Why doesn't anyone want to talk about tentacles?

for me its a few things
-tentacles are basically idealized dicks

The heroine is "bought" by what appears to be a monster who then turns out to be a really handsome and charming guy. Its basically prince charming, the story.

The biggest problem i have with it is that the author doesn't know how to grab your attention and make you keep reading. There is simply too much slice of life...the attempts at explaining the way magic works in the setting is lackluster and forgettable. The characters also feel one dimensional and the heroine is particularly bland and her attitude is just "oh well whatever" the whole time.

Depends all on your implementation. In my later years of EPR I played a humanoid tentacle creature.
