The inhumans and x-men have a big final battle. During the battle, Medusa is told about the saturation point thing. She goes "oh, why didn't they just say so in the first place?" and destroys the cloud. The two sides join hands and hug it out because the conflict is over now that the cloud is gone.

Then Emma goes "welp, now it's time for the inhumans to see what it's like to be genocided" and summons a bunch of inhuman-killing Sentinels. The x-men and inhumans team up to take them down and Emma escapes in the chaos.

Specifically, the previous issue ends with Mosaic possessing Storm. Well holy shit, Storm's powerful and the leader of the X-Men plus Mosaic gets their memories and shit when he jumps into them. So you have a guy who's inside the leader of the X-Men with the ability to perfectly impersonate them. Perfect chance to cause chaos and have that be a huge plot point right? Well no because like four pages into the next issue he's attacked and it's done away with.

It's a problem that plagues event comics in general. Blackest Night had similar problems.
