There's no animations really. There's a couple of the old animations still in, but they're basically replacing everything with new ones.
The only new animations in game are Female Breeder X Catgirl + Variants.
Female Breeder X Shotacat is kawaii.

In terms of game mechanics, Y'all can breed things together and harvest them for shit.
All that shit works fine.
They're planning a UI update which will have better sorting options and an actual inventory screen, so selling all your harvested shit will be easier.

I honestly cannot understand the design philosophy behind games like this or that people actually enjoy them. If you're going to make a porn game then obviously the porn is a reward mechanic, getting to the sex scenes is the incentive behind playing although you can make getting to that point erotic as well.

But games like this that repeat the same scenes over and over again do the absolute opposite of that and turn everything into a tedious grind. Why? YYYYYYY? If there was some sort of addition incentive behind it or if you needed to tame the monsters before mating them then I would understand but this seems like an anti-game meant to deliver the content in flimsy framework and not actually have you want to do anything.

In all fairness, most indie games are single-man jobs. ETO is one of the few collaberative indie games; we average 4-6? people working on different parts of the game at once. Plus the features we import from the Russian developers' version of the game.

There are multiple starts. One you start out as a guy, get magic'd into a woman, so are already an adult. Tends to be more focused around turn-based combat and borderline silly magic (lots of Naruto cosplay images).

Another start you start as a young teen girl. Here you can choose 15 or 16, note that your last year of high school is the one you're 16, so you effectively choose between getting kicked out after two years or one. (Also, some of the most lucrative adult jobs are limited to 16+, like porno work and nude photography. So you make less money as a youth). This start has none of the magical/fantasy aspects, and has more pure smut content. In my opinion, this is the best start.

The last start unlocks both branches.

Another good way to learn games is to rip code from others with the same engine as yours, as odd as it sounds. Say another's game does something cool you want yours to do, you find the bit of code that governs it and copy it into your own. I know this sounds bad, but hear me out.

To get it to work properly, particularly in your story's settings, you'll have to tweak values one at a time (maybe referencing different places, or people, or numbers). This will teach you how that segment's inputs and outputs work. And by knowing this inputs and outputs, you can understand what changing each core part of the code segment does by how it effects the output. And you'll also have the original thing you copied, so if you ever break that modified segment of code, you can look back at the original to see how a working version looks like to help you find out what went wrong.

Not only that, but you'll often stumble across many far more elegant ways of getting certain things to happen by seeing how an expert coder does it. Personally, I'd say two-thirds of the code I would have written, I learned how to write with far less complexity and inefficient by copying how an expert did it better than I.

Major factors:

Self-Care: Mostly temporary stuff. Bathing, tanning, getting a hair do, shaving legs, makeup, clear skin, etc.

Body: Youth provides a plus, missing teeth (from getting in fights) a malus. Hip:waist ratio also helps a little (can only really be controlled via diet/weight), as does having longer eyeleashes and larger lips (provided by beauty salons and plastic surgery).

Speaking of games on tfgamessite, I have been checking out this little project:

It's a (western-developed) RPGMaker game in which you play a guy who accidentally ends up in a magical girl academy with a director that does not tolerate men on the premises under any circumstances.

He's kinda stuck there (it's magic, we don't gotta explain shit) and starts crossdressing with the help of fellow students to better fit into the school.

Most of the dungeon-crawling is your run-of-the-mill jRPG combat, however the story and events are written to both allow you to either avoid making your disguise more convincing than absolutely necessary or getting "upgrades" to it (some voluntary, some accidental). I'll avoid spoiling some of the surprise/hidden ones (as /d/ has no spoiler tag option) but one of the early ones which show up naturally/as part of a conversation are magically changing your voice to sound more femenine (lest someone notices/points it out).

A few others will alter your physique more radically (though basically making you a perfect trap, the game doesn't feature turning you into an actual girl yet).

Current game is about 2-3 hours long which you can double if you decide to do it a second time picking the other options (one getting all transformations and another missing all).
There are about 4 special endings I can recall from the top of my head (but I think there were a few more):
- Turned into a little girl
- Turned into a living statue
- Turned into an alraune
- Turned into a mind-controlled maid with a tiny penis (game is quite explicit about that)

Probably missed a few that require to be more rebellious/not allow the main character getting transformed.

I'll only post how to *start* event chains, not all their events, to avoid spoilers. These are only applicable to the village, and do not cover city events.

Family

Right now, the fat vs muscle mechanics are a bit broken. (I haven't gottten around to fixing them yet.)

Basically you have two scores: fat and muscle. Whichever is higher determines your physique. So, for example, having 100 fat and 101 muscle makes you a total body builder, which having 101 fat and 100 muscle makes you chubby. (Yeah, it's broke, I know).

Muscle comes from having higher strength and stamina scores, and also exercising -- jogging or buying home exercise gear from the mall's sports store -- can reduce fat and raise strength/stamina.

