Don't prune mods, reliable source:
Godspeed, June. You made me believe a squirrel could fly, taught Donald Duck the error of his ways on Halloween, made sure that Sylvester's succotash was kept in a state of sufferin', and you were a wicked witchy woman who was always a day late and a (lucky) dime short. You were one of the great voices of my childhood and I'll always love you for it. Rest in peace, Ms. Foray.
>Mel, Alan, and June are all gone
How do you think she died?
Fuck. And she kept working until the end, too.
An example of her work with Stan Freberg, who was also one of the last surviving voice actors from Looney Tunes before his passing in 2015.
Huh, that's the day before Adam West's.
Oh, god. What beloved cultural icons were born on September 17th might the cosmos claim next to continue its cycle of decay?

Truly an amazing person, a pioneer, who lived a full life.
at least she lived a fucking long ass life and actually still worked during a good chunk of it.
she reprised her role as magica de spell in the ducktales remaster game and that was like 4 years ago.
May she RIP
And it's a good thing that somebody restored the original audio of her voicing karen in "Frosty The Snowman".
I wonder if she watched it before she died.
One of the rare occasion someone live that long. RIP.
Wew. Just found another link for the video. It's not on youtube though.
Couldn't post the full link cause the system says that it's spam. Wish someone would re-upload it on youtube.
She was always in damn good shape for her age too. Being able to not just live to 99 but being able to enjoy life right up to the end is a blessing. Sucks to lose her though. She was a legend in her own time.
Yea and I made a thread almost 5 months ago regarding the finding of the frosty original audio. Too bad the video is not on youtube anymore.
2 questions and I want other's opinions here.
1. Do you think that CBS this year will air Frosty the snowman will the original audio actually showing June voicing Karen out of respect?
2. Do you think that we can find the unknown child actors who replaced her using weaponized autism?
I really hoped she could at least make it to 100.
Could she record Magica's lines for new DuckTales before she passed?
She was basically the female Mel Blanc. While Mel Blanc voiced most of the male Looney Tunes characters she voiced the females including Granny and Witch Hazel. She's been in voice acting longer the anyone.
She also did, Betty Rubble, Rocky the Squirrel, Natasha, Magica De Spell, etc.
It makes me so mad, she had just 3 more months to go to be 100.
No sense getting mad at it. 99 is still a good run and tomorrow is not guaranteed. I'm just happy she held together so well. Most people who hit 90 aren't nearly in as good shape as she was. She had her mind and was still able to live an active life. I hope I age so well.
That time Witch Hazel turned into June Foray.
>George A. Romero died two weeks ago
>Now June Forday dies as well
This July sucks
>muh press 'F' for the fallen meme
So tired of this forced meme. Also, do we really need a thread everytime someone dies that has made any contribution to pop culture? People like Adam West definately, but literally who is this even?
The last of the original looney toons voice actors, rocky and a list of many other characters. Just because you don't know how to fucking google dosen't mean this pioneer of voice acting wasn't important to a lot of people
Our flag better go half mast for this.
They did it for Joe Alaskey and Janet Waldo.
So, how many other actors, voice or otherwise, worked across seven consecutive decades?
>>The old bitch is gone. My time has come.
Get on your knees, anon!
Sadly the original Looney Tunes run was on its death knell in the late '60s. When it finally folded, dePatie and Freleng created their own company which got bought by Marvel in the '80s.
I know of one man, but unfortunately he has the habit of folding in under pressure.
Never watched Rocky and Bullwinkle as my dad hated it for some reason but Looney Tunes was my childhood.
It finally happened...
And yet, its kinda hard to be sad. She had a long life. 96 is incredible. And after doing so many roles for so long, it feels like she's earned her rest, ya know?
Bye Granny. Thank you.
Dammit Gilbert, this was the one guest I wanted you to have on your show and instead your farted around and did nothing and now it's too late!
It's hard to believe there are people over 14 that don't know her, I know there's some bait in here, but even if it was all bait, it's still true with some people. 20 years old here, and while I haven't seen that much of Rocky and Bullwinkle since I was maybe 4, I knew her other roles extensively. Poor sweet lady. At least she isn't suffering anymore, being 99 had to have its downsides, aches and such. Does anyone know why she passed? Just age? I can't load any pages for some reason despite this one loading and refreshing just fine.
RIP, F, etc. Can't get out of my slump and these kinds of deaths hit harder than others, despite them being sad too.
I don't think you really need much of an explanation beyond natural causes when you're 99, but she was fairly spry for her age, still working and living unassisted.
It's been said two close family members passed recently which can often contribute

