what did you think of Grant Morrison's Event Horizon starring

I want to make it into a cosmic horror movie that leaves out all the meta bullshit. Because without it it's one of the best horror comics I've ever read.
Just the image of that giant sword door gives me chills.

xibalba is both a literal monolith/prison and a metaphor for the other-dimensional being infecting our reality via hijacking minds. Nameless was simultaneously in space and living out a vision of himself in space. they stop Xibalba by simultaneously crashing it into the moon in the future while Nameless gouges out his eyes in the past, which stains half the moon black but locks the prison shut again and spares Humanity from being completely wiped out by the deranged frenzy Xibalba was inflicting on them.

Or something along those lines.

Point of note: Xibalba is referred to as 'the wormwood palace'. wormwood is what absinthe used to be made with and was notorious for being hallucineginic and/or mind-opening but science found nothing to indicate that absinthe itself was actually psychoactive and have instead concluded it was contaminants such as copper salts added for coloring that cause absinthe to effect people differently to regular alcohol.
