I don't think a single one of these has looked good. And I get to the bottom of that atomhawk faggots designs and it all made sense.

There are a few cardinal sins for redesigning Superman.And this one hit them all.
If you RD Supes always keep in mind:

>Don't connect the shield and cape.
>No cowl (or in this case half cowl).
>No armor
>No gloves

He doesn't have any boots, he doesn't have any yellow, he doesn't have a belt or anything to split up the blue. This is legitimately one of the worse superman designs ever.

I can of hate how Brainiac has become another "tank" character.

I love how in the Silver Age, he wasn't necessarily the strongest, but he challenged Superman with his mind, and had that inpenetrable force field, so that Superman couldn't just punch him out.

I don't mind the idea of making him strong enough to go toe-to-toe with Superman, but his basic design should still emphasize that he is a mental character over a physical character. I'm not really into the whole tacticool alien-armour big-guy look. I understand not putting him in short-shorts, but just put him in something minimalistic and streamlined.

Digital illustration is such a cancer on concept design; its become a race to fill space with as much textures and design and greebles as can fit, and digital lets you do so damn much of it. Everything feels so busy and self-absorbed, like the artist is trying to impress you. There's a time and place for these designs, and a lot of them would be fine in other uses, but as other characters or in other roles. There's a lot of cool space marines and fantasy warriors and shit, but not necessarily superheroes.
