Let's all take a moment to appreciate how puberty hit Jackie like a gossamer feather.

Who is the maid with the buttercup hair?
Who sleeps on moonbeams and dances on air?
With tears made of honey and a heart full of bunnies,
Whose infinite virtues are known near and far:
It's Mewni's own sweetheart, our dear Princess Star!
So, I finally caught up and... How did that one Anon put it?
>Season 1 - lalala fun adventures!
>Season 2 - hey kids you wanna see a dead body?
You know that feeling of "Oh, I hope they do this thing!" but few show actually do? These final few episodes actually did it, the madmen!
And now the hiatus. Fuck.
Yeah, i know Moon Butterfly isn't quite as old as Mrs. Barlkey, but I do think there is some resemblance both in looks and manner.
>Season 2 - hey kids you wanna see a dead body?
We've been there a while, Nefcy just isn't hiding it anymore
>Now let´s make some magic
What did she mean by this?
>last week: casual lesbians kissing
>this week: casual battered wife
What the fuck does Season 3 have in store for us?
For whoever made this, looks like you got a bingo.
Marco finding out that this happened in "Bon Bon the Birthday Clown"
>spin off of Marco's travels during those 16 years
And with Marco saying things like learning to read runes or befriending the right kind of people makes me feel like it's not just some 'hack and slash adventurer' adventurer but something a bit more cerebral.
Even after all that's happened, Star still never fails to make me hard
I'm pretty sure this qualified as physical suffering
>"I'm coming for my finger" actually means he plans to take off one of Star's for revenge
>I will chop him into messes. Cuckold me!
>A horned woman's a monster and a beast.
What did she mean by this?
I see this simple edit removing only a strap to expose a cartoon girl's non-detailed collarbone and imaginary shoulders, become intensely aroused, and wonder:
where did everything go so right?
I'm going to jump for joy if they call on his adventures in season 3, hell Star and Marco could end up running through dimensions while being chased by Toffee
Get samurai jack vibes just thinking about it
Better? Jackie still wins.
>Marco jumps into a random portal chasing Heckapoo, end up in the middle of an interdimensional prison, spends months finding a way to escape, when he finally does he's familiar with all the prison tricks
>after being tossed into space Turkey Marco learns how to make food out of everything and 3 languages plus finds the rogue trader that supplies him with trinkets and stuff for his travels
Boom I just made 2 good introductory episodes
No, that's why Star will win.
Jackie has no arc to go through
also how is this even still a question
Star is based on Daron's autistic adventures as a child
Marco is based off her husbando
star getting shock therapy in the looney bin
IIRC the last page is proto Marco and Jackie looking at star's shenanigans and feeling pity of her as they are the only ones that hang out with her despite her madness
And finally star noticed this fact
She would have still "won" at the end of her trials through being a good-hearted determined little weirdo.
Daron stopped work on the comic when she started on the show though, so it just seems depressing because she never finished.
Wrong, fake news. Marco is based on multiple sources with just one piece being her husband. It's how writers create characters from real life you autist. He isn't a self insert stand in.This isn't that hack Alex Hirsch.
>yfw the Earth is no longer a pretty great place
>janna used to be her friend?
Back in S1, Jackie and Janna used to do shit like riding the same skateboard together through the school.
But now Janna prefers hanging out with Star because she's so superior to Jackie.
>He found a Hecapoo and chased her down into a bamboo forest filled with pandas. He helped them prepare bamboo shoots for the pandas and in return they teach him how to bounce off bamboos
>Captures a Hecapoo and blew out her candle, it's a clone
>Marco thanked the pandas and went on his way
this is just Samurai Jack again
Jackie is not a mermaid
star is btfo
not a single manna hint in the final
This final was cancer and this show should be canceled!
I personally blame Nefcy for this.
I'm glad this season is over
>I'm another travel Marco finds an interdimensional karate school, a super ages up Jeremy greets him telling him that in the future he found peace of mind but always lamented how he acted towards Marco, then he teaches him to astral travel inside a dimension
Actual lore around people descended from merfolk were that they had the ability to breathe underwater and had greater strength than humans so Marco kid with Mermaid Jackie would be Aquaman without the ability to talk to dolphins
>Marco ended up travelling with a group of moles underground
>then they were attacked by gangster moles
>Marco was helpless until the moles taught him how to 'see' in the dark
>with this ability he could defeat the gangster moles
>but he was eventually overwhelmed
>a single light shone in the web of underground tunnels, blinding the moles
>it was Hecapoo's light
>Marco finally defeated the moles
>tfw to smart too let Starco win
>I heard Jackie and Oskar are based on their respective childhood crushes too
Source on this? I'd read all her interview relating to the show and not once has she mentioned Jackie nor Oskar by name.
