Remember even with an infinite budget you need people with the skills and who (at least designers) understand the fetish. Also, you might know what general way you want the gameplay to be, but the details will make a difference in quality. I suppose with an infinite budget you could just trial-and-error forever. But not all workers, especially good developers / designers, will want to do the same shit over and over again trying to get things right. You could pay them more, but they might decide to retire instead of work on a game that they (probably) don't care about after you give them loadsamoney

Actually fans of Pikmin call it some of the most stressful games they have ever played especially Pikmin 1 in atmosphere, Pikmin 2 in dungeons, and Pikmin 3 in gameplay.

The Pikmin loyally swear everything, even their lives to aid you (probably because they are grossly unintelligent, prone to accident and death, and on the bottom of the food chain), and if any die it's your fault. If you're really bad you can even cause the almost extinction of the culture of them in the biome.

See, globally in the series your oxygen tanks only give you 13 minutes of breathable surface air on Distant Planet (Earth). That's the annoying timer.

If you fail to have any Pikmin under your watch at 13 minutes exactly they are left behind as you do your nightly evac and are messily devoured in a special cutscene by the mobs.

Unless you deliberately get off to this, you have no idea how heartbreaking it is to watch creatures who form ranks and risk their lives just to help you die for your ignorance.

But what's more is that in the first game, you have thirty play sessions to beat the final boss before you bad end.

In the second you can't bad end yourself but dungeons have no Pikmin spawn points, so if any die in service you can't replenish until you reach the surface again and I think all the bosses are in the dungeons at final floors.

In the third you have crew hunger meters which if you empty, they starve to death, unable to muster the energy to even search for more food.

Honestly my ideal size RTS would have none of these things besides optional challenges because I wish they were calm and RTSes are already hella stressful.
