That's a new one for me. I thought the main point of contention was that /aco/ wanted to be sufficiently vanilla and leave /d/-tier content to /d/ regardless of origin.

I also thought /d/ has wanted western content out forever.

A small vocal minority did, but most users care more about the fetish itself than the source of the art. Far more people complained in the mod's initial split thread and ever since than people that complained about Western on /d/ for years beforehand. There's still quite a few of threads on /qa/ about it, too.

You're right about /aco/'s desire though, as far as I can tell.

Such oppressive rules can only be a hindrance to any sensible goal /d/ might have. I can't imagine who would give a shit about what general part of the world the artist came from. And really, that attitude can only serve to further divide easterners from westerners in the western perspective, making the people of the east ut to be the only ones capable of actual quality in these areas of fetishes.
