Fellow /d/eviants, I think enough time has passed to see the creation of /aco/ and the removal of western art from /d/ in an objective light.

Please submit your opinion on the subject.
>>
my biggest gripe with this is that /d/ lost a good chunk of traffic, and is a lot slower than what it used to be.
>>
>>7157353
noone cares, go bitch about it at /qa/
>>
>>7157390

No bitching here. Just a poll to see what people think.
>>
/aco/ is a failed board. It's mostly /co/ thinking it's their board posting low quality western art I.e family guy tier art. The mods delete any relevant dumping. Lastly, the /aco/ cowboy mascot is utter shit and any /co/ fags here reading this kill your self
>>
>>7157353
>Did the removal of western art improve your /d/ browsing experience?
Some good stuff is still getting posted, and autists are fortunately not around all the time to report them.

If it was actually westernless it would be so much fucking worse.
The real filter everyone can agree on is quality, not origin. Dump trash like simpsons/other "less is more" style parodies and let high quality western art flourish.

>removal of western art
Didn't happen, we just got a particularly tenacious jihadist mod for a while right after. /aco/'s creation wouldn't have even affected us if it hadn't been for that. Instead, that faggot managed to drive probably over half the board population away from /d/, probably a lot of them away from 4chan entirely.
>>
/aco/ split kind of pushed /d/ during a tumultuous time. Fetishes have begun to ooze into other board culture slowly but surely as /d/ lost its notorious edge. BBW, futa, ss, NTR, BE, monster girls, etc. have kind of drifted into mainstream fetishes. There's nothing wrong with this in of itself, last thing we need are fetish hipsters, but the problem is a lot of tame people are showing up and getting mad at fetishes they don't understand while the veteran audience slowly drifts away due to the inherent rule restrictions limiting their content. My favorite artist is horihone saizou but while it was posted a decade ago without too much fear, I feel the prospect of underage or even furry tends to detour people from really getting into it. This problem doesn't have an easy answer and seems to be circumvented habitually with traps appearing underage and tf resulting in furry or beastiality. /aco/ fractured /d/ which was already in a habit of continuous futa posting. I typically get my /d/ content from pixiv now but I'm severely lacking in new doujin which /d/ can't provide.

Tl;dr Interesting, strange, and niche porn has gotten stagnant on this site and I have been here too long.
>>
Been on /d for a loooooong time off and on, and I've never had a problem with high quality western art here really. What I will say is that I recently came back after a year or two break from 4chan completely, and I'm sad to see how slow the board is currently.

Or all of his scat stuff. Holy shit so much scat, I can smell it from my monitor.
I kinda like his stuff outside of that.
>>
>>7157580
Forgot about that stuff. I was speaking generally though with risqué stuff.
>>
I always saw /d/ as sanctuary for all kind of less common fetishes; the split moved some content that was aggregated by fetishes in a board that is about the style.

So now we have a board about hentai, a board about hentai, but more fetish-oriented, and a board about adult western cartoons that uses content that was previously on the fetish board: at this point it would make more sense creating a /d/-kind of /aco/, but I doubt there's enough content and interest for that, or allow /d/ to keep /aco/ stuff as long as it's about the fetish rather than the style/author. Except for Dmitry's, since /d/ stands for /d/mitry's.

I actually really dislike Dmitrys.

But let me get this straight: 10 pages of crappy japanese porn is better than 10 pages of good western porn?
And I am not even talking about the censorship, I am talking about the art quality.

/d/ turned into a weeb circlejerk.

Honestly Western is what drove me from /d, and the massive amount that still exists in threads is what makes me come here infrequently. Western used to be very rare on /d Dmitrys was one of only a small handful now its everywhere. And threads like posting whole doujinishi are a rarity. Basically with western came the end of content.

Wow you really quacked the code
>>
>>7158305
You know that pic's western, right?

Besides, western didn't kill doujin dumping, sadpanda, captcha, and posting cooldown timers did. Before sadpanda became very well known, we mostly used rapidshare and megaupload to share whole doujinshi/manga, though those were still a little inconvenient (wait thirty seconds, captcha, etc.) and didn't give you a good look at what you were getting.

Add in the spread of captcha just to post afterwards, which effectively killed autodump extensions and the like, and dumping on 4chan became a massive chore.

Western artists happened to be getting more prolific and common during this period, but that was almost entirely coincidental. /d/ always welcomed western, but there just wasn't anything like the same volume of halfway decent western ten years ago as there was eastern. These days output is relatively similar, with western artists being more accessible and therefore more "fannable."

If you ask me, that's the only actual problem with western--people start feeling like they're connected somehow to these artists, so they tend to post with their tongues planted quite firmly inside their favorite artist's butthole.
>>
I gave up after 4 CAPTCHAs since I forgot answering them quickly means I'm a bot.
Just add +1 to the "no" column from me, but at the same time I do think there's an issue with low quality Western art getting posted.
>>
>>7157353
>Did the removal of western art improve your /d/ browsing experience?
Define "improve".
I spend much less time on /d/ now that I can only count on getting half the content I used to and I almost never post here anymore, so I guess you could say I browse /d/ more efficiently.
I don't go to /aco/ to make up the difference either since it's generally so terrible.

It's a bit amazing that /aco/ is so shit it can make several other boards worse just by existing.

How about you regualte the fuking futa overload first. It takes up like half of /d/ almost 24/7 and is being necro bumped constantly.
>>
The only good thing to find on /aco/ is comic books that might not pass on /co/'s blue board, and that happens too rarely to bother sifting through all the shitty American cartoon porn.
>>
>>7159005
>poll isn't going his way
get fucked
>>
desu the only good thing to come from /aco/ existing is the western r34 finally having its own niche
>>
>>7160970
/aco/ is also open to the burgeoning 3D scene and videogame stuff that used to be somewhat popular on /d/ before the split completely killed any traction for it here.
>>
>>7157365
/d/ used to have what was probably the closest thing to a perfect amount of traffic to necessitate a balance in thread longevity with novel post frequency. Now both it and /aco/ are slow as fuck.

Case in point, as a former /d/ regular, aside from staying updated on Dmitrys this is the first time I've even opened a /d/ thread in weeks and before that it was months. /d/ had been waning as the place to get new content for a while up till the split. It was the board culture that drew people to /d/, but with the /aco/ debacle that was destroyed and nothing has filled the vacuum since.
>>
>>7159005
The proportions haven't changed much since 17 votes in ("no" got up to 69% at one point) so probably just being paranoid as usual.
>>
now we have 2 boards that suck instead of 1 that's decent
>>
But will mods take notice of this thread and act accordingly when the time comes? No. No they will not.

Results are beyond obvious at this point as well which I think is pretty funny.

The problem I see with /aco/ is that it's a dumping ground for all the utter cringy fetish threads that faggots tried to have on /co/.

/co/ still has at least one dedicated fat fag who tries to turn every thread into a fat thread, though. Fucking faggot.

I'm aware that Imgur.com will stop allowing adult images since 15th of May. I'm taking actions to backup as much data as possible.
