goblin, tentacles beast thing. The faping bit personally for me would be growing a large dungeon of minions and letting them wreck havok on the town. Or maybe kidnapping a male to turn into a minion and having his spouse come to dungeon to find him.

Neither. The map would be dynamic. Not based on tiles, but basic shapes drawn by the game. As the village grows new buildings would be added, and as the dungeon grows, tunnels would be "subtracted". (White tunnels drawn over the dark background) You'd see little circles moving around as the villagers minions work.

It would be a bit of eye candy really as you don't actually interact with it. I guess the drawf fortress influence would be how each entity has its own needs and tries to take of it self while still doing its job.

I'm assuming the macronutrients aren't semen? One strategy to stay focused is to make a short TODO list with 3-5 tasks before you start your dev session, then build them 1 by 1. games are experimental programming so the tasks don't need to be definite steps, more like:
research map generation
code basic map
fix unreachable map areas
make shitty graphics
implement graphics
code NPC/treasures on map

I focus on what the player will be doing, learning about, and being rewarded with. That dungeon idea wasn't mine, but I think it is really good because it gives you lewd stuff to do, a bunch of things to learn (related to the lewd), and lewd rewards.

The stuff you do is explore the sexy dungeon and consequently learn about the perverted things and treasure inside. one reward is the bad end when you run into perverted things you can't beat, and the permadeath lite rules encourage you to experiment with different equips to learn how to defeat perverted things next time around. obviously another reward is beating monsters and raping them, and learning about the monster PCs you can make via rape/being raped. plus growing the town is a long term reward that gives you new things to learn about with big-name adventurers for you to corrupt.

I could see myself enjoying making or playing that game.

I'd like to see more collaboration despite the style of game, but that's inherently hard in an anonymous community. And the stigma around sex in the US feeds the need for anonymity. I don't know if that will ever change. Small, skilled teams can make really great games, but in the current environment it is much easier to go it alone and make something ultimately less good.

Nostalgia made me reinstall SlaveMaker 3.
I grabbed 3.5 with all the packs, then installed the 3.5.0.1 update over it, but it won't work. I can load the .swf in Chrome, and I get the initial menu, but when I click any button except Credits, an animated silhouette of a girl with a whip show up and it hangs on that.
Any suggestions?

I played 3.5 about a week ago. Since the dev has been miserable and dying for years, I haven't read the blog posts, and didn't know about the 3.5.0.1 update; I just download the massive torrent.

From there, I've always run the .exe instead of loading the .swf in a browser. I believe I run SlaveMaker3.exe rather than SMM.exe. Though if you're on a different platform and avoiding the .exe for that reason, I can't offer much help.

If the damage can be simply deduced from the dealer and receiver - use a temp variable.

FC's code is an absolute monstrosity. There's a pretty active modding group over at 8ch that has to deal with it, and it's maddening. But it was his first coding project, so I'll give him credit for the end results.

I honestly don't know how anyone uses the Twine IDE. No full screen editor, no syntax highlighting, etc. I use SugarCube + the TweeGo compiler and a text editor of my choice. Completely tolerable experience.

Thanks anon, this is very helpful. Most of my coding experience comes from systems programming at work. I usually start out by mapping every possible action the user would need to perform, and then start tackling the entire thing. Game development is another thing entirely. It'll take some getting used to, but I appreciate your help.

I played 3.0 back when it came out enough to get a sense of the game. It gets repetitive very quickly and the slave packs are just images scraped from rule34.

I would say no. I play it for a couple hours every 6 months or so, but it gets tiresome very quickly. The slaves are very generic, and I spend more time on the PC actions than the slaves'.

These are just the stuff that gets run depending on which node the C++ code thinks is suitable to run (based mostly on the attributes{} block, and also the requirements{} block - it basically takes the attributes of every possible loli reaction to a scenario, and compares them to see which matches her stats the closest.

If you wanted to localize it to other languages, you'd face roughly the same workload as if I had external strings. And since these are all external interpreted files, this leaves it still entirely modable, while also letting modders have the freedom to have actions occur and write dynamic dialogue text, rather than just static strings in some text file.

