Meh, I can believe him. I mean, the trick isn't neccissarily that they won't do anything they don't want to do, but more rather they'll do what they expect will happen if they believe it enough. I've sometimes found unwilling subjects work well because their fear tends to come from a strong sense of belief.

Not sure about doing it over the internet though; I've always found the lack of body language quite a barrier. You'd need someone who was really susceptible to strange belief systesm. But then again, he did say he found this person on /x/.