In my opinion, the planetary object known as Earth-also known as Terra or Gaia-is quite remarkable to a considerable extent, and that is not to be taken as an overstatement considering that in the past, I have traveled beyond the area of responsibility of this planet, into the vast emptiness that is the vacuum of space where I have encountered mesmerizing phenomena and have participated in highly stimulating activities in. I find the environment of this planet to be compatible with my personal preferences, I might possibly consider extending the period of time of my stay on this planet, but I digress. I believe that individuals whom one has not had prior social contact with are, in truth, companions that one has yet to engage in social interactions with. I have been, for quite some time now, physically assaulting mutated abominations with magic and yet, never have I perspired while doing so; that is to say that such an activity requires minimal effort on my part as it is of little difficulty to me. I am genuinely contemplating whether I could consider this realm my main residence to which I am emotionally attached.
>fuckers can't even spell her name right
With his fame across the multiverse growing Marco becomes target to multiple bounty hunters, after hearing about their reasons/tactics to catch him Marco easily overpowers them leaving nothing but pain and regret because in the great scheme of things their abilities amounted to nothing
I guess S3 will have a lot of political stuff... coined with some romance and adventure... I mean the Butterfly monarchy is kind of destroyed now thanks to Cuckqueen's song xD I love Star Butterfly but hot damn! If she didn't want to let Marco know her crush... WHY THE FUCK DID THE TOLD THE SONGSTER about it?!!! D=
But yeah I'm pretty sure the show will bring Toffee and Moon's past battle to an end. I guess Marco will magically find out he loves Star and well I do want to know what will the Butterfly family do to get their kingdom back and get everyone's trust again xD
Ending song by Marco "I think mewni is a pretty geat place"
Hopes for season 3?
I want to see Tom's Demon Queen
mother. I really like the shows female characters designs and I want to see more instead of just using returning characters.
>Marco not using scissors because he's worried what will happen/where he'll end up
So anyone guess then what the writers are going to do? The premise of the show is Marco and Star going on adventures so what's gonna happen for the whole next season? Will the premier bring them back cause Marco isn't gonna go and Star certainly isn't coming back. So how will the writers get Star and Marco together for the 3rd season?
>with his fame, Marco is dragged into a battle where a feudal lord created strong hybrids of machine and monsters as unwilling soldiers
>he befriends a bike-dragon hybrid
>Marco overthrew the lord and freed the hybrids
Jealousy and possessiveness are parts of love whether you like them or not anon
You can take it too far, of course
But if you never feel possessive over the person you love, you don't really love them
>Marco learns that Hekapoo has been financing gangsters to rob banks and jewellers to keep the competition out of the dimension scissors market
>in order to get close to her he joins...
They hypercrisis could've been great!
>Long ago in a distant land,
>I, HEKAPOO, the dimensional-scissor-forging mistress of hotness, unleashed an unspeakable trial...
>But, a foolish karate warrior weilding 'my' magic scissors, stepped forth to annoy me.
>Before my real flame was blown, I tore open some portals of mine and sent him chasing my clones to his future, where my scissors was his only way home.
>Now the fool seeks to return it to his pals and undo the hotness that- is-- H-POO.
I didn't follow the show this season, which I regret.
Why did Marco's two "best friends" not show up at all this season? It was even referenced how they never got any speaking roles except Alfonso's laugh I think at the last episode.
Now granted, I'm not complaining since that means more time for all the other more interesting characters. I just wonder if their exclusion was because they realized these were completely irrelevant characters or if something else happened with their VAs..
I'm sure it was because they just weren't great characters. Ferguson was better than he could have been but I'm not sure why Alfonzo had to exist other than to give Marco a second male friend.
I also believe that they may have been pushed on the show a bit by one of the co-executive producers who were involved with the show in the first season but not in the second. Just dumb speculation, but since they're just such stock cartoon character types it feels like the kind of thing someone who has to work on the show but either doesn't care for or expect much from it would come up with.
Did you forget mewnipendence when the royal family enchanted all the peasants with giant magic armor?