Guys, I think I'm onto something.
In Dota 2, there is a Hero called "Shadow Fiend." He is a demon who steals souls and grows stronger with each he takes. Upon his death, he releases all the souls imprisoned...
This is what Shadow Fiend looks like with his Arcana.
Now, tell me if he doesn't look like Dormammu... a character CREATED by Stan Lee, and Stan Lee has perfect rhymtic flow with Shadow Fiend. Could Stan Lee really be the real world equivolent of Shadow Fiend?
If so, how can we stop him so that he releases all the souls he has imprisoned? Stan has Silver Edge, Bloodthorn, Boors of Travel V2, Monkey King Bar, Aghanim's Scepter and Desolater equipped.

Can I ask you a serious question?
Why do you get upset at people offer condolences? Like it's not hurting you in any way and the families/friends of June will appreciate the support so why?
I'm 20 years old you cunt
And even then I have never heard of her nor have ever seen amy of those cartoons she apparently was in
Go fuck yourself, not my fault her only works were shit only dweebs know about
Capeshit illuminati that run this board are pissed off that they have one less thread to bitch about one of their shitty movies from Comic-Con. Top Kek.
Stay strong, /toon/. Don't feed the trolls.
>She died hours before the Emoji Movie dropped
You made it out just in time June. Just in time.
An amazing woman and an even better voice actress...
May she rest in peace
She had very similar features her whole life and some people just have good genes, she did live to 99 (and her sister just passed at 93) after all.
Though if the residual checks bought a touch-up at some point I couldn't judge, the fact that it's quite debatable means she clearly didn't overdo it

I had to look it up just now. haven't been on the news or on 4chan much lately so i had no idea.

