It's a damn shame. It was only like two months before she turned 100 too. At least she had a very long life and did a lot.

Damn. I always thought she'd be the one to outlive Stan. Not a bad run.

Godspeed, June. You made me believe a squirrel could fly, taught Donald Duck the error of his ways on Halloween, made sure that Sylvester's succotash was kept in a state of sufferin', and you were a wicked witchy woman who was always a day late and a (lucky) dime short. You were one of the great voices of my childhood and I'll always love you for it. Rest in peace, Ms. Foray.

Yea and I made a thread almost 5 months ago regarding the finding of the frosty original audio. Too bad the video is not on youtube anymore.
https://desuarchive.org/co/thread/90346935/#90346935
2 questions and I want other's opinions here.

1. Do you think that CBS this year will air Frosty the snowman will the original audio actually showing June voicing Karen out of respect?
2. Do you think that we can find the unknown child actors who replaced her using weaponized autism?

I really hoped she could at least make it to 100.

Could she record Magica's lines for new DuckTales before she passed?
>>
>>94194495
She was one of the last looney tunes voice actors left.
>>
>>94194495
>Being underaged
MMMMOOOODDDDDSSSSS
>>
>>94194495
She was basically the female Mel Blanc. While Mel Blanc voiced most of the male Looney Tunes characters she voiced the females including Granny and Witch Hazel. She's been in voice acting longer the anyone.
She also did, Betty Rubble, Rocky the Squirrel, Natasha, Magica De Spell, etc.
>>
>>94194537
Though Bea Benaderet voiced most of the female Looney Tunes characters in the '40s and early '50s. After she left Foray took over as Granny, Witch Hazel and a few others.

No sense getting mad at it. 99 is still a good run and tomorrow is not guaranteed. I'm just happy she held together so well. Most people who hit 90 aren't nearly in as good shape as she was. She had her mind and was still able to live an active life. I hope I age so well.

It's hard to believe there are people over 14 that don't know her, I know there's some bait in here, but even if it was all bait, it's still true with some people. 20 years old here, and while I haven't seen that much of Rocky and Bullwinkle since I was maybe 4, I knew her other roles extensively. Poor sweet lady. At least she isn't suffering anymore, being 99 had to have its downsides, aches and such. Does anyone know why she passed? Just age? I can't load any pages for some reason despite this one loading and refreshing just fine.

RIP, F, etc. Can't get out of my slump and these kinds of deaths hit harder than others, despite them being sad too.

I don't think you really need much of an explanation beyond natural causes when you're 99, but she was fairly spry for her age, still working and living unassisted.

There must`ve been black magic in
That Popsicle they found
For when some wise-ass jammed it in his crotch
He began to rape the town

Oh, Frosty was horny
Driven mad with lust was he
And the children fled and the town went dead
Better send in the Marines

Guys, I think I'm onto something.

In Dota 2, there is a Hero called "Shadow Fiend." He is a demon who steals souls and grows stronger with each he takes. Upon his death, he releases all the souls imprisoned...
This is what Shadow Fiend looks like with his Arcana.

Now, tell me if he doesn't look like Dormammu... a character CREATED by Stan Lee, and Stan Lee has perfect rhymtic flow with Shadow Fiend. Could Stan Lee really be the real world equivolent of Shadow Fiend?

If so, how can we stop him so that he releases all the souls he has imprisoned? Stan has Silver Edge, Bloodthorn, Boors of Travel V2, Monkey King Bar, Aghanim's Scepter and Desolater equipped.

She had very similar features her whole life and some people just have good genes, she did live to 99 (and her sister just passed at 93) after all.

>The Animal
Man, that one hit home. I wrote to him last summer to say that I always enjoyed his matches and that I'd like to hear some of his stories from back in the day, so he sent me a signed copy of his autobiography. I finished reading it about a month before he passed away.

One of the best road stories in there was that some guy followed him upstairs in a bar to wait outside the bathroom so he could harass him about wrestling being fake and said he could whoop the Animal, no sweat. He'd apparently been loudly declaring this all through the night, so George finally asked if he'd drop it if he proved the guy wrong. The guy agreed and decided to charge him, only to be judo thrown over his shoulder which landed him square on his back with a loud thud. He apologized and offered to buy George a drink. When they got back downstairs, the occupants of the barroom were staring at the two with shocked expressions. George figures they'd made too much noise and the police were on the way to arrest the pair, but then they realized that, in the exact area he'd slammed the guy upstairs which happened to be right above the bar downstairs, the impact had knocked out the sheetrock of the ceiling in a perfect cartoon-style silhouette. The bar broke out into applause and the bartender/owner had George sign the ceiling.