It would be military vs dark souls
Reminder that no other girl can even compete with Jackie
Jackie kind of got shafted right away. She had one episode of being turned into a girlfriend, 0 episodes of her being a girlfriend, and 2 episodes of her being a plot obstruction for Star to overcome.
They're making it super obvious that Marco doesn't even want to think about his own girlfriend when the scent of Star's pussy is nearby.
Just recently started watching this show.
Have we already run through the speculations that Star's family are the kind of horrible Tyrants people would band together to overthrow?
Or do later episodes make that completely irrelevant?
>In an effort to go after Star, marco uses his new scissors to try and open a portal to Mewni
>What with reverting back into his teenage self from the "Hekapoo incident", marco's memories and all that he's learned about them, sans battle skills, are now a hazy and near forgotten
>Marco hastily enters a portal which he thought led to Star's home world but actually ended him up in a dimension where his scissors have been rendered useless
>cue montage of episodes of Marco battling henchmen/bounty hunters, desperately chasing leads to find a way home/to Star only to fail each time as Toffee, now in full form, tries to sabotage his every effort just when he's so close to being with her again,
>A la Samurai Jack
Gotta get back
Back to my pals
yep that's what I also think... I mean we all know he LOVES Star, as a friend... but I am pretty sure this "friendship" will eventually become romance... but it's sad how they approached it... I mean Marco ditched Jackie TWICE in the season finale to go check on Star and her emotional disaster
It's made pretty clear that Mewni was built on genocide and apartheid. It doesn't get a lot of air but it seems like they plan on going somewhere with it in a future episode. Currently other things just seem more pressing.
I'm worried about that. Their relationship isn't shown too frequently and it's always like how good they are together.
Personally, I hope they stay together and it gets a little more interesting somehow. Star and Marco are bound by the Blood Moon or whatever, but if they go through with whatever fate they have while remaining friends, that just seems way more tragic and juicy to me.
I FOUND THE THREAD GUISE
It's wasn't Oskar, it was Tom, I goofed... but ya.
Hard to say, since I've seen episodes somewhat at random.
I saw her wand get broken. I saw the clown seance/Jacky date, which seems pretty recent.
I literally just finished watching the episode where she takes Marko's parents to muni (wait Mewni? okay that is an adorable spelling) for their anniversary, which is what got me thinking about it.
I feel like there are more jokes about it being bad in the first than the second, but that theme does continue when we see some monsters in the second season.
The impression you get in later episodes is that her parents aren't horrible people so much as more concerned with keeping the status quo, and can even be pretty kind in certain situations. Mewni seems like a shit place to live but I think the whole show tries for a "shades of gray" approach to issues/morality.
> worry during first season that Starco is just executive meddling and that the crew isn't really enthusiastic about it
> Second season with more creative control, crew goes full-bore Starco
best timeline lads
Feelings were probably growing ever since BMB
it was heavily implied, in the very first episode of S2, that Star wanted to hide her diary from Marco because she had written about her crush in it
So yeah, good chance
>Apparently Tom is also based on Nefcy's youth crush? At least, I think it's sort of suspicious how Tom's va is a guy who used to be the dreamboat in a popular tv show in the 90's. I'm sure Nefcy had a celebrity crush on his character (or him).
>So Star is based on Nefcy, Marco on her husband, Jackie on the husband's high school crush and Tom on Nefcy's youth celebrity crush.
WHO IS THE BOY IN THE EARTHLY ATTIRE
THE PRINCE OF THE PRINCESS'S DEEPEST DESIRE
I DON'T NEED TO SHOW IT I THINK WE ALL KNOW IT
BUT JUST IN CASE I WILL SAY IT AGAIIIIIIIIN
IS IN LOVE
WITH HER BEST FRIEND
And his name is Marco Diaz.
moar from that thread
>if jackie is based on someone irl then i wonder how hot that person must have been when they were in highschool.
>The "official" dream girl all of the boys secretly lust after, I guess.
>Isn't Jackie based on a chick they both know, and that her husband used to crush on? I think she has an instagram.
>earlier pic is Tom's VA in his tv dreamboat days and pic related Nefcy and her husband, but sadly I have no pic of the chick who inspired Jackie
Of course they can, anon. Jackie's just well-endowed, while the other girls are mediocre.
