How deep do you plan to go and how long you want to toy changes how deep you have to clean.
If you are not going past the first bend and want to toy for a short while then you don't need to clean out deeper.

If you don't plan to buy toys for it that are soft and well shaped. The next best thing you can do is "craft" them yourself.
Using ductape and some soft cloth material(socks for instance) you can change the shape(wrap it around and tape it to secure it). You can also just add socks on top of the object(over it) to increase the size and make it softer.(Use wool socks for more size and cushion, normal socks for more precision)
After you are done with it just add a condom over the entire thing and all you are set to go.
