I sometimes feel the /d/, /aco/ was a really bad decision. They should have just made /d/ be "Erotic Fetish Artwork" or something along those lines, where artwork is drawn or animated stuff (unsure if you can have 3D stuff here, else it could be included), Everyone would had been happy then.
Also how do you draw the barrier of hentai or western? I've seen hentai artist do styles that are close to western and western artist do pretty clearly traditional manga styles, and a lot of in between fall through the cracks, if it's non cannon how do you know if place it here or not?

Back when it started, 4chan was originally a website for discussing anime, manga and other aspects of Japanese culture. /d/ was one of the earliest boards created (almost exactly a year before /v/), back when most of it was Japanese stuff, and as such was designated the title Hentai/Alternative. It made sense over ten years ago, since there really wasn't a lot of Western-drawn porn, and even less of stuff that would be considered 'alternative'. In comparison, Japan has had an industry for the stuff for years, so a board dedicated to it made sense. Today, since the Internet is a staple for damn near every person, it's easy for Western artists to create and share their work compared to 13 years ago.

Basically, /d/'s classification as Hentai is just a holdover from its incarnation, but today it's within reason for there to be Western art on it. Because of the more niche status of the content found on the board, it flourishes much better when mixing both Western and Eastern works, and I think the mods understand that now.

Had a thought to change premise: make it a gameshow to expand objects (candy would be fruit mainly)

Contestants are transformed into objects and have to see if they last being used by unknown persons for a day or something. So, someday is a fruit and have to avoid being juiced or pulped, laundry but not shrunk, a car but not crushed into a cube.

It's all chance so contestants rely on luck, the unlucky ones return to study to be turned back to human, but in their failed state (eg, the crushed caris returned to being a person but in a cube form)