Give me your rarest Marcos not/sveg/
I do wonder if any of the crew have looked at Star threads on 4chan. Daron said in an interview when the second season was just beginning production that they were trying to play around with ideas they'd seen fans express interest in.
One very early thread about the first episode on /co/ had someone asking something like "since Star's wand is a family heirloom, does this mean one day we'll learn more about her ancestors who owned it before?"
This being /co/ + before the show had gained many fans here the response was something like "haha of course fucking not, and who cares anyway"
The King controls the Kingdom's interior territory, while the queen serves as a symbol of national pride and takes care of magical and extra-dimensional business pertinate to the wellbeing of the kingdom and the universe
>I do wonder if any of the crew have looked at Star threads on 4chan
The threads from those glory days of There's Actually Not Going to be a Leak era seem to think that because Adam (Marco's VA) was up at 1:30 am (he said so in his twitter) that he was visiting one of the threads.
I find it unlikely.
> This girl wants to make a song about her true self, and so do I! I'll help her by shouting her obvious love for this boy to the world!
> Call me a hack, you little bitch? I'm going to turn the peasants against your parents and humiliate you in front of your crush
>"Princess Star, this song seem to be...anti-Royals"
>"Ah, yes, but I really hate the Royals. Just put all anti-Royal thought you have in there."
>"All of them? Okay."
This frame was priceless.
He got carried away with his creative energy. And he must've not realized that Marco was taken atm. She gave Marco a seat for the song, so he may have assumed they were already close in that way and he was doing her good by bringing everything into the spotlight
I was going to say it would have come out to the same result either way, but there seemed to be a while between Ludo getting the book and Ludo actually using the book. So yeah, probably.
You don't have to lack a king to be a queendom, the queen just has to be the one in charge.
Idk, it seems like the queen has way more power and importance.
>The queen in trusted with the most powerful weapon in Mewni
>Murals of past queens but not kings
>Children inherent the queen's last name
I don't really see River having much more of a say in anything than Moon. If anything she bosses him around.
Ever head about "Of Mice and Men"?
So everyone is just going to ignore the stuff about Nefcy I (re)posted above? All that digging through the archives for nothing...
>How to do everything wrong" by Star Butterfly
This will be the first book of the series
River does appear to have control of the townsfolk; he can get a retinue of soldiers mobilized, and can order knights around (as he wanted to get knights to go with Moon). I think part of the bossiness of Moon is simply their relationship; he is scatter brained and she has to keep him on track. That's just my theory, anyway.
Darn it Janna, who hasnt stolen me journal?
Aren't only girls supposed to care about that?
The finale showed growth in this regard. She was in denial of both her feelings and her jealousy therefrom. Season ends with her admitting her feelings and doing something arguably selfless--leaving Earth.
Is Jarco Jackie/Marco?
Wouldn't that be confusing for Janna/Marco? Or are they Manna? Not that she has a chance, ha. haha.
Starfan13 a cute.
I KNOW WHY THAT'S CROPPED!!!
It doesn't help that one of the most common girl fantasies is a guy being madly in love with them while they act like unlovable cunts or half-witted spazzes. Basically, them doing everything wrong and being terrible people but being unconditionally desired for literally no reason.
It's a very strange but common girl romantic fantasy. And behold! It's the whole plot of the series.
Why settle for anything less than this punished goddess?
whozzat, the bear lady? They both had really similar roles, but Moon being on TV, she has way more opportunities to develop her relationship with Star.
why the fuck did they turn her into a bear and thus removing any chance for good dialogue between the two until the end.
It'd be better for starcofags if Star turned heel like many anons were speculating and Marco promise to bring Star back. Considering the only reason Naruto didn't marry Sasuke is because Sasuke is a guy and Japan is a very homophobic society but they pretend Boruto is their son; having the same dynamic with Star and Marco would ensure the ship but instead they're going to the Soul Society arc and Ichigo married Orihime, not Rukia.
Mewmen are clearly superhuman in strength. They're probably a patriarchal society out of tradition and the immense strength and resilience we see in King Butterfly which is why they're like earthlings with our castles and kingdoms and shit. The females probably exist to carry on magic tradition and to be super saiyans and fight magic super evil things too I guess.
>"Now, Tom, this doesn't have to change our relationship, but I want you to call me "Mom" from now on."
Be honest. Did you ever think Ludo would end up being this developed?