Mundane things I think are interesting if they affect gameplay in some way, like you said. For example in Trap Quest if you don't piss for a while you end up just pissing all over the floor and depending on certain stats it can be embarrassing (I think the stat is humiliation). Combat: No use in whoring

Prostitution and Entertainment: Increase in money earned when whoring. Entertainment also increases rep gain during public service.

Attributes:
Intelligence; Higher is better.
Voice: Girly is better than feminine
Sexual Appeal: Varies by FS choices.
Sex Drive: Higher is better.
Fetish: Having one is better than Vanilla.

When you have everything maxed, the End of the Week description says something about your slave being used as a top escort, and they make like 3k credits.

This. I've yet to see 3D work well, especially when a game like FC has so many physical appearance variables to track that make them unique. Fuck, I'd take Kisekae bullshit before 3D.

Honestly though, FC needs to be rewritten. It was his first game, and he's done a commendable job with it, but it's nonetheless an absolute mess. I'd love to see it redone in something other than a javascript macro language, but if nothing else, ditch the Twine IDE and use TweeGo. Then you can break up your game into individual files, host them on GitHub/GitGud and accept pulls requests (this modularization also makes modding less of a bitch).

I could go on forever about content addition/changes, but that's up to the developer's preference. And after a consistent year and a half of anal rape, that ship has sailed.

Sometime last year, I decompiled the then-current version of FC and set it up with TweeGo. Some of the js had to be moved to a special userlib.js file in the sugarcube-2 directory. The rest were broken down by function and added to individual [script]-tagged files. It took something like 8 hours to do. I don't see why it couldn't be done today, but I haven't looked at the source since then.

Thanks anon, my pleasure. As I've explained before, I've got the time to incrementally improve FC right now, but learning a new language/engine is a hard lift. Honestly, I'd be interested in finding a group h-game project with collaborators capable of covering my lack of code knowledge if group h-game projects weren't such consistent clusterfucks.

But if I had unlimited time to make h-games solo, here are the ideas I'd pursue after FC 1.0:

Wasteland, a sequel to FC set in the post-apocalypse. Gameplay would be generally similar to FC, but with simplified clothes, body modifications, etc. Fairly robust combat system, with brutally deadly combat and an XCOM-esque interplay between tactical battles once a turn and strategic decisions about targeting, equipment, etc. Import save function from FC.

Unnamed breeding game. Turn length of about a year to emphasize multigenerational breeding programs. Fairly in-depth inherited traits system. Setting indeterminate, but I'd been leaning towards a far-future setting in a strongly religious state that places idiosyncratic limits on technology. Fully statted PC capable of taking part in the breeding, with PC succession to any viable child on PC death or retirement.

You set up a schedule and just end "next day" and it works well because the base of the game, isn't to live day by day, and like I said, there is a way to age up the slave.
For you I suggest two things: scheduler and a skip time system.
Maybe set it up so each day of the week I can set to do certain things. Giving the play multiple options, to either hit "next day" or "next week"

Semantics. The Twine program compiles Twee-style passages into an .html file using the chosen StoryFormat. The result is 'compiled' moreso in the sense of a compilation of papers than the compilation of source code. But to use TweeGo, you must decompile this into individual passage files and format them accordingly.

If you go back then they just revert back to their pre-marriage state

Normally 768 new images would constitute a meaty update. And making all those images probably was a lot of work, which I respect.

But I can't pretend to be thrilled. The current set omits piercings, tattoos, hairstyles, lips, brands, lactation, age, race, eyes, teeth, limb status, tendon status...basically all of the things that make slaves unique from each other. Slaves (even wildly different ones) feel samey enough as it is, the copy-paste images just reinforce that feeling. And the images in the slave market actively make it worse, by inserting the image in-between the "Do you want to buy" text and the actual description block. I don't recommend anyone download the imagepack, at least in its current state.

The only real way to make images work in FC is a paperdoll approach, and I don't see any drawfags trying to climb that mountain any time soon.
