Season 8 and 9 had a few rare off moments, but are generally still classic,

Season 10 is where I'd say it became apparent that they've ran out of ideas.

Season 17 is where I'd say they mostly stopped even trying.

It wasn't a bad episode, but it wasn't good either, and really felt like it was the start of the dumb story ideas trend that the Simpsons would later become.

Homer's Enemy.

I know lots of people really like it, but I never did. It was too meta, too self-aware. The focus wasn't on stories anymore, it was a satire of itself.

But while I consider that the beginning, Seasons 8 and 9 weren't half bad a whole, but 10 was when I stopped watching regularly. Man, that was sixteen years ago.

Honestly, I know precisely where I drew the line.

Episode 300. Bunch of hype on the tv for it, watched it, completely unenjoyable and cringe-worthy. Knew that Simpsons would pretty much be like that from then on, so stopped.