>mfw nobody ever leaks his stuff
Eve since WWI women have been getting puberty as a early as 9 (apparently because of all the estrogen in the food)
It's why hebephilia is so meh nowadays.
(I'm regards to the show though, I'm fairly certain it's just a quick visual cue that she's more attractive and generally a higher prize than most of the other girls (Brittany also has this body specialization) so they don't have to develop her character much)
how did that bard fuck knew about star's crush?
did Star actually told him that? why would she do that?
Star being written this retarded takes me out of the immersion, how can she just reveal important secrets using a tacky song and not expect any backlash. it's like she's hellbent on being contrarian and make stupid choices.
>she has way more opportunities to develop her relationship with Star
This is the thing - Moon has a lot of chances to develop her relationships with Star but instead she
>Sent daughter to Earth
>Appears only when some shit happens or is going to happen
>Wants her daughter to be a good queen in future but does nothing for this.
i used to kinda loathe his scenes since a lot of it was the same whining. S2 has been a fucking treat for sure.
I feel bad that it may have all been for naught now that Toffee seems to be claiming full control.
not just our boy Jack
Samurais seem to be popping out of the woodwork this year
1. chances are, she didn't tell him that. he just figured it himself while staring at their hug
2. her part in writing the song was just telling Ruberiot everything about herself. And it's perfectly in character for her to get carried away a bit too far. Then he did what he did with the informtion received.
>how did that bard fuck knew about star's crush?
He saw Star hugging Marco and deduced the rest. Also probably he asked Star about his life on Earth for inspiration and Star couldn't stop mentioning Marco.
>Star being written this retarded takes me out of the immersion, how can she just reveal important secrets using a tacky song and not expect any backlash. it's like she's hellbent on being contrarian and make stupid choices.
Star is literally retarded. Maybe she got hit on the head as a baby like Goku or something
the first part of the song was great, but yeah I was little uncomfortable with the song then being used as a vehicle to cause strife within the kingdom
the bard was bug-eyed when he saw them interacting in the kitchen.
Archive is down so I can't see if there's any source. Without that its typical 4chan speculation. Someone thinking Jackie might be based on someone isn't convincing. Tom's VA being a heartthrob doesn't mean anything, its normal for Disney cartoons to pull these 80s stars who are just doing minor roles for the fun of it.
>he just figured it himself while staring at their hug
Then he definitely overhyped the situation, even if he got it mostly right.
You forget the part were companies hold off shit purposely, partly in order to build demand, and partly because they like to alternate between shows and movies and shit (its why they're called seasons)
Elinor as a person stops really being much of a character once she gets bear'ed.
Actually I think Star vs. does the mother/daughter relationship they were trying to do in Brave much better
Not at fucking all.
I thought them using him as a red herring in the first season, with his own failures as a villain being his downfall, and then him briefly attempting revenge was as developed as he was ever gonna get. And even that, at the time, was more than I'd expected.
KILL TOFFEE 2018
As the creator's self insert, she's basically a super spaz who's written as constantly making terrible decisions that are bad for her well being. She's the physical embodiment of an average woman's self image.
In-universe terms, she's incredibly selfish, short-sighted, impulsive, emotional, reactionary, inconsiderate and rude. There've been many situations where she would let someone die (comically) because it would otherwise personally inconvenience or displease her in some minor way.
I imagine they'll play it up later, that she's very similar to her evil ancestor. Incredibly selfish but imaginative to the point that she makes up her own spells rather than following guidelines. She has a natural talent for magic but her weird autistic and selfish personality is what could in theory make her evil. Although of course they'll have a "we're nothing alike" moment or two before she recants on her behavior in the final episode.
it probably went down like that - she went on the 2-hour long rant about herself, Marco, her book and everything in her life, concluded with something in the lines of "now let everybody know everything about Star Butterfly!". And we saw how transparent she can be while talking about her crush in front of Ponyhead. Then Ruberiot put that and the hug together, and the rest is history
>First episode of season 3
>Continues where it left off
>Marco tries to search for Star, his scissors, everything gone
>He opens up the closet
>It's empty, only one thing was left behind
>He opens and starts reading Chapter 11
>Star spills her guts and confesses how deeply she cares and loves Marco
>Marco starts to tear up just like in Mewberty when she left
not that anon, but I think adam mcarthur or someone on the crew mentioned it on twitter
seems about right when you remember they got a third season in march/February 2016 and were still working on the second season then.