Man we're losing a lot of the greats very fast, rest in peace June.
Leave Stan to me
Thing is Kirk's wife (98) is still alive too
Once one goes you know the other will be right after
Impressive he made it to 100 though. When you get that old your perspective on life must be much different.
Hal Roach, producer and director of Laurel & Hardy films and of the Our Gang (Lil Rascals) series, also lived to be 100 and outlived three of his children by over 20 years, and many of the Lil Rascals.
(you) like me! (you) really like me!
It's been a rough year for celebrity deaths.
Man, that one hit home. I wrote to him last summer to say that I always enjoyed his matches and that I'd like to hear some of his stories from back in the day, so he sent me a signed copy of his autobiography. I finished reading it about a month before he passed away.
One of the best road stories in there was that some guy followed him upstairs in a bar to wait outside the bathroom so he could harass him about wrestling being fake and said he could whoop the Animal, no sweat. He'd apparently been loudly declaring this all through the night, so George finally asked if he'd drop it if he proved the guy wrong. The guy agreed and decided to charge him, only to be judo thrown over his shoulder which landed him square on his back with a loud thud. He apologized and offered to buy George a drink. When they got back downstairs, the occupants of the barroom were staring at the two with shocked expressions. George figures they'd made too much noise and the police were on the way to arrest the pair, but then they realized that, in the exact area he'd slammed the guy upstairs which happened to be right above the bar downstairs, the impact had knocked out the sheetrock of the ceiling in a perfect cartoon-style silhouette. The bar broke out into applause and the bartender/owner had George sign the ceiling.
I don't like phonies who just pretend they care for pity. I'm a huge David Clowie fan and when he died last year all the facebook posts going on about how much they miss him despite only knowing the song Major Todd pissed me off. Now fuck off back to /a/ you faggot.
If you really don't know who the fuck she is on THIS board, then 4chan has truly shifted in its userbase over the last 2-3 years.
Also, day of all days, I was expecting a sticky for this legendary woman. She was the queen of voice acting and if not for her, the Annie Awards may not even exist. She did so much in her voice acting career and for animation in general, but she can't even get a sticky on this board about cartoons..
I knew there was a reason why I stopped visiting years ago...
>but then people started complaining and the sticky got dropped when it was deemed not worthy enough.
Complaining about what?
Who the fuck deemed June Foray not worthy enough? At almost 100 years and a career that spun itself through several decades and generations, it is a damned insult not to have her death notice stickied up top for the entire day. She was the last link to the "golden era" of animation. I always envisioned that when she would finally pass on (real shame she didn't get to join the centenarian club), there would be a grand sticky here with a pouring of well wishes. The fact that this thread has been up since the start of yesterday, and only has this many posts, is a glaring admission that this board doesn't get the traffic it used to and alot of the 'old guard' has moved on. It's made worse by the fact that because of bumbling incompetence, this thread is not currently stickied. You had one job.
This (incompetence), and other reasons is why I don't visit here anymore. I visited every day for seven years, posted under a name, but due to various issues, I found I grew up and out of this place. This is my first post here in just over two years. I figure I had to come back, to pay my respects to a woman whom the likes of which we will never see again in the animation/voice acting industry.
RIP June Foray, you deserved much better than this on this board. You lived too long, in fact - for the last generation to still love and appreciate you left this place a long time ago.
A lot of troll "Who?" posts and lol sticky can't get up to 400 posts.
To be fair the other half of the board wouldn't know her and a lot of animation don't care to learn voice actors to be quite honest.
>To be fair the other half of the board wouldn't know her
She voiced a plethora of cartoon characters, her career extended over lifetimes. You "know" June, even if you didn't know "June". I read something today that nearly brought me to tears:
"Simply irreplaceable. And another link to the past gone. But she’s in your head right now. Several of her, as a matter of fact. Even if you had no idea who she was, she owns a slice of your memory, your childhood. And that doesn’t change with death."
I was the OP.I am really pissed now that I no longer have the images. I'm really pissed I didn't save alot of things in my time here.
I don't really come around anymore.
Here is another thought: there is something very sad about how Alan Young and June Foray, both the longest lived cast members from the original 1980s DuckTales series, both died about a year apart from each other. Then you have this new DuckTales reboot, announced in February 2015 and premiering in August, in just a few weeks.
It kind of makes you think, if this reboot was attempted five or six years ago, would they have been considered for reprising their roles? I mean why wouldn't they be, they *were* the characters, and they were still active actors into their old ages. Perhaps I find it a bitter pill to swallow, that this new DuckTales show...is a completely "new" series, with a completely new voice cast with new music and animation. It is DuckTales for the new generation. Therein lies my bitterness. The nostgalia fag in me wants to berate that the younger crop of fans won't know of, or won't care about, the original cartoon. They will be just happy with this new rebooted fest of flashy color and zany social marketing. New cartoons really need their own Twitter account now? Fuck right off with that shit. Its cringe worthy BS and doesn't come off as sincere in the slightest - just a marketing tactic from head office. I've never been a fan of social media, so to see DuckTales mixed with hashtags...in my head, it just doesn't compute.
My childhood is rotting away from me and these soulless, carbon copy reboots taint the legacy of their respective elders. Take that shit and shove it, I ain't workin' here no more.
Back in my day, my mother used to give me 50 cents and I could go to the store and get a loaf of bread, a dozen eggs, some cheese, bacon, and even a candy bar for myself. Can't do it anymore, too many cameras
Damn, and I was really hoping to meet her someday. I knew that it was going to happen sooner or later these past years, but that doesn't make it hurt any less now that it's actually happened.
F, may you rest in peace.
I knew I shouldn't have put off that letter for so long.
>I was really hoping she'd be Magica in the DuckTales reboot.
I don't entirely blame Disney for getting new actors for the DuckTales reboot.
Alan Young could still do a great Scrooge, but Foray was already retired (to an extent) from voice acting.
Given their advanced ages, Disney didn't want to worry about two old pros kicking the bucket during production when they can just get new blood cheap.
The last time June Foray did Magica's voice. She sounds rather congested here, but then again she was 95 at the time.
>Anyone got a link to the recent Rocky and Bullwinkle short?
Just this clip. It's really not good.
...and poor June really sounds her age.
I contacted Google's Doodle department, and proposed that they dedicate a doodle for June Foray this coming September 18th, which would have been her 100th birthday. I hope they consider doing it.
