I might be able to shed some light.

1. People may be attracted to the design or idea of the characters.

2. People may be attracted to the personality/caricature.

3. Attachments can develop purely from enjoying good porn of the characters, which transitions to the source material versions of the characters.

4. The simple style makes projection easy. Most sane people would imagine the characters being visually pleasing when trying to imagine them in less abstract styles.

I just realized how much of a legal loophole Patreon is when it comes to copyright laws and rule34. Artists can make a living making """parodies""" of popular cartoons and shit but they aren't technically selling it so they aren't usually brought to court.

Companies generally don't want to touch porn parodies with lawsuits, but what about non-porn stuff? What if Mikeinel was making a straight up Adventure Time video game or animated series or movie? Has anyone ever been sued for making money via patreon like that?

I like Marceline, she seems like the most consistent and human person personality wise in the show. I've heard some anon say that she used to be all hardcore rocker chick, but that was literally in her first two appearances. Personally i'm a sucker for silly characters like Magic Man and Lumpy Space Princess as well as the Ice King before he got really depressing to think about, but LemonGrab has to take the cake for me as my favorite character from how out of place he is yet entertaining and being involved in some very interesting plots and points along with his crazy attitude, autistic behavior, insane voice, and being a little cute on the side, makes him a very good lemon.

Ice queen is also pretty arousing for me as well as Fiona because of her thickness, but honestly Marceline is the most arousing with her "bad girl" attitude as well as her nice figure, but also because of personality and likability because shes more than some tasty punk eye candy, shes got her own character and feelings that make her human, which i enjoy. I just can't wrap my head around why the dev chose to make every second sentence a character says a cringy 4th-wall breaking attempt. It's like he felt the need to explain that the reason characters weren't totally in character was because haha he likes porn. But we didn't need to know that. We already knew that. All it did was completely take you out of the experience.