I don't like phonies who just pretend they care for pity. I'm a huge David Clowie fan and when he died last year all the facebook posts going on about how much they miss him despite only knowing the song Major Todd pissed me off. Now fuck off back to /a/ you faggot.

There was a long, detailed thread about June going back to either 2012 or 2013. Don't know if it is still around.
>>
>>94195105
If you really don't know who the fuck she is on THIS board, then 4chan has truly shifted in its userbase over the last 2-3 years.

Also, day of all days, I was expecting a sticky for this legendary woman. She was the queen of voice acting and if not for her, the Annie Awards may not even exist. She did so much in her voice acting career and for animation in general, but she can't even get a sticky on this board about cartoons..

I knew there was a reason why I stopped visiting years ago...
>>
>>94197327
I had no idea she was on Stern. Love it.

She had a sticky, but then people started complaining and the sticky got dropped when it was deemed not worthy enough.

It really isn't, most people don't know and don't care to know the names of VAs

Complaining about what?
Who the fuck deemed June Foray not worthy enough? At almost 100 years and a career that spun itself through several decades and generations, it is a damned insult not to have her death notice stickied up top for the entire day. She was the last link to the "golden era" of animation. I always envisioned that when she would finally pass on (real shame she didn't get to join the centenarian club), there would be a grand sticky here with a pouring of well wishes. The fact that this thread has been up since the start of yesterday, and only has this many posts, is a glaring admission that this board doesn't get the traffic it used to and alot of the 'old guard' has moved on. It's made worse by the fact that because of bumbling incompetence, this thread is not currently stickied. You had one job.

This (incompetence), and other reasons is why I don't visit here anymore. I visited every day for seven years, posted under a name, but due to various issues, I found I grew up and out of this place. This is my first post here in just over two years. I figure I had to come back, to pay my respects to a woman whom the likes of which we will never see again in the animation/voice acting industry.

RIP June Foray, you deserved much better than this on this board. You lived too long, in fact - for the last generation to still love and appreciate you left this place a long time ago.
>>

Same guy

A lot of troll "Who?" posts and lol sticky can't get up to 400 posts.

To be fair the other half of the board wouldn't know her and a lot of animation don't care to learn voice actors to be quite honest.
>>
>>94224957
>To be fair the other half of the board wouldn't know her
She voiced a plethora of cartoon characters, her career extended over lifetimes. You "know" June, even if you didn't know "June". I read something today that nearly brought me to tears:

"Simply irreplaceable. And another link to the past gone. But she’s in your head right now. Several of her, as a matter of fact. Even if you had no idea who she was, she owns a slice of your memory, your childhood. And that doesn’t change with death."
>>
At least it was of old age.

Rest in peace.

Here is another thought: there is something very sad about how Alan Young and June Foray, both the longest lived cast members from the original 1980s DuckTales series, both died about a year apart from each other. Then you have this new DuckTales reboot, announced in February 2015 and premiering in August, in just a few weeks.

It kind of makes you think, if this reboot was attempted five or six years ago, would they have been considered for reprising their roles? I mean why wouldn't they be, they *were* the characters, and they were still active actors into their old ages. Perhaps I find it a bitter pill to swallow, that this new DuckTales show...is a completely "new" series, with a completely new voice cast with new music and animation. It is DuckTales for the new generation. Therein lies my bitterness. The nostgalia fag in me wants to berate that the younger crop of fans won't know of, or won't care about, the original cartoon. They will be just happy with this new rebooted fest of flashy color and zany social marketing. New cartoons really need their own Twitter account now? Fuck right off with that shit. Its cringe worthy BS and doesn't come off as sincere in the slightest - just a marketing tactic from head office. I've never been a fan of social media, so to see DuckTales mixed with hashtags...in my head, it just doesn't compute.

My childhood is rotting away from me and these soulless, carbon copy reboots taint the legacy of their respective elders. Take that shit and shove it, I ain't workin' here no more.

I don't entirely blame Disney for getting new actors for the DuckTales reboot.

Alan Young could still do a great Scrooge, but Foray was already retired (to an extent) from voice acting.

Given their advanced ages, Disney didn't want to worry about two old pros kicking the bucket during production when they can just get new blood cheap.

The last time June Foray did Magica's voice. She sounds rather congested here, but then again she was 95 at the time.