Fat comes from eating past the point your food meter is full. Ice cream at the super market also increases fat a lot (and gives you a large mood increase, to boot).

I made a hackjob edit to Free Cities so I could experiment with having more than three Future Societies at once. It turns out that this is both fun and good. It really lets you shape your society to your tyrannical, exacting specifications.

I set it up so you get a total of six choices--you get one to start, two more for passing the first rep barrier, and the last three for crossing the final hurdle. Since you won't have the money to pursue all of those Future Societies until the endgame anyway, this works out nicely.

Not sure if bait. Savescumming is often seen as more pathetic than to just run cheats because of how much of a waste of time it is.

If you are going to cheat at least don't waste time on it. Otherwise play the game by the rules.
In fact some game devs will allow you to savescum for "test runs" of the game (where you can just aswell use built-in console commands/cheat codes) but disable achievements, only awarding them if you are running on a dark souls-style saving system (game saves on death/every few minutes/dungeons)

After trying out Girl Life for a bit, I can't help but think this is how New Life should been.
It's a very good game with lots of content, branches and fun small thing to manage and change. However, the English community version is very bad, broken English everywhere.
Which is made worse by the very short sex scenes, it's just short paragraphs accompanied by a image. (If image pack is installed)

Which works, but is very boring especially after having to read the same few dialogues 20 times at specific points of days before this small scene happens. Which is fine when you get scenes with proper English but when you get G.translate scenes it's very lackluster, but that's to be expected. I've probably only found about 50% of the content though, but the frequent broken English has me pulling away from the game.

Everything else I see in the game is very nice and doesn't seem to be very complex, which makes me want to remake / make a similar game in Twine. (Fuck that bright white background GL has)

Anything new about Malise and the Machine? I've seen it discussed a few times here

I was thinking of adding to the TG rpgmaker pile.

After playing a few, a couple things stick out in my mind about rpgmaker games.

The biggest, is that everyone sticks to the default battle engine, which kind of sucks. If you were to mod it or build a new one in the rpgmaker programming environment, what would you want?

Things I'd want are:

Speed button. Let me burn through shit battles.
No random battles. Let me see the monsters.
Maybe get rid of the random battles entirely and mod in a Y's like battle system. Or a zelda like battle system.
Maybe mod in a Phantasy Star 4 like system where I can see the back of the characters.
Maybe mod in something like War Song / Advanced Wars where I have little armies. Or maybe rts like Shining Force.
Or maybe weird stuff like Undertale where different gameplay is mixed?

Story wise, I'd like to have a mostly silent protagonist. Let the player pick basic things. Like, the hero just dressed up as a girl and got fucked in the ass by a succubus futa. Let the player pick if the hero liked it. Then let the game play out accordingly. If you liked it, maybe you'll get the chance ot be a succubus, or become king of the succubuses. If you hated it, well you can continue upon your marry way.

I'd also like to see if more can be done with the actual level design. Frankly, a lot of what I've seen is rubbish. Its just NES stile mapping with 32 bit sprites. I wonder if I can pay someone to draw out a whole area, then build a grid under it for boundaries.

Lastly, I'd like a real TG journey. None of this horse shit where you become a girl or boy in the first 10 minutes and then you play some bland rpg for 20 hours. I want real choices, and I want them to impact the transformation, and I want it to be in stages.

A few things I have seen done with RPGMaker to avoid/adress this:
- There are scripts for RPGMaker 2000 that turn the game into an action RPG (VH and RyonaRPG, if you don't know them think Legend of Mana/Zelda). That's one way to address it
- Others focus on the dungeon-crawling/dungeon puzzles/fetch quests to avoid combat altogether, turning the games into a puzzle games/escape the room games (see: some of yonyon's games where you have to switch bodies with other characters in order to reach certain regions or you need to beat enemies in a certain order to get specific items/equipment as said enemies have fixed health and attack you can exploit)

How about if you are too strong go the Earthbound route and auto-resolve them.

You can program this to happen in RPGMaker games and the trap RPGMaker one I linked way at the start of the thread does this (though it uses movement patterns so while you can avoid them you need to learn said patterns to do so).

Something other than people using rpgmaker to write down their fantasies. Most of them aren't very good. The kink, imo, is in the options. And the slow change.

It would also allow for more gameplay. Like, one go through you pick choices a "normal" person would choose, and you amuse yourself as your character slowly descend into madness as their body changes. Another play through you might have the mc embrace it and never be happier.

That's all fine, but an hour or two of gameplay with a ton of choices and your environment reacting to all those choices properly is still a lot of work.
I'd first work on just one route, get that done and then add another route, maybe just the first hour or two for every route, but still route after route for every new segment of the game.
Your project sounds like one you can easily get lost in and feel like you don't make any progress because of having to account for all those choices/options/possible outcomes.
